A tingling sensation, a "pins and needles" sensation, a feeling of pain and/or a disturbance of the skin's surface sensitivity are symptoms called paresthesia, or numbness of the body. This is the body's physiological reaction to a disturbance of the blood supply to certain parts of the body or to hypothermia of the extremities. It is not dangerous. Usually, you just need to change your body position, stretch, massage the muscles or warm up the skin of your hands or feet - and the numbness goes away.
Epidemiology
Numbness of the body is not considered an independent disease. It is a symptom that can indicate many pathological conditions and diseases in the body. Each of them has its own epidemiology. Carpal tunnel syndrome, in which fingers and hands go numb, affects people who work at a computer for a long time, musicians, secretaries. Raynaud's disease (syndrome) is hereditary, progresses as a result of stress and intoxication. It most often affects women from 20 to 40 years old, who spend a lot of time at a computer monitor, in an unbalanced emotional state.
If osteochondrosis itself develops in people aged 20-30, then protrusions of intervertebral discs and hernias occur after 30-40 years. First of all, people who encountered scoliosis in adolescence get sick. A sedentary lifestyle and excess weight are significant risk factors.
The first symptoms of multiple sclerosis appear at the age of 35-40 years. But in some cases, children and the elderly can also be susceptible to the disease. Brain tumors are more common in people over 45 years of age. But there are cases when they are found in young people. Some types of tumors can only occur in children. Those who are exposed to ionizing radiation, victims of man-made disasters are at risk.
Spinal tumors have a very complex pathogenesis. Partly, these are hereditary factors, in many cases, they are rapidly growing neoplasms. But their nature is still not sufficiently studied. Due to the large number of man-made disasters, the number of patients with oncology of the brain and spinal cord has increased in recent decades.
Polyneuropathy, as a cause of numbness and burning in the body, is a consequence of diabetes. This is one of the most common endocrine diseases in the world. Heredity is one of the main risk factors. This also includes: obesity, hypertension and atherosclerosis, children born with a large weight. In recent years, the number of people with diabetes has been growing rapidly.
Stroke is an acute disorder of cerebral circulation. It affects both adults (over 40 years old) and young people aged 20-30 years; there are also cases of strokes in childhood.
Causes numbness
If we exclude hypothermia of the extremities and temporary compression of the nerve, then the causes of numbness may be associated with the following diseases:
- osteochondrosis, hernias, protrusions of intervertebral discs, radiculitis (nerve roots are compressed);
- oncological formations in the spine, brain tumors;
- stroke;
- multiple sclerosis;
- joint deformation resulting in nerve damage;
- heredity;
- vitamin B12 deficiency in the body;
- tunnel syndrome (compression of a peripheral nerve);
- heavy metal poisoning;
- neuropathy, polyneuropathy (in diabetes mellitus);
- numbness of the limbs in pregnant women associated with tunnel syndrome;
- numbness of parts of the face and limbs in children associated with increased anxiety or trauma.
In any case, you can't know how serious it is until you consult a doctor. He will order an examination and find out the cause.
Pathogenesis
If the numbness of the body does not go away after some time, periodically recurs or is accompanied by dizziness, loss of balance, these are signs of diseases of the central nervous system or blood vessels. Sometimes the symptoms of a stroke or a brain tumor can cause numbness of a limb or one side of the body. In such cases, it is necessary to contact specialists, especially if the symptoms appeared after an injury.
Let's consider the mechanism of occurrence of numbness symptoms.
Pathogenesis of stroke. Sudden difficulty and slowness of speech, immobility and numbness of facial muscles, difficulty smiling, impaired motor functions of the left side of the body - all these symptoms develop as a result of impaired blood circulation in the brain, damage to its areas responsible for skin and sensitivity, motor activity.
These are warning signs and immediate hospitalization is required.
Intervertebral hernias, disc protrusions. Numbness and loss of sensitivity of the fingertips or lower extremities are associated with compression of spinal nerves by bone growths, or pressure on them by intervertebral discs during a hernia. Often accompanied by back pain.
Tunnel syndrome (carpal tunnel syndrome), Raynaud's syndrome. Numbness of the fingers and hands is associated with long-term work at the computer, metabolic disorders, obesity. More common in women. Caused by compression of the median or ulnar nerves. Narrowing of the blood vessels in the hands.
In polyneuropathy, numbness is associated with diabetes. Blood tests for sugar levels can confirm or refute the diagnosis.
