Blepharospasm is a spasm of the circular muscle of the eyelids. Blepharospasm occurs reflexively in diseases of the cornea. It is especially pronounced in children with tuberculous-allergic keratoconjunctivitis. The eyelids are convulsively compressed, the patient is unable to open them due to photophobia. With prolonged spasm, congestive edema of the eyelids appears.
Infection with specific infectious mycoses, including particularly dangerous fungal infections (histoplasmosis, blastomycosis, mold mycoses), is accompanied by pronounced sensitization.
Acute conjunctival-mucocutaneous syndrome (Stevens-Johnson disease) is a multiform exudative erythema, expressed in the appearance of a bullous rash on the skin and mucous membranes, and has a variable course.
There are two forms of drug dermatitis of the eyelids: acute and chronic. Depending on the degree of preliminary sensitization, the skin lesion of the eyelids develops more or less quickly.
Molluscum contagiosum of the eye is a dermatosis of children, especially those attending child care institutions. This is a highly contagious disease, has a viral etiology.
