Indications Elocoma

It is used to eliminate or relieve symptoms that occur with dermatoses, such as itching and inflammation.

Release form

The drug is released in the form of a lotion, as well as an ointment or cream. The cream and ointment are packaged in 15 g tubes, and the lotion is contained in 20 ml dropper bottles.

Pharmacodynamics

It was found that the mechanism of the drug's medicinal action leads to the induction of protein secretion processes - the release of lipocortins, which slow down the activity of phospholipase. These elements can control the process of biosynthesis of the most powerful inflammatory mediators, leading to a slowdown in the release of arachidonic acid, which is a common precursor for these conductors.

Pharmacokinetics

After local treatment, the medicine passes through the skin, and the degree of its absorption is determined by various factors. If there are damages or inflammatory processes on the skin surface, absorption may increase.

In the case of local single application to intact skin (without using a sealed dressing), approximately 0.7% of the ointment portion and about 0.4% of the cream are detected in the blood after 8 hours. The absorption rate of the lotion is also low.

Dosing and administration

Using the ointment.

It is necessary to treat the damaged areas of the skin surface with the preparation - the procedure should be carried out maximum once a day. The medicine can be used for children only with the permission of a doctor.

Application of cream.

The above recommendations also apply to the medicinal cream. The drug is prescribed to children only according to indications, with strict adherence to the application scheme and dosage.

Scheme of using lotion.

A few drops of the lotion should be rubbed into the affected area until completely absorbed, once a day. The preparation does not leave any traces, while cooling the irritated and inflamed skin in the damaged areas.

The duration of therapy depends on several different factors: the patient's tolerance of the drug, the effectiveness of the drug, and the presence/absence of negative effects.

Use Elocoma during pregnancy

It should be noted that no tests have been performed on the effects of Elokom on pregnant and lactating women, as well as on the fetus and infants. For this reason, the drug is only allowed to be used in cases where the probable benefit significantly exceeds the possibility of complications.

It is also necessary to use the medication with caution during lactation, because GCS can quickly pass into the mother's milk, negatively affecting the growth of the infant (slowing it down), and in addition to this, the endogenous binding of the drug, and causing other complications.

Contraindications

It is contraindicated to use the medication in case of intolerance to the components of the drug.

Side effects Elocoma

Reviews

Elokom is often discussed in comments regarding the treatment of various dermatological pathologies. Patients often talk about the high effectiveness of the drug. Quite often, questions are also asked about whether the drug can be used for children, and for what disorders it is suitable for them.

There are also many comments with questions about whether the cream/ointment is a hormonal agent, and which form of the drug is more effective. At the same time, reviews often note that the cream is more popular with patients. It is used to eliminate a variety of types of rashes, without specifying the diagnosis, and without undergoing an examination by a doctor, which is very wrong, because it is the doctor who will be able to choose the most suitable treatment option.

Opinions regarding the lotion show that it is often most effective at the initial stage of therapy, and with prolonged use it can lead to potentiation of the signs of the disease. Such an effect may be a manifestation of a negative reaction to the drug or that the substance is not used in accordance with the instructions. Sometimes patients also wonder whether it is possible to use hair lotion, but there is no such permission among the indications of the drug.

Patients leave a large number of reviews regarding the possibility of using the drug in infants. The instructions prohibit such use, but many parents still use the drug to treat diaper-related dermatitis in their children.

As a result, we can conclude that the medication has high medicinal efficacy, but it can only be used with the prescription of a doctor who has previously made an accurate diagnosis.
