Diseases of children (pediatrics)

Epiglottite

Acute epiglottitis is a disease of the larynx caused by a haemophilic rod of type b, leading to acute respiratory failure (acute respiratory failure of the obstructive type). Children are more often sick 2-12 years, rarely - adults.

Obstruction of the respiratory tract

Obstruction of the upper and lower respiratory tract. The causes of airway obstruction are various diseases and injuries. In cases where the obstruction of the gas flow during breathing occurs in the mouth, throat or larynx, respiratory disorders are considered due to obstruction of the upper respiratory tract, below the larynx - obstruction of the lower respiratory tract.

Shock in children

Shock is a pathological process, accompanied by a progressive mismatch in the delivery and consumption of oxygen, leading to a disruption of aerobic glycolysis and a decrease in the formation of ATP, which deficit in the function of cells. Clinically, the shock is manifested by generalized circulatory disturbances, with the progressive insufficiency of tissue perfusion being most common.

Angina and acute coronary insufficiency

With unstable angina, pressing, pulling or contracting pain behind the sternum arises with irradiation into the left arm and shoulder blade, which arises in response to physical and emotional stress, food intake, exposure to cold. Acute coronary insufficiency in children and adolescents is associated mainly with exogenous causes.

Dissecting aortic aneurysm

Symptoms of exfoliating aortic aneurysm can be varied. Dissecting aortic aneurysm can occur in patients with arterial hypertension, transplanted angiosurgical operations, Marfan syndrome and other hereditary connective tissue diseases.

Pulmonary artery thromboembolism in children

Development of thromboembolism of the pulmonary artery is facilitated by such factors as bed rest, heart disease, postoperative pathology, fractures, varicose veins, obesity.

Phlebthrombosis of the lower extremities

Phlebothrombosis of the lower extremities occurs in patients with severe general diseases, fractures.

Morgagni-Adams-Stokes Syndrome

Morgagni-Adams-Stokes Syndrome (MAC) is a syncopal condition developing against a background of asystole, followed by the development of acute cerebral ischemia. Most often it develops in children with atrioventricular blockade of II-III degree and syndrome of weakness of the sinus node with a ventricular contraction rate of less than 70-60 per minute in young children and 45-50 in older children.

Hypertensive crisis in children

Hypertensive crisis - a sudden increase in blood pressure, causing significant deterioration in health and requiring emergency care.

Atrial fibrillation

At present, brady- and tahisystolic forms of atrial fibrillation are distinguished. Due to the lesser influence on hemodynamics, the bradysystolic form of atrial fibrillation has a more favorable course. Clinically, the tachysystolic form can manifest itself as a right- and left ventricular failure. On the electrocardiogram, the intervals RR are different, there are no teeth P.