Multiple sclerosis. Along with changes in tactile sensitivity of the skin and its numbness, multiple sclerosis is accompanied by about fifty more symptoms. It is extremely difficult to diagnose, multiple sclerosis is treated for a long time. The disease occurs as a result of the destruction of the myelin sheath of the brain and spinal cord. Plaques are formed at the sites of damage, which lead to impaired sensitivity.
Brain tumors. Symptoms of paresthesia (numbness) in a brain tumor are dangerous because they are not constant. In this case, one half of the body goes numb.
Vitamin B12 deficiency and heavy metal (lead) poisoning. Vitamin B12 is responsible for metabolic processes in the body. Its deficiency causes weakness and loss of sensitivity. Lead poisoning of the body causes the same symptoms. The cause can be determined by the overall clinical picture and blood tests, as well as screening for toxins or metals.
Deformation of joints. The nerve is compressed, resulting in loss of sensitivity in the limbs.
Oncological neoplasms of the spine. Numbness of the limbs is caused by the formation and growth of a tumor that presses on the spine and nerve endings.
Numbness of half of the body due to pregnancy is not dangerous. Compression of the spinal nerves by the enlarged uterus goes away after the birth of the child.
During diagnostics, specialists always pay attention to the heredity of patients.
Symptoms numbness
The main symptoms of numbness of the body include so-called "goosebumps" on the skin, numbness of the skin in some areas, pain and tingling in the palms and feet, the inability to freely move an arm or leg without discomfort, numbness of the fingertips, hands in the absence of other symptoms. Sometimes dizziness and instability (loss of balance) are observed. When some parts of the face are numb, there is difficulty in speech, facial expressions, and the inability to speak freely.
If numbness was preceded by an injury, pain sensations occur along with numbness in the limbs.
First signs
The first signs of numbness in the body include tingling and “burning” of the extremities, loss of skin sensitivity, the appearance of a “crawling sensation” combined with impaired mobility of the arms or legs.
The most dangerous signs are numbness of the left side of the body (face), impaired mobility of the limbs (passing from time to time). In this case, urgent medical care is needed. For diseases such as diabetes, multiple sclerosis, intervertebral hernias, tunnel syndrome, the characteristic first signs are numbness of the fingertips or toes.
Numbness on the right side of the body
Let's look at the possible causes of simultaneous and/or alternating numbness of the right arm or leg, regardless of body position and time of day.
Any numbness of the body is caused by a disruption in the blood supply to tissues and conductivity along nerve endings, a malfunction of the central nervous system. This happens with osteochondrosis, herniated discs, scoliosis.
It is important to remember whether the numbness was preceded by an injury or a severe headache. The causes of this condition may be a brain tumor or stroke.
Numbness on the left side of the body
Numbness of the left side of the body is often combined with a tingling sensation, decreased sensitivity of the skin and impaired motor functions of the left arm and/or leg. Dangerous accompanying signs include numbness of the facial muscles - a person cannot smile, speak clearly, feels a headache, has high blood pressure, weakness and dizziness. All these symptoms may indicate a hemorrhagic or ischemic stroke, acute cerebrovascular accident.
Numbness on the left side of the body can be a consequence of multiple sclerosis, brain tumors, or herniated cervical discs.
Numbness of the body during sleep
Often during daytime or nighttime sleep in an uncomfortable position, you can wake up from a feeling of discomfort - tingling and painful numbness of the limbs. This may be a consequence of compression of blood vessels during sleep. But if the symptoms of numbness do not go away long after sleep, or have become regular - you should take this seriously. Most often, hands go numb during sleep. Possible causes of this condition may be carpal tunnel syndrome and endarteritis, Raynaud's syndrome or disease, osteochondrosis of the cervical vertebrae.
Osteochondrosis of the cervical spine is accompanied by unpleasant pain in the back, neck, and shoulders.
Numbness of the body during sleep in combination with general cerebral disorders (severe headache, speech impairment, weakness of one half of the body) may indicate the development of a more serious pathology, such as a stroke or myocardial infarction.
Burning and numbness in the body
There are a number of diseases that are accompanied by burning and numbness in the body. This may be:
- osteochondrosis;
- intercostal neuralgia;
- poisoning by toxic substances;
- polyneuropathy (in diabetes mellitus);
- Raynaud's disease;
- fibromyalgia;
- Vegetative-vascular dystonia.
