Ecofemin is used to prevent and eliminate nonspecific inflammation in the vagina, as well as vaginal dysbiosis.
Indications Ecofemin
Vaginal capsules are shown when:
- gardnerelleze;
- bacterial form of vulvovaginitis;
- hormone-dependent form of colpitis;
- in the preparatory period before the implementation of planned gynecological interventions;
- to prevent the possible emergence of complications developing after performing gynecological operations;
- in preparation for childbirth, to prevent ascending infection;
- in the period after using antibacterial drugs (local and systemic use).
Use of medication for oral administration:
- in the period after intoxication;
- in the period after the completion of the use of systemic antibacterial drugs;
- to restore vaginal biocenosis after using enemas or powerful laxatives;
- chronic bloating;
- intestinal dysbiosis.
Release form
It is available in capsules (for oral or intravaginal administration). Vaginal capsules are contained in 6 or 12 pieces per pack, and oral capsules contain 20 capsules per 1 pack.

Pharmacodynamics
With the introduction of vaginal capsules of lactobacillus, the drugs penetrate immediately into the vagina. These microorganisms have an antagonistic effect on the pathogenic microflora. Such antagonism arises from the production of lactate, hydrogen peroxide, acidophilin, hydrolytic enzymes, and also lactocidin, which appear as a consequence of the life activity of lactic acid microorganisms. These bacteria have no effect on a healthy microflora. Their colonization helps to normalize the vaginal biocenosis, and in addition to stabilize the acid-base balance in the vagina. This process helps prevent the development of vaginal infections and inflammations, and also treats gardnerellez.
As a result of taking the oral form of LS, lactic acid microorganisms penetrate into the intestine, adhering to its mucous membrane, and then begin to produce elements that have antibacterial properties. This allows you to normalize the balance of microflora in the intestine. Lactobacilli act as antagonists of a conditionally pathogenic and pathogenic microflora. Under their influence, infections that provoke the development of inflammation in the intestine and eliminate digestive disorders (having a bacteriogenic origin) are eliminated, and besides, the manifestations of pathogenic gassing, which arises from the vital activity of the pathogenic microflora, are reduced.
Lactobacillus helps to normalize the link of the immune system, for which the intestinal biocenosis is responsible. The activity of these microorganisms stimulates the synthesis of immunoglobulins and interferon, activates macrophages and phagocytes, and at the same time increases the production of lysozyme and stimulates T-cell immunity. Stabilization of the intestinal microflora allows to strengthen the synthesis of calciferol, and in addition it improves the absorption of nutrients and vitamins.
Dosing and administration
To obtain a curative effect, vaginal capsules should be used in a dosage of 1 capsule twice a day for 6 days. It is necessary to calculate the treatment course so that you do not get into the period of menstruation. The course is allowed to be repeated if there are indications. For prophylaxis, the drug is administered on the 1 capsule before bedtime for 3-7 days. You can enter it with the help of an applicator or simply with your finger. The procedure is best done in a position lying on your back or on your side (pulling up your knees to the stomach).
Orally, the drug is taken in such doses: for children 4-6 years of age on the first capsule once a day. For children from 6 years old, as well as adults for the 1st capsule twice per day. Capsules should be consumed before meals. It is forbidden to open it. Treatment with the oral form of drugs lasts for 0.5-1 months.

Use Ecofemin during pregnancy
Use of the drug during pregnancy is permitted.
Contraindications
The drug is contraindicated: with intestinal or vaginal candidiasis, but also with intolerance of substances contained in the medicine.

Storage conditions
Keep the medicine in a dark, closed from the sun, dry place. Temperature should not exceed 25 about C.
Shelf life
Ecofemin in both dosage forms is allowed to be used within 2 years from the date of release of the product.
