This terrible word allergy... Constant runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, tears, skin rashes, a crumpled handkerchief in the hands, helping to fight all these delights - this is an incomplete picture depicting a typical allergy sufferer.
What is an allergy? By definition, an allergy is an acute reaction of the human body's immune system to some pathogen. Most often, allergic reactions occur to animal hair, plant pollen, dust, medications, or food products and their components. The substances that provoke allergic reactions are called allergens. An allergy can manifest itself either very weakly, when not a single symptom is noticeable and you do not even suspect that you suffer from an allergy, or, on the contrary, extremely strongly, when the work of the mucous membranes of the body is upset, sneezing, coughing, and lacrimation are constantly present.
People who have severe allergies and find it very difficult to tolerate may even experience anaphylactic shock due to the symptoms – a very strong reaction of the body to an allergen. Such a reaction of the body may even threaten the patient’s life. This pathological condition is most often caused by direct contact of the human body with an allergen – an insect bite, consumption of a product or medication, constant contact of the allergen with the skin (for example, latex), and so on.
Allergies manifest themselves in humans at an early age. If you start treatment in time, then by the time you reach adulthood, the allergy can be cured. However, if the symptoms of allergic reactions of the body began to manifest only at an adult age, such an allergy can hardly be cured.
Allergy is a disease that is predominantly characteristic of women. It is also worth noting that according to statistics, 1 in 10 people suffer from allergic reactions of the body, for example, allergic rhinitis. In some cases, chronic rhinitis can lead to asthma or eczema.
Causes of allergic reaction
Allergies occur in people whose immune system is hyperbolized and reacts to certain substances. In this case, a fairly large amount of histamine is released, which affects various systems of the body, causing a runny nose, sneezing and other symptoms.
An allergen can enter the patient's body through breathing, touching something, taking or introducing it, or eating. Allergy catalysts can be found in food, cosmetics, medications, animal hair or down, dust, pollen, and cigarette smoke.
The most common symptoms of allergies
Allergy is a recurring disease. The manifestation is characterized by the flowering period of certain plants, the molting season of animals, the appearance of certain fruits, the activation of insects, and so on. Symptoms can be observed both over a long period and for a short time. Thus, the most common symptoms are a runny nose (hay fever), asthma, difficulty breathing, watery and reddened eyes, joint pain, aches, the appearance of rashes on the skin, and problems with the digestive system.
If treatment is not started in time, the allergy can cause complications. So, if the disease has developed into a more acute form, you can determine this by:
- severe allergic reactions (anaphylactic shock);
- breathing problems - wheezing, shortness of breath;
- increased heart rate;
- frequency of appearance and nature of sweat;
- nausea or spasms in the stomach area;
- frequent dizziness, problems with blood vessels, convulsions.
If you experience any of these symptoms, be sure to seek medical help, as you may die if you do not receive timely help.
What to treat - nasal drops for allergies
Since allergies can also be caused by medications, you need to be extremely careful and cautious in treating allergies so as not to aggravate the disease. To prescribe the right drug, it is best to contact doctors who will help you determine the body's reaction to a particular drug, find out the sensitivity to any substance.
It is especially important to be especially careful when choosing nasal drops for allergies if a child suffers from this disease. Therefore, there are many options that are prescribed depending on the body's sensitivity to its components. If the case is complex and allergic reactions occur to most drugs, then special antiallergic drugs are prescribed.
There are several types of nasal drops for allergies:
- drugs that relieve inflammation and constrict blood vessels;
- hormonal or steroid drugs;
- nasal preparations of combined action.
Also, allergy medications that are used by instillation into the nose are divided into drops and sprays. Sprays can more often cause allergic reactions in patients, however, they are simpler and more practical to use. At the same time, sprays are more expensive and are not recommended for use over a long period of time. In turn, nasal drops for allergies are not so practical and convenient to use, tend to flow out of the nasal cavity, have a shorter duration of action. Still, they are less toxic, can be used longer than sprays, and are also cheaper in material terms.
However, before using any drug, you should still consult with a doctor - a therapist, allergist or pediatrician if the child has an allergy.

Nasal drops for allergies will help you get rid of the symptoms of the disease for a while, but the disease will not go away. In order to get rid of allergies, you need to carry out systematic treatment. In order to get rid of this disease, nasal drops for allergies alone will not be enough. A complex of drugs that can help you cure allergies should be prescribed to you by a doctor who has previously checked your individual sensitivity and tolerance to drugs.
Remember that using the drug longer than the prescribed period will not help you get rid of even the allergy symptoms. Most nasal drops for allergies have a treatment course of no more than 7 days. It is worth using only fresh drugs, periodically replacing them. However, you should not replace them without consulting an allergist.
Also remember that you should not overdo it with the number of aerosols used per day, since excessive use can negatively affect the condition of your body and reward you with new unpleasant, even painful sensations.