Let's consider the possible causes of a burning sensation in the extremities in combination with other symptoms:
- numbness of the ring finger and little finger on the left hand - carpal tunnel syndrome, an early sign of myocardial infarction, osteochondrosis of the cervical spine, neuropathy of the ulnar nerve;
- numbness in the fingertips is a sign of atherosclerosis or a deficiency of vitamin B 12 in the body;
- loss of sensitivity of the index and middle fingers, decreased motor function of the index and thumb, along with pain - arthrosis or arthritis of the joints of the hand, neuropathy of the brachial nerve, osteochondrosis of the cervical vertebrae;
- numbness of toes, feet, painful sensations in legs – varicose veins of the lower extremities, with joints, diabetic neuropathy.
Complications and consequences
Let's consider the possible complications and consequences of numbness of the body.
In case of stroke: speech impairment (slowness or absence), decreased or loss of skin sensitivity, vascular thrombosis, bedsores, pneumonia, paralysis, coma. Stroke is dangerous due to its high mortality rate. Almost always, this disease ends in disability, limitation of normal life activities.
With osteochondrosis of the spine: protrusions of intervertebral discs, which inevitably lead to hernias if left untreated. One of the most dangerous consequences of osteochondrosis can be compression of the vertebral arteries in the area of the cervical vertebrae with the development of vertebrobasilar insufficiency syndrome.
In diabetic polyneuropathy: nerve damage causing burning, numbness of the extremities, loss of skin sensitivity, especially in the legs, gangrene.
In case of oncological neoplasms of the brain and spine: motor function disorders, cancer cachexia, visual impairment, hearing loss, convulsions, coma.
In case of tunnel syndrome: complete impairment of hand function.
In multiple sclerosis: gait disturbance, blindness.
In Raynaud's syndrome and disease: ulcers on the hands and feet that take a long time to heal, tissue necrosis.
Complications most often arise from incorrect and untimely diagnosis. You should not try to treat yourself or delay a visit to the doctor.
Diagnostics numbness
For successful treatment of any disease, accurate diagnostics are important. Diagnosis of numbness of the body is complicated by the fact that these symptoms can be present in a number of diseases. Associated symptoms also play an important role.
If osteochondrosis, intervertebral hernias and disc protrusions are suspected, a vertebrologist may prescribe an MRI of the vessels of the head and neck, and an X-ray of the spine.
If you suspect carpal tunnel syndrome, you can perform self-diagnosis. Raise both hands up for 30 seconds. If there is no tingling or discomfort, this disease should be ruled out. If tingling does occur, you have CTS. The doctor may prescribe an ultrasound of the vessels of the upper and lower extremities, magnetic resonance imaging, and an electrocardiogram.
If Raynaud's syndrome, diabetes mellitus, or vitamin B12 deficiency are suspected, the general practitioner may prescribe blood tests and other instrumental studies (Doppler ultrasonography of the vessels of the upper and lower extremities) and study the overall clinical picture.
To rule out brain and spinal tumors, specialists in most cases prescribe an MRI of the brain and spinal sections.
Suspected hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes are especially dangerous. If speech is difficult, blood pressure is high, motor functions are impaired, especially on the left side of the face (body), you should immediately consult a doctor. A neurologist will make a diagnosis based on MRI, ECG, and blood tests.

Tests
To successfully diagnose the causes of numbness of the body, the doctor will first prescribe tests. They can be taken in a regular clinic or in a special laboratory. These include:
- general blood test (to detect iron deficiency and B12 deficiency anemia), plasma glucose level is measured, rheumatic tests, ESR and coagulogram;
- determination of blood lipid profile;
- blood test for vitamins and microelements;
- cerebrospinal fluid analysis (if multiple sclerosis is suspected);
[ 25 ], [ 26 ], [ 27 ], [ 28 ], [ 29 ]
Instrumental diagnostics
To start treatment and confirm (clarify) the diagnosis, the doctor may prescribe hardware (instrumental diagnostics) of the patient in addition to general tests. These include:
- Radiography.
- Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the spine with and without contrast.
- MRI of the brain.
- Magnetic resonance spectroscopy
- Computed tomography of the spine.
- Puncture spectroscopy (if a brain tumor is suspected).
- Electroneuromyography (EMG) is a study of the speed of impulse conduction along a nerve.
- Doppler of the vessels of the brain and neck.
