Pharmacodynamics

The active component of the drug has antibacterial, anti-acne and depigmenting effect. Antibacterial activity develops against microbes that provoke the formation of acne: golden and epidermal staphylococci, propionibacteria acne and streptococci. The effect develops when the cellular oxidoreductase is slowed down and the production of free radicals supporting the development of inflammation decreases. The effect develops within the sebaceous glands and on the epidermis.

Nonanedioic acid stabilizes keratinization and inhibits the formation of fatty acids on the epidermis that contribute to the appearance of acne. Nonanedioic acid has anti-inflammatory properties, inhibits the activity and growth of abnormal melanocytes, which provoke the development of hyperpigmentation in the form of melasma.

There is an oppressive effect (taking into account the duration of use and the size of the portion) with respect to the growth of pathogenic melanocytes. It can be assumed that this is due to the inhibition of melanocyte DNA binding processes.

During drug tolerance testing, no symptoms of negative effects were found even in the case of extensive epidermal patches. With prolonged use, the resistance of bacteria does not develop.

Pharmacokinetics

After treatment of the epidermis, the active element passes inside all skin layers. A faster penetration of the substance is noted on the affected areas of the skin. When applying 5 grams of medication (corresponding to 1-g nonanedioic acid) only 3.6% of the dose is absorbed.

Part of the drug in the unchanged state is excreted together with the urine, and the residue is oxidized, converted into dicarboxylic acid, after which it is also excreted in the urine.

Dosing and administration

Use the cream locally, after washing the treatment site with plain water. Further, the skin is dried and 2 times in a day, the affected areas are treated with a drug substance. The application procedures should be carried out regularly.

The duration of the therapeutic cycle for acne is determined by the severity of the disease. A marked improvement should occur after 1 month, but to obtain the optimal effect, continuous continuous use (up to six months) will be required. With severe skin irritation, the frequency of procedures should be reduced (1-fold per day) or the therapy can be canceled for several days. After the disappearance of signs of irritation, the treatment is resumed using the same portion.
