Calcemin helps to replenish the deficiency of calcium, micro- and macroelements, as well as vitamin D, and in addition, controls the process of calcium-phosphorus metabolism.
Indications Calcemin
Indications for prescribing the drug include:
- a preventive measure against osteoporosis, as well as other pathologies of the musculoskeletal system;
- a preventive measure against periodontal and dental pathologies;
- replenishment of the body's deficiency of minerals and vitamins if there is a deficiency of these substances in the diet;
- for children during periods of intensive growth;
- nursing mothers, as well as pregnant women.
Release form
It is produced in the form of capsule-like tablets with a volume of 250 mg. Contained in a polyethylene bottle. One bottle can contain 30, 60 or 120 pcs.
Calcemin Advance helps to reduce the rate of bone loss and corrects problems with the calcium metabolism process. It is used to eliminate dental pathologies and diseases of the musculoskeletal system. It can be prescribed to adults and children (12+ years). It is often prescribed to women during pre- and postmenopause (especially if HRT is prohibited). It is an integral part of the therapy for conditions in which there is a noticeable loss of bone mass.
It is a basic drug in case of using antiresorbents (calcitonin, HRT, and bisphosphonates), and in addition to this, bone tissue formation stimulants. It is used for systemic osteoporosis (as well as complications of the disease) and osteopenic syndrome.
Calcemin Kids are pink chewable tablets in the shape of animal figures with a fruity aroma and flavor. They are used to replenish calcium, minerals and vitamin D in children during their intensive growth. Used at the age of 3-12 years.
Calcemin Silver helps in the complex therapy of osteoporosis of various origins (senile, steroid, menopausal or idiopathic type), which is caused by prolonged immobility, as well as its complications (such as fractures, etc.). In addition - with periodontal disease and severe dental diseases.
Often prescribed to people over 50 years of age to reduce the risk of bone fractures in conditions of a lack of calcium, minerals and vitamin D in the diet.
Pharmacodynamics
The medicine is a special complex consisting of useful vitamins and minerals. Calcium contained in it is the main component that nourishes bone tissue. At the same time, it controls the permeability of vascular walls and conductivity along neuromuscular receptors and synapses. In addition, it activates the contractile function of smooth and skeletal muscles and is a necessary element in blood clotting. The medicine contains calcium in the form of citrate salt, as well as calcium carbonate. The maximum possible amount of the so-called elemental calcium is contained in calcium carbonate. Ca3 (C6H5O7) 2 reduces the dependence of the bioavailability of the active substance on the state of the gastrointestinal mucosa, and in addition, prevents the formation of stones in the urinary system even with prolonged use. In addition, it removes excess parathyroid hormone.
Vitamin D (the substance cholecalciferol) helps to absorb calcium faster and also promotes the restoration and construction of bone tissue structure.
Zinc is a component of various enzymes contained in the body (there are 200+ types of them), the function of which is to bind nucleic acids to proteins. In addition, this element helps growth along with cell restoration and the formation of gene expression. It has a positive effect on the activity of the ALP enzyme.
Manganese helps the process of binding the components of bone and cartilage tissues (glycosaminoglycans). It also increases the calcium-saving properties of vitamin D.
Copper helps form collagen and elastin and prevents the process of demineralization of bone structures.
Boron stabilizes the activity of the parathyroid gland hormone – parathyroid hormone (it is involved in the process of magnesium and phosphorus metabolism, as well as cholecalciferol and calcium). The effect of parathyroid hormone on mineral metabolism processes does not depend on whether the body receives vitamin D3.
Pharmacokinetics
Calcium is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and excreted with urine and then with feces. The absorption of this component occurs due to the activity of calbindin (an enzyme of the intestinal mucosa). The biosynthesis of the substance calbindin is directly dependent on calcitriol (a breakdown product of vitamin D).
Vitamin D is quickly absorbed from the intestines, passes into the liver, skeletal system, adipose tissue, as well as the adrenal glands and heart muscles. After this vitamin is excreted with bile, it is reabsorbed. Then it is partially converted into inactive decay products.
Zinc is excreted mainly through the intestines (90%), and the remainder is excreted through the kidneys (10%).
Copper is partially absorbed from the intestine, and the remainder is excreted unchanged or in the form of insoluble complexes. 80% of copper is eliminated with bile, another 16% through the intestine, and the remaining 4% through the kidneys. A small portion of the substance can also be eliminated through the sweat glands.
Boron is absorbed from the intestines and eliminated through the kidneys (90%).
Dosing and administration
Children aged 12+ and adults are prescribed 1 tablet 2 times a day. Children aged 5-12 years – 1 tablet 1 time per day. The medicine should be taken before or during meals. The duration of the treatment course is selected individually, there are no time limits.
For pregnant women, as well as women during the breastfeeding period, the dosage is 1 tablet 2 times a day. Calcemin may be prescribed only from the 20th week of pregnancy.
Use Calcemin during pregnancy
The drug is permitted to be used during pregnancy and lactation.
