Cystic kidney disease

The term "cystic kidney disease" unites a group of renal diseases of different etiology, the defining feature of which is the presence of cysts in the kidneys.

Kidneys and alcohol (alcoholic nephropathy)

Alcoholic nephropathy is associated with the effect of chronic alcohol on the immune system both at the expense of a direct membrane-toxicity effect with an effect on the production of cytokines, and due to a violation of the regulation of immunity in the central nervous system and the liver.

Renal artery stenosis: diagnosis

Diagnosis of stenosis of the renal artery requires an objective search for atherosclerotic stenosis and depends on the characteristics of arterial hypertension, chronic renal failure, and signs of widespread atherosclerosis.

Renal artery stenosis: causes and pathogenesis

The cause of stenosis of the renal arteries is described by the concept of risk factors that is generally accepted for other clinical variants of atherosclerosis. It is generally believed that atherosclerotic stenosis of the renal arteries is formed by the combination of several cardiovascular risk factors and their severity - "aggression".

Atherosclerotic Stenosis of the Renal Artery

Atherosclerotic stenosis of the renal arteries (ischemic kidney disease, atherosclerotic renovascular hypertension) is a chronic kidney disease that manifests itself as signs of global renal hypoperfusion: a decrease in GFR, arterial hypertension, and an increase in nephrosclerosis due to hemodynamically significant narrowing of the main renal arteries by atherosclerotic plaques.

Prophylaxis of pyelonephritis

With frequent exacerbations of pyelonephritis (more than two within 6 months), prevention of pyelonephritis consists in the appointment of monthly preventive courses (1-2 weeks) of antibacterial drugs, but reliable data indicating the feasibility of such courses have not been received at this time.

Antibiotics for pyelonephritis

Antibiotics used to treat pyelonephritis should have high bactericidal properties, a broad spectrum of action, minimal nephrotoxicity and excreted in urine in high concentrations.

Treatment of pyelonephritis

Treatment of pyelonephritis should be comprehensive, lengthy, individual, aimed at eliminating the cause in each specific case.

Diagnostics of the pyelonephritis

When examining, usually draw attention to the signs of dehydration, dry lined tongue. Possible bloating, forced bending and bringing the leg to the body on the side of the lesion.

Symptoms of pyelonephritis

In some cases, more often in women, acute pyelonephritis begins with acute cystitis (frequent and painful urination, pain in the bladder, terminal hematuria). Other symptoms of acute myelonephritis: general weakness, weakness, muscle and headaches, lack of appetite, nausea, vomiting.
