The drug Benta is included in the category of enterosorbents.
Indications of the bents
It is used for symptomatic therapy in the following cases:
- with acute diarrhea in children (over 1 month) and adults in combination with a solution for internal rehydration;
- with diarrhea of chronic type;
- with pain developing on the background of intestinal and esophagogastroduodenal pathologies.
Release form
Produced in powder form, the volume of the first sachet is 3.76 g. Within the individual package - 10, 20 or 30 or 40 sachets.
Pharmacodynamics
Smectite is a natural medicine - the 2-nd silicate, which combines magnesium with aluminum.
The stereometric structure and strong plastic viscosity impart a substance to the ability to envelop the mucosa of the digestive tract. Interacting with the glycoproteins located inside the mucosa, the drug enhances the resistance of mucus to irritants. Possessing a powerful binding effect and acting on the barrier properties of the gastrointestinal mucosa, Benta enhances its protective function.
The medicine does not stain feces, nor does it affect passage through the intestine when taken in standard doses.
Dosing and administration
Dosages for the treatment of acute diarrhea:
- infants from 1 month to 1 year are required to take 2 sachets per day in the period of 3 days, and then 1 sache per day;