- Electrocardiography (ECG).
- Thermal imaging (digital radiography).
Differential diagnosis
Doctors conduct differential diagnostics based on the overall clinical picture. If this is not enough to make a diagnosis, they connect hardware diagnostics and tests. Some diseases, the symptoms of which are numbness and burning in the body, have much in common with other diseases.
The first signs of a stroke have common symptoms similar to those of an epileptic seizure, severe alcohol poisoning, carbon monoxide poisoning, and traumatic brain injury.
Osteochondrosis of the spine can resemble ischemic heart disease (angina, myocardial infarction) in its general picture. Osteochondrosis and hernias are distinguished by constant pain. Symptoms of heart disease are more likely to be paroxysmal.
Differential diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome should be carried out with diseases such as:
- osteochondrosis of the cervical vertebrae;
- carpal tunnel syndrome;
- local pain in the wrist area;
- scalene muscle syndrome.

Treatment numbness
Treatment for numbness of the body depends on the disease that led to the development of this symptom.
For osteochondrosis the following is prescribed:
- drug treatment – anti-inflammatory, anti-edematous, angioprotective;
- local - manual therapy, massage;
- physiotherapy - magnetic therapy, ultrasound, laser therapy;
- Physical therapy, therapeutic exercises;
- acupuncture, vacuum therapy.
In case of hernia and protrusions, chondroprotectors are prescribed, and in some cases, surgical intervention.
For carpal tunnel syndrome, conservative treatment is prescribed - limiting hand movements, fixation, anti-inflammatory and diuretic drugs, drugs that improve blood flow in the vessels.
Physiotherapy and acupuncture are effective.
If conservative therapy is ineffective, surgery is performed, which involves cutting the wrist ligament under local anesthesia and restoring the blood supply to the hand.
Treatment of spinal neoplasms and brain tumors depends on its location, size, and general condition of the patient. Most often, combined treatment is used: a combination of surgical intervention, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy. Modern clinics use radiosurgery (gamma knife).
In diabetes, in addition to prescribed hypoglycemic drugs to control insulin and blood glucose, it is necessary to follow a strict diet and nutrition regimen to prevent the development of complications.
The main thing in the treatment of Raynaud's syndrome and disease is the normalization of the nervous system. It is possible to eliminate the symptoms of the disease by changing your lifestyle: improving working conditions, giving up bad habits. You should not allow your extremities to become too cold, or your feet to get wet.
In multiple sclerosis, it is only possible to alleviate the patient's condition and slow down the progression of the disease. Steroid anti-inflammatory drugs, plasmapheresis, and beta-interferons are prescribed.
Drug treatment
In the drug treatment of osteochondrosis, painkillers in powder form give a good but temporary effect - Nimesil (1 sachet 2 times a day), Olfen, Diclofenac, Indomethacin - 1 capsule 1-2 times a day.
Side effects include stomach pain, nausea, and intestinal upset.
Contraindications: people with gastrointestinal problems should take medications with caution.
Along with tablets, treatment with external combined medications is used. They relieve inflammation, improve blood flow, and relieve pain. These are Fastum-gel, Dolobene-Gel, Chondroxide-ointment.
Chondroprotectors are prescribed in tablets (Chondroxin, Alflutop, Glucosamine). They strengthen the tissue of the intervertebral discs. The dosage is determined by the attending physician individually. Novocaine blockades may be prescribed for rapid pain relief.
In diabetes mellitus, along with constant blood sugar monitoring, an endocrinologist may prescribe medications that stimulate the secretory functions of the pancreas (Glimepiride, Tolbutamide). Side effects include a sharp decrease in blood glucose concentration.
Metformin – increases tissue sensitivity to insulin. Side effects – gastrointestinal upset.
Acarbose, Miglitol - reduce the absorption of fast carbohydrates in the gastrointestinal tract, the body's need for insulin. Treatment and dosage are determined by the attending physician.
In case of carpal tunnel syndrome, analgesics and anti-inflammatory drugs (Nimesil) are prescribed to reduce swelling, relieve pressure on the nerve, and reduce pain. If they are not effective enough, Cortisone injections may be prescribed.
Raynaud's syndrome is treated with vasodilators and blood viscosity-reducing drugs, nicotinic acid. There are new, modern drugs - Nifedipine, Verapamil. The treatment regimen and dosage are prescribed by a specialist.
