The cardiovascular system

Heart

The heart (cor) is a hollow muscular organ that pumps blood into the arteries and receives venous blood. The heart is located in the thoracic cavity in the organs of the middle mediastinum.

Veins

Given the structure of the walls, there are two types of veins: the muscle and the muscle. The veins of the jawless type are the veins of the hard and soft meninges, the retina of the eye, bones, spleen and other organs of the immune system.

Microcirculatory bed

The arterial link of the vascular system is terminated by the vessels of the microcirculatory bed. In each organ according to its structure and functions, the vessels of the microcirculatory bed can have structural features and microtopography.

Arteries

Arteries, blood supplying the walls of the body, are called parietal (parietal), arteries of internal organs - visceral (internal). Among the arteries, also the extraorganic, carrying blood to the organ, and intraorganic branches within the organ and supplying it with separate parts (lobes, segments, lobules) are also isolated.

Structure of the cardiovascular system

The heart and blood vessels belong to the cardiovascular system. The cardiovascular system performs the functions of blood transport, and, together with it, nutrient and activating substances to organs and tissues (oxygen, glucose, proteins, hormones, vitamins, etc.). From organs and tissues through the blood vessels (veins) are transferred the products of metabolism.
