Diseases of the nervous system (neurology)

Isenko-Cushing syndrome

Distinguish Itenko-Cushing's disease, which has a hypothalamic-pituitary origin, and the actual Itenko-Cushing syndrome is a disease associated with the primary defeat of the adrenal glands. In this section, only the cerebral form of the disease is considered.

Derkum's disease: causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

Dercum disease (painful lipomatosis) is more common in women aged 40 to 50 years. It is manifested by painful fatty deposits in the subcutaneous tissue in the form of lipomatous nodes of various sizes. The skin over the lipomatous nodes is often reddened. The nodes are very painful. Their localization is usually asymmetrical, the mobility is good.

Morgagni-Stewart-Morel syndrome: causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

Morganyi-Steward-Morel syndrome is characterized by thickening of the inner plate of the frontal part (frontal hyperostosis), general obesity with a pronounced second chin and fatty apron, usually without stretch marks on the skin, often intracranial hypertension, menstrual cycle disorder, hirsutism, severe headaches mainly frontal and occipital localization, weakening of memory, depression, diabetes mellitus.

Kleine-Levin syndrome: causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

Klein-Levin syndrome manifests itself as periodic hypersomnia, paroxysmal hunger with hyperphagia, periods of motor anxiety, episodic hyperosmia, sexual hyperactivity. Usually during the attacks of the disease the patient sleeps from 18 to 20 hours or more per day. In the waking state, hyperphagia and masturbation are observed.

Adiposogenital dystrophy of Babinsky-Frohlich

With adipozogenital dystrophy Babinsky-Frohlich observed predominant deposition of fat on the trunk, especially in the abdomen ("apron") and hips. As a rule, it develops in the period preceding puberty. Characteristic growth retardation, hypogonadism. In men, underdevelopment of the genitals is often accompanied by cryptorchidism.

Cerebral obesity: causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

The following forms of cerebral obesity are observed: the Itenko-Cushing's disease, adiposogenital dystrophy, the Lawrence-Moon-Barde-Biddle syndrome, the Morgani-Steward-Morel, Prader-Willy, Klein-Levin, Alstrem-Halgren, Edwards, Barraker-Siemens dyspnoea, , Madelung's disease, a mixed form of obesity.

Neuroendocrine syndromes: causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

Symptoms of neuro-exchange-endocrine syndromes are determined by the degree and nature of dysfunction of the hypothalamic-pituitary system. A feature of neuroendocrine syndromes is their clinical polymorphism and close connection with vegetative, emotional and motivational disorders.

Violation of sexual function (impotence)

A decrease in libido can occur in neurological diseases (spinal cord tumors, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord dryness), endocrine diseases (impaired pituitary gland function, Shyhena syndrome, Simmonds disease, hyperpituitarism, persistent lactorrhoea and amenorrhea syndrome, acromegaly

Orthostatic hypotension

Orthostatic hypotension is an important clinical syndrome that occurs in many neurological and somatic diseases. With orthostatic hypotension, the neurologist faces primarily problems with falls and fainting.

Peripheral autonomic failure: treatment

Treatment of peripheral autonomic failure is symptomatic and is a rather difficult task for the doctor. Treatment of many manifestations of peripheral vegetative insufficiency has not been sufficiently developed. We will touch on the treatment of the most severe, maladaptive disorders.
