Symptoms of rosacea-keratitis
Rosacea-keratitis begins with the appearance of one or more nodules of infiltration. Their surface is eroded, then the infiltrate is necrotic. To the formed ulcer, surface neoplasms are suitable. The pericorneal injection of vessels and the triad of corneal symptoms are very pronounced. After 3-4 weeks, epithelialization of the defect may occur. The eye calms down, but not for long. Together with a new attack of rosacea, a new nodule (or nodules) of infiltration in the cornea appears with the formation of a deeper ulcer and the ingrowth of new vessels. In the period of scarring, a vascularized belly with bright white calcareous inclusions is formed. Subsequent relapses become more frequent. Heals an ulcer in one eye, and after a few days opens in another. Sometimes patients do not have time to go to work, as there is inflammation in the other eye.
Frequent recurrence leads to disability. The weeding scars thinner and deform the cornea, often form fistulas. The visual acuity decreases with each new exacerbation.
