Canison has a fungistatic and fungicidal effect (their development depends on the size of the dosages used).

Indications Canizon

The cream is used to treat the following disorders and pathologies:

  • mycoses affecting the epidermis, associated with microflora that is sensitive to drugs;
  • mycotic lesions affecting the ears;
  • fungal infections of the scalp;

  • vulvovaginitis;
  • superinfections in the vaginal area;

Pharmacodynamics

Dimorphic and mold fungi, as well as dermatophytes and blastomycetes with actinomycetes are sensitive to the drug.

The active element of Canison slows down the processes of binding of molecules of the component ergosterol (it is necessary for the formation of membranes of fungal cells). The disruption of the binding of this substance contributes to the destruction of cell membranes and changes in the intracellular structure. As a result, the fungal cells die.

At the same time, clotrimazole has a retarding effect on peroxidases, potentiating the activity of oxidative processes inside cells.

The medicine also has an antibacterial effect on staphylococci with corynebacteria and streptococci. In addition, it effectively affects amoebas with trichomonads.

Pharmacokinetics

Canison has a high ability to penetrate into various layers of the epidermis. The drug does not have resorptive properties.

After intravaginal use, only a local effect is observed; a minimal amount of the active element of the drug is absorbed through the vaginal mucosa.

Dosing and administration

Suppositories are inserted into the vagina using a special applicator. A suppository is first inserted into it, after which it is inserted deep into the vagina. After using this device, it must be washed thoroughly. The patient must remain in a lying position until the suppository has completely dissolved.

The procedure is performed 1-2 times a day. In case of a single administration of the drug per day, the procedure is recommended to be performed in the evening, before going to bed. Usually such therapy lasts 6 days; if necessary, this course can be repeated.

When diagnosing a candidal form of balanitis or vulvitis, it is necessary to combine tablets with cream, which is applied to the affected areas 2-3 times a day.

One portion of the drug solution is 10-20 drops. This dosage is applied to the epidermis or mucous membranes in the affected areas.

Scheme of using the cream.

The cream is used externally only. Every day, apply a thin layer to the infected area. Repeat this procedure 2-3 times a day. Before using the cream, clean and dry the areas that were affected by the infection.

Therapy usually lasts for 1 month. People with pityriasis versicolor should use the drug for 21 days, and people with mycosis in the area of the feet should use the cream for 14 days.

The duration of the treatment cycle is selected by the doctor on an individual basis, but it is not recommended to carry out therapy in short courses, because this may lead to a relapse of the disease in the future.
