Release form
Released in tablets, 10 pieces in a blister pack. In a pack - 2 blister plates.
Pharmacodynamics
Anthranoids, which are components of aloe, and also inside the buckthorn bark, have a laxative effect. This mechanism is due to the effect of the drug on the motility of the colon - it carries out processes of suppression of spasms, as well as stimulation of propulsive contractions. As a result, the passage of feces inside the intestine is accelerated, which also reduces the resorption of fluid.
At the same time, due to the active excretion of chlorides, electrolytes are also excreted with water. The laxative effect is observed 6-10 hours after taking the tablet.
Pharmacokinetics
Anthranoids, which have a β-glycosidic bond, are the original bonds that are not subject to absorption and absorption processes in the upper gastrointestinal tract. Only inside the large intestine are these elements converted by enzymes of the bacterial flora, as well as the mucous (partially) into free-type aglycones (emodin). These substances are decay products that have a laxative effect.
Only 20-25% of the dose taken orally is absorbed in the body. The bioavailability of emodin is significantly lower than the absorption rates because it is rapidly oxidized to rein and an unknown breakdown product. In serum, the substance reaches peak levels 1.5-3 hours after administration. Peak serum levels are approximately three times higher than those in the ovaries and ten times higher than those in the testes.
Most of the decay products are transformed inside the cells of the intestinal mucosa and then excreted with feces. The remainder of the substance undergoes a process of resorption and is excreted in the form of sulfates or glucuronides with urine.
Dosing and administration
Dosage of the drug for adolescents from 12 years of age and adults: take 1-2 tablets per day or before bedtime. The tablet must be washed down with water (1 glass).

Side effects Alaksa
Occasionally, taking the pills may cause spastic pain in the gastrointestinal tract (this is especially true for people with IBS) – in this case, the dosage needs to be reduced.
Occasionally, disturbances in the functioning of the heart may occur in the form of arrhythmia (an additional factor contributing to the development of the disorder is the combined use of Alax with diuretics, CG and corticosteroids).
Overdose
Common signs of overdose include cramping abdominal pain and severe diarrhea, which can lead to loss of electrolytes and fluid.
Therapy is aimed at eliminating the symptoms of the disorder. Rehydration procedures are also performed. In addition, blood electrolytes should be monitored.
