Chronic gastritis is a disease of the stomach in which its mucous membrane experiences disruptions in renewal (regeneration) and dystrophy of epithelial cells with the final outcome in atrophy, which is accompanied by disruption of the secretory, motor and other functions of the stomach.

Physiotherapy for chronic gastritis is due to the possibility of relieving pain, targeted influence on the secretory and motor functions of the stomach, as well as stimulation of the regeneration of the gastric mucosa.

In case of prolonged and severe pain syndrome and dyspeptic disorders accompanied by loss of ability to work, treatment of patients with chronic gastritis is carried out in hospital conditions. The following methods (factors) of physiotherapy are used in the complex of therapeutic measures carried out in the hospital:

  • galvanization and medicinal electrophoresis;
  • ultrasound therapy (for gastritis with preserved and increased secretion);
  • exposure to diadynamic currents;
  • exposure to sinusoidal modulated currents (for gastritis with increased secretion);
  • UHF therapy (for gastritis with increased secretion);
  • inductothermy (for gastritis with decreased secretion);
  • laser (magnetic laser) therapy;
  • balneotherapy (various baths, drinking mineral waters).

Treatment of patients with chronic gastritis with less pronounced symptoms of the disease in the vast majority of cases is carried out in outpatient and polyclinic conditions or at home. In this case, the list of physiotherapy methods is reduced. Consequently, a general practitioner (family doctor) should use possible, but most effective physiotherapy methods for this pathology. These include medicinal electrophoresis using the Elfor-I (Elfor™) device, laser (magnetic laser) therapy and complex information-wave exposure using the Azor-IK device. The methods for performing procedures with the listed methods are similar to those for functional gastric disorder.

It is possible to carry out procedures sequentially in one day for chronic gastritis in outpatient and polyclinic settings and at home:

  • electrophoresis of drugs in the epigastric region + information-wave impact on the frontal lobes of the brain 2 times a day (in the morning - 21 Hz, in the evening - 2 Hz) using the "Azor-IK" device;
  • laser (magnetic laser) therapy + information-wave impact on the frontal lobes of the brain 2 times a day (in the morning - 21 Hz, in the evening - 2 Hz) using the Azor-IK device.