In multiple sclerosis, medications can slow the progression of the disease. These are immunosuppressants - Azathioprine, Simulect, Cyclosporine hexane, Certican. The dosage is calculated by the doctor. Side effects - headache, nausea, heaviness in the stomach are possible.
Traditional methods of treatment
Along with medication, folk methods of treatment can be used.
For Raynaud's disease:
- warm baths with fir oil (5-6 drops), 1-2 drops of oil can be added to food in the morning (contraindication - gastrointestinal tract diseases);
- Mix onion juice with honey in a 1:1 ratio, 1 tablespoon on an empty stomach one hour before meals, drink for 2 months.
For carpal tunnel syndrome:
Wear copper bracelets on your wrists at night.
Add a few drops of eucalyptus oil to the camphor ointment and rub into the limbs.
Make a honey compress for your hands: apply a thin layer of honey to your hands, wrap them in cotton cloth. 3-4 procedures are enough.
For diabetes:
Recipe from folk healer L. Kim: 100 g lemon zest, 300 g parsley root, 300 g peeled garlic. Grind the ingredients, mix, put in a jar and leave in a dark place for 14 days. Take 1 teaspoon three times a day, 30 minutes before meals.
In case of stroke, hospital treatment is indicated. But the rehabilitation period can be accelerated by using traditional methods of treatment along with physiotherapy and medications. Juice therapy is useful. A decoction of pine cones helps well. In March - April, pick cones from the tree, finely chop 5 pieces, boil over low heat in 0.5 liters of water for 5 minutes. Take ¼ glass after meals 2-3 times a day.
Phytotherapy
For Raynaud's disease, herbal treatment is recommended using the following mixture: take herbs in the proportion 1:1:1.5: garden rue: thyme: lemon balm. Mix the herbal mixture, pour a glass of boiling water over a teaspoon of the mixture and leave in a thermos for two hours. Drink the resulting decoction throughout the day in four doses of 50 ml.
In case of a stroke, an ointment can be prepared for rubbing into the affected areas of the body: 1 package of bay leaf, 5 parts of pine needles, 1 part of spruce needles, 12 parts of butter. Grind the herbs, mix with butter and rub into the affected areas twice a day. Alcohol tinctures of peony root and sage are good for restoring the nervous system. These preparations can be bought ready-made at the pharmacy.
For osteochondrosis, rubbing with herbal preparations is recommended: pour one glass of lilac flowers with 500 ml of vodka, leave for 7 days in a dark place, rub into sore spots. Infusion of yarrow flowers - for internal use.
Anti-inflammatory and painkiller: pour 1 tablespoon of flowers with a glass of boiling water, let it brew in a warm place for 40 minutes. Take warm 1 tbsp. three times a day before meals. The same decoction can be made from tansy flowers. Only you need to brew for about an hour. Strain the mixture. Take the same way.
For carpal tunnel syndrome, you can rub your fingers with an infusion of marsh rosemary in apple cider vinegar. Prepare it this way: 1 part marsh rosemary herb – 3 parts apple cider vinegar. Infuse for 7 days. Rub in 3 times a day.
Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy combined with medication gives a very good result. Its essence lies in the impact of physical factors on the body - mechanical energy, electrical energy, ultrasound, vibration, light, dirt. It has almost no contraindications. The doctor can prescribe physiotherapy during the treatment of the disease and during the rehabilitation period. In the latter case, sanatorium and resort treatment is recommended.
In case of osteochondrosis, diodynamic therapy (DDT), electrophoresis, mud therapy, ultraviolet radiation, and magnetic therapy are prescribed. During the acute period of the disease, physiotherapy is aimed at reducing pain syndrome.
For diabetes mellitus – electrophoresis of zinc, nicotinic acid on the iliac region, electrophoresis of calcium on the collar zone, magnesium and papaverine on the liver area.
In case of multiple sclerosis, magnetic laser irradiation is recommended to reduce spasms of the lower extremities and regulate decreased sensitivity. Electrosleep with low-frequency currents, cool pine baths, cryotherapy (use of low temperatures). Massage is recommended.
In case of tunnel syndrome, the condition is alleviated by paraffin baths for hands, hand massage, and exercise therapy.
For Raynaud's syndrome, the following physiotherapy procedures are prescribed:
- electrosleep;
- applications of ozokerite, paraffin, mud;
- magnetic therapy;
- electrophoresis (sedatives, antispasmodics);
- diodynamotherapy.
