Diseases of the nervous system (neurology)

Peripheral autonomic failure

By the term "peripheral vegetative failure" is meant a complex of vegetative manifestations that arise when the peripheral (segmental) segment of the vegetative nervous system is affected (usually organic).

Disturbance of thermoregulation: causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

Thermoregulation disorders are manifested by hyperthermia, hypothermia, oznobopodobnym hyperkinesis, the syndrome of "fever". The emergence of temperature disorders, in particular hyperthermia, as shown by clinical and electrophysiological research, indicates a certain inferiority of hypothalamic mechanisms.

Vegetative disorders in the limbs

Vegetative disorders in the limbs are a compulsory companion of the pathology of the peripheral nervous system and are often found in submental vegetative disorders. They are manifested by vascular-trophic-algic syndrome as one of the forms of the syndrome of vegetative dystonia.

Hyperventilation syndrome

Hyperventilation syndrome (Da Costa syndrome, stress syndrome, nervous respiratory syndrome, psychophysiological respiratory reactions, irritable heart syndrome, etc.) in recent years has attracted the attention of many researchers due to its frequency and the large role it plays in the formation of numerous clinical manifestations.

Vegetative crises, or panic attacks: symptoms

The main feature of vegetative manifestations is the presence of both subjective and objective disorders and their polysystemic nature. The most frequent are vegetative manifestations: in the respiratory system - difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, a feeling of suffocation, a feeling of lack of air, etc .; in cardiovascular - discomfort and pain in the left side of the chest, palpitations, pulsations, sensations of interruptions, heart sinking.

Vegetative crises, or panic attacks: causes

Special epidemiological studies, the sample size of which reached 3,000 people, convincingly showed that panic attacks are most common between the ages of 25 and 64 with some predominance in the 25-44 year group, most rarely at the age of over 65. Panic attacks occurring in elderly patients (over 65 years of age) are usually poorer in symptoms, in paroxysms there may be only 2-4 symptoms, but emotional components are usually quite pronounced.

Vegetative crises, or panic attacks

Panic attack (PA), or vegetative crisis (VC), is the most dramatic and dramatic manifestation of the syndrome of vegetative dystonia (SVD) or panic disorders (PR).

Vegeto-vascular dystonia

Vegeto-vascular dystonia includes the manifestation of all forms of disturbance of vegetative regulation. In recent years, preference has been given to the term "vegetative dystonia syndrome" before "vegeto-vascular dystonia syndrome", as this makes it possible to talk about the syndrome of vegetative-visceral dystonia, and the latter can be divided into multiple systemic dystonia (vegetative, vegetative, etc.).

Neurogenic hyperthermia (fever)

An increase in body temperature with adequate thermoregulation is called a fever. Hyperthermia develops with excessive metabolic heat production, excessively high ambient temperature or with defective heat transfer mechanisms

Convulsive attack (attack of violent movements)

Attacks of violent movements or "seizures" can proceed with the switching off of consciousness or against the background of a changed state of consciousness. They can also be observed with a fully preserved consciousness.
