It is used for colds when the upper respiratory system is affected (viscous sputum and cough are observed against the background of the disease).
Release form
The therapeutic drug is released in capsules (10 pieces inside a blister pack). There are 2, 3 or 5 such packs in a pack.
Pharmacodynamics
Anise essential oil has antispasmodic, expectorant and antibacterial properties.

Dosing and administration
Adolescents over 12 years of age and adults take 1 capsule of the medication orally 3 times a day after meals (it should not be chewed, it should be swallowed and washed down with water (1 glass is recommended)).
The duration of the treatment cycle is selected by the doctor, taking into account the type of the disease and its nature. It is not recommended to take capsules continuously for more than 14 days.
If there is no result during the first 3 days of therapy using Dr. Theiss, or if headaches, dyspnea, fever, bloody or purulent sputum, as well as nasal discharge occur, you must immediately seek medical help.

Anethole and anise are often used as flavoring additives, and in these cases there is no data regarding the risk of their use during breastfeeding or pregnancy.
However, there is no information supported by tests regarding the use of this drug during the above periods, which is why it cannot be prescribed to these categories of patients.
Contraindications
Contraindicated for use in case of severe hypersensitivity to star anise oil, anise oil or other plants that belong to the umbelliferous family, as well as to anethole or other medicinal elements.

Individual intolerance to the medication may provoke the appearance of allergy symptoms, including hyperemia, epidermal edema or rash, bronchial spasm or itching. Sometimes there are also disturbances in the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract.
If the first symptoms of intolerance from the epidermis and respiratory tract develop, it is necessary to immediately stop using the drug.

Overdose
Using excessively large doses of the drug may increase the severity of its negative symptoms.
Consumption of 1-5 ml of anise oil (equivalent to approximately 50-100 capsules of LS) may result in vomiting, pulmonary edema, convulsions and nausea.
If the recommended dosage has been significantly exceeded, in addition to negative symptoms, there may be a potentiation of stomach pain, diarrhea and nausea. In such situations, medical assistance is required.
Shelf life
Dr. Theiss Anise Oil Capsules can be used within 36 months from the date of manufacture of the medicinal substance.

Application for children
It is prohibited to prescribe in pediatrics (under 12 years of age), because the medicine contains estragole.
