Each eye moves (is rotated) by six muscles: four straight and two oblique. Disturbances in eye movements can be caused by injuries at different levels: the hemisphere, the stem, at the level of the cranial nerves and, finally, the muscles.
One-sided weakness of facial muscles is caused by pathological processes that affect the facial (VII) nerve. Among pregnant women, as well as patients with diabetes mellitus and arterial hypertension, neuropathy of the nerve VII is more common than in the rest of the population.
One-sided local weakness of the leg muscles is often the initial stage of the lesion, which later becomes generalized. This is particularly characteristic, for example, for; amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, which often debuts with one-sided distal or proximal weakness; spinal muscular atrophy (rare), polymyositis and myasthenia gravis.
A one-sided hanging stop may have a peripheral or central origin, and on this basis, it is necessary to consider the various causes of the onset of this condition.
A person can experience unpleasant sensations, such as pain and burning in the throat, increased thirst, diarrhea, nausea, attacks of dizziness. Mucous membranes acquire a brownish hue, sometimes cramps occur.
