The appearance of such symptoms indicates inflammatory or infectious processes in the body. Let's consider the most common diseases in men, which are characterized by burning, stinging and white discharge:

  1. Urethritis is an inflammation of the urethra, manifested by various urination disorders, discharge from the penis, pain, burning and stinging. The disease can be infectious or non-infectious. The first urethritis is divided into two groups:

Specific infectious:

  • Gonorrheal. [ 1 ]
  • Trichomonas. [ 2 ]

Non-specific, caused by various pathogens:

  • Chlamydia.
  • Fungi and viruses.
  • Mycoplasmas.
  • Ureaplasma. [ 3 ]

As for the non-infectious form, its causes include allergic reactions, injuries to the urethra or its narrowing.

Treatment methods depend on the form of inflammation and the reasons for its occurrence. Patients are prescribed antimicrobial and antibacterial drugs, local disinfectant procedures, and vitamin therapy.

  1. Candidiasis – occurs due to the proliferation of microscopic yeast-like fungi of the genus Candida. The main cause of thrush in men is problems in the immune system, stress, taking certain medications, endocrine pathologies. Acute and chronic forms of the disease are often signs of more serious pathologies (hormonal status, carbohydrate metabolism, state of bacterial microflora). [ 4 ]

The disease is characterized by the following symptoms:

  • Pain, burning and stinging during/after urination.
  • Discomfort during sexual intercourse.
  • Itching of the penis.
  • Swelling and redness of the foreskin.
  • White coating and discharge of a curd-like consistency with a sour smell.

The treatment is complex. The patient is prescribed antifungal drugs, washing the genitals with special solutions. As a preventive measure, a change in diet is recommended to normalize the gastrointestinal tract, and to improve the culture of personal hygiene.

  1. Trichomoniasis is a sexually transmitted infection. Its main symptoms include:
  • Burning and stinging in the urethra.
  • Discomfort and burning after ejaculation or urination.
  • Whitish discharge from the penis.

Diagnostics consists of examining the patient and collecting anamnesis. Also indicated is a study of discharge from the penis, urine and blood analysis. Differential examination for HIV infection, syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia is mandatory.

Antibacterial drugs and local therapy are used for treatment. If the painful condition is left to run its course, it can lead to inflammation of the prostate gland and damage to the bladder.

White discharge and itching in men

The main reason for the appearance of unpleasant discharge and itching in men is infectious or fungal diseases. The latter includes thrush. Candidiasis occurs due to infection with fungi of the genus Candida, which affects the mucous membranes of the external genitalia.

Causes of the painful condition:

  • Decreased protective properties of the immune system.
  • Infection during unprotected sex.
  • HIV infections.
  • Diabetes mellitus.
  • Poor nutrition and bad habits.
  • Long-term drug therapy.
  • Oncology.
  • Intestinal dysbacteriosis.

The main symptoms of the disease are white discharge of a curdled consistency and itching, burning. The discharge may have an unpleasant sour smell. A long-term disease leads to the spread of fungal infection ascending through the urethra. This in turn is dangerous due to the development of cystitis, prostatitis, and infertility.

Possible causes of white discharge and itching also include ureaplasmosis, chlamydia, mycoplasmosis, balanitis, balanoposthitis. The listed diseases occur with acute pain in the head of the penis, urination disorders, decreased libido, hyperemia of the foreskin and other pathological symptoms.
