Aknestop has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activity.
Indications Acnestopa
It is used for the treatment of common acne, as well as pathological hyperpigmentation (chloasma or melasma).
Release form
The drug is released in the form of a 20% cream, inside 30 g tubes.
Pharmacodynamics
The active component of the drug has an antibacterial, anti-acne and depigmenting effect. Antibacterial activity develops in relation to microbes that provoke the formation of acne: golden and epidermal staphylococci, acne propionibacteria and streptococci. The effect develops with a slowdown in cellular oxidoreductase and a decrease in the production of free radicals that support the development of inflammation. The effect develops inside the sebaceous glands and on the epidermis.
Nonanedioic acid stabilizes keratinization and inhibits the formation of fatty acids on the epidermis, which contribute to the occurrence of acne. Nonanedioic acid has anti-inflammatory properties, suppresses the activity and growth of abnormal melanocytes, which provoke the development of hyperpigmentation in the form of melasma.
An inhibitory effect (depending on the duration of use and the portion size) on the growth of pathogenic melanocytes is observed. It can be assumed that this occurs due to the inhibition of melanocyte DNA binding processes.
During drug tolerance tests, no symptoms of negative effects were detected even when treating large areas of the epidermis. Bacterial resistance does not develop with prolonged use.
Pharmacokinetics
After the epidermis is treated, the active element penetrates into all skin layers. Faster penetration of the substance is observed on the affected areas of the skin. When applying 5 g of the drug (corresponding to 1 g of nonanedioic acid), only 3.6% of the portion is absorbed.
Part of the drug is excreted unchanged in the urine, and the remainder is oxidized, converted into a dicarboxylic acid, after which it is also excreted in the urine.
Dosing and administration
The cream should be used locally, after washing the treatment area with plain water. Then the skin is dried and the affected areas are treated with the medicinal substance twice a day. The application procedures should be carried out regularly.
The duration of the therapeutic cycle for acne is determined by the severity of the disease. Noticeable improvement should be noted after 1 month, but continuous long-term use (up to six months) will be required to achieve the optimal effect. In case of severe skin irritation, the frequency of procedures should be reduced (once a day) or therapy should be stopped for several days. After the signs of irritation disappear, treatment is resumed using the same portion.
Melasma on the skin is cured quite simply. The cream should be used for at least 3 months. During therapy for this pathology, it is imperative to use sunscreens with a high degree of protection.
After finishing the treatment procedure, you need to wash your hands. The cream should not get on the mucous membranes or in the eyes. In cases where this does happen, you need to rinse the area with plenty of running water.

Use Acnestopa during pregnancy
There are no adequate tests of topical nonanedioic acid products in pregnancy.
Animal tests have not shown any direct or indirect harmful effects on pregnancy, embryonic and fetal development, labor, or postnatal development.
The medication should be prescribed during pregnancy with great caution.
There is no data on whether the drug is excreted in breast milk in vivo. However, in vitro tests have shown that the active element of the drug can penetrate into breast milk. It is expected that the distribution of nonanedioic acid in breast milk cannot cause significant changes relative to its baseline values, because it does not accumulate in breast milk and less than 4% of the topically applied substance is absorbed systemically (without increasing the endogenous exposure value of this component above physiological levels). However, nursing mothers should use Aknestop very carefully.
It is necessary to ensure that the child does not come into contact with the breast or other areas of the body treated with the cream.
Contraindications
Contraindicated for use in case of intolerance to nonanedioic acid.
Side effects Acnestopa
Side effects often include burning, flaking, irritation and dryness of the epidermis, as well as itching, changes in the color of the epidermis and erythema.
Occasionally, such manifestations as skin depigmentation, inflammation in the lip area, seborrhea, paresthesia, eczema or vesicles in the treatment area appear, as well as signs of intolerance and exacerbation of bronchial asthma.
Local irritations disappear on their own during the course of therapy.

Reviews
Aknestop receives quite contradictory reviews from patients who have used it. This can be attributed to the fact that different people have different degrees of acne severity, as well as different concomitant diseases. At the same time, it is necessary to take into account that acne requires complex therapy. In addition to using the drug, you also need to give up bad habits, restore intestinal microflora, follow a diet and improve liver function.
Among the disadvantages, many people also complain that the medicine leaves marks on the epidermis.
