Release form

The medication is released in the form of an aerosol, in 116 g cans equipped with a sprayer.

Pharmacodynamics

Para Plus is a complex drug that is used for lice infestation in the scalp area.

The medicinal effect of the drug is developed by the insecticidal effect of its active elements. Malathion is an organophosphorus type insecticide, and the component permethrin is an anti-insect poison with neurotoxic properties.

Piperonyl butoxide potentiates the effect of permethrin.

Dosing and administration

The use of the Para Plus aerosol is permitted only externally.

By pressing the sprayer of the can, it is necessary to evenly treat the scalp with the medicine, as well as the hair along its entire length. Then it is necessary to wait 10 minutes, leaving the head uncovered for this period of time, and then wash the aerosol off the hair and head, using a standard shampoo.

To remove nits and dead lice that remain on the head and hair, use a fine-toothed comb.

In addition, to prevent the possibility of relapse, all personal items belonging to the patient (his pillows, all hats, as well as towels with collars, etc.) should be treated with the medicine.

If the patient has a severe infection, it may be necessary to re-administer the drug, which is carried out after 1 week.

Reviews

Para Plus is often used to eliminate pediculosis, a problem that is quite common these days. However, patient reviews regarding its effectiveness are quite varied.

There are people who have been helped by this medicine to completely eliminate this problem, but there are also many patients who have not seen the expected result. There is also a group of people who have experienced severe side effects from the aerosol, such as skin burns and damaged hair.

It should be noted that negative reactions were usually observed in people who used the aerosol incorrectly (longer than indicated in the drug instructions) or in people with hypersensitivity to its components.

In addition, the low effectiveness of the drug can be explained by the fact that only the patient’s head was treated, without additional disinfection of all the objects he used – a relapse of the infection can occur through them.

Considering all of the above, it can be assumed that if the medicine is used correctly and the doctor’s instructions are followed, the aerosol will be quite effective and will help eliminate pediculosis (in most cases).