In acute periods of stroke, electrophoresis and electromyostimulation, magnetic therapy, darsonvalization are used. During the recovery period, pine and salt baths, heat and cold treatment, paraffin and ozokerite applications, and vibration massage are added to these procedures.
In the postoperative period after removal of a brain tumor, myostimulation and magnetic therapy are used as physiotherapy. And it should be remembered that biostimulants cannot be used.
Vitamins
Symptoms of numbness, tingling, itching and burning in the extremities are often associated with a deficiency of vitamin B 12 and folate.
Deficiency of this vitamin can lead to two types of anemia - megaloblastic and pernicious. Balanced nutrition, the presence of a sufficient amount of meat, dairy and fish dishes in the diet, can solve the problem of type I anemia.
For multiple sclerosis, vitamins B, thiamine, vitamin A, selenium, vitamin E and magnesium are often prescribed.
Vitamins B1, B6 , B12 play an important role in the treatment of diabetes, this is a neurotropic group that is responsible for the integrity of nerve cells. Vitamins A, E, C are also important.
During the rehabilitation period after a stroke, neurologists recommend taking vitamins fresh – in juices. Moreover, vegetable juices are the most useful – carrot, cucumber, beetroot, celery, lemon, potato juice.
In case of Raynaud's disease, symptoms can be alleviated by getting enough vitamin C in its natural form - rosehip decoction, vegetables, black currants; vitamin PP (rabbit meat, buckwheat, cod).
During periods of remission of osteochondrosis and hernias, it is recommended to take vitamins A, B1, B6 , B12 , C, D, E.
Homeopathy
Homeopathy is often used in combination with general drug treatment. For osteochondrosis, Traumeel S is prescribed. Homeopathic Mixture No. 1 and Homeopathic Mixture No. 2, along with traditional medications, are used in the treatment of diabetes. Homeopathic preparations Banerji Protocols, Lycopodium 30CH, give good results in the treatment of symptoms in oncological diseases of the brain. In case of stroke, it is possible to take such preparations as Arnica 3D, Auru Iodatum 6, Gvako 6, Rustox 6. Preparations are prescribed, individually calculating the dosage.
Prevention
In order to avoid the sensation of numbness of the body, burning and itching in the limbs after sleep, a comfortable sleeping place and an orthopedic pillow are necessary. If the pathological sensations are associated with carpal tunnel syndrome, it is necessary to modify the lifestyle:
- Quitting smoking and drinking alcohol
- Avoid working on the computer for long periods of time, especially before bedtime.
- Do not overload the brush.
- Avoid nervous stress.
In case of Raynaud's disease, massage, exercise therapy, spa treatment with physiotherapy, prevention of infections, concomitant diseases are indicated. It is forbidden to overcool, work with chemicals.
In case of osteochondrosis, hernias, protrusions, it is necessary to learn how to lift weights correctly, bend over, give up bad habits, sleep on an orthopedic mattress, and not stay in one position for a long time.
With diabetes, it is necessary to strictly follow a diet, proper sleep and rest, maintain proper water balance. Avoid stress, move actively, spend more time outdoors, and give up bad habits.
Stroke prevention is necessary for those who are at risk - hypertensive patients, those with atherosclerosis, coronary heart disease, and overweight people. A low-salt diet, quitting smoking and alcohol, losing weight, and monitoring blood pressure are recommended.
Forecast
Multiple sclerosis is a disease that is difficult to predict. You can count on a favorable prognosis if:
- the first symptoms were loss of sensation or vision;
- onset of the disease before the age of 25;
- low number of lesions according to MRI results;
- female gender.
The prognosis for stroke is quite disappointing - a large number of people - about 75% of those who have had a stroke - become disabled, and body sensitivity and motor functions are not fully restored. The main thing is timely medical care and properly selected treatment. This will help to avoid a repeated stroke.
Carpal tunnel syndrome is not a life-threatening condition, but if it is not treated in time, it can cause loss of finger sensitivity and hand motor function.
Osteochondrosis, if left untreated, leads to protrusions and hernias of the spine. And this is a decrease in motor activity, back pain, deterioration in the quality of life, disability.
The prognosis for tumors of the spine and brain depends on the timeliness of qualified medical care. You cannot ignore the symptoms of numbness of the body, back pain, headaches - these may be signals of a serious disease. In case of timely seeking help, the survival rate of patients is 60-80%.
