Many women may experience abdominal pain in the middle of their cycle. This pain usually occurs in the middle or lower abdomen and is of a pulling nature. The pain may radiate to the vagina, sacrum or rectum. These pains may be frequent – they are experienced by every 6 women of reproductive age. Very often, there may be several causes for such pains.
What causes abdominal pain in the middle of the cycle?
This pain very often occurs due to bleeding from the ovary, although this bleeding is small. It occurs mainly in the middle of the cycle. This bleeding often irritates the abdominal wall, causing it to become inflamed and painful. Later, the bleeding no longer bothers, the blood clots. But the pain during bleeding can be both strong and weak. It depends on the characteristics of the woman's body and the nature of the bleeding - whether it is strong or weak.
One of the reasons for abdominal pain in the middle of the cycle may be the distance between the abdominal wall and the ovary. If it is small, the pain may be more intense. And pain in the middle of the cycle is usually caused by ovulation - the release of an egg from the ovary. Although ovulation causes severe pain in the lower abdomen, it does not provoke other diseases of the genitourinary system. This is a positive point. It is also good that these pains do not provoke additional diseases of the reproductive system.
Pain in the lower abdomen or in the middle of the abdomen during the cycle can be a consequence of many diseases of the reproductive system. These diseases are ovarian cysts, inflammation of the appendages, uterine fibroids, and genitourinary infections. If such pain occurs, it is best to immediately consult a doctor to determine the causes. If the genitourinary system is healthy, then these may be diseases of the pelvic organs. The causes may also be muscle strains, as well as ligaments that connect the internal organs.
Emotions caused by stress can damage the health of a woman's internal organs. But how can stress affect the health of the liver or kidneys? Very simple. The organs are attached to the spinal column with ligaments. When a woman is nervous or has experienced shock, the ligaments spasm and the organs can change position. Thus. The nerve endings and vessels that penetrate the organs can also twist, and this causes severe pain. If this coincides with the middle of the cycle, the pain can intensify. Spasms that occur due to muscle contraction must be treated to neutralize the pain. A doctor will consult and help cope with this condition.
Abdominal pain in the middle of the cycle due to gynecological problems
One of the most popular reasons why a woman develops pain in the middle of her cycle is inflammation of the reproductive system. If the destructive processes inside the abdomen in the middle of the cycle become acute, the pain can be localized in one area. In this case, the woman can be sick, her body temperature can rise sharply.
Pain in a woman's abdomen during the cycle can be pulling and intensify or occur after a gynecological examination, as well as after an examination of the rectal area. This is quite dangerous, since the pelvic organs become inflamed, and this requires immediate medical attention. It also greatly affects the woman's reproductive capacity.
Why does pain occur during ovulation?
Pain during ovulation can occur because the follicle emerging from the ovary develops its thin shell. This can cause pain, quite severe. These pains are located in the pelvic area and are of a girdle nature. Such pain lasts from 3-4 hours to 2-3 days. This is quite a long time. Therefore, such pains require additional consultation with a doctor. Especially if the pains are accompanied by lethargy and increased fatigue. In this case, you can take a No-Spa tablet - it will relieve spasms and relieve pain.
If the pain in the lower abdomen is also accompanied by vaginal bleeding, you should be concerned. Then you should immediately consult a gynecologist. The causes of pain may be diseases such as a cyst in the cervical canal, endometritis or myometritis.

Abdominal pain in the middle of the cycle is a serious problem that can occur in the presence of serious diseases. Therefore, if this pain lasts more than two hours, it is better to consult a doctor.

Ovarian disease in the acute stage
Such pain can bother a person in the form of an attack, it is localized in the lower abdomen on the right or left side - depending on where the inflamed ovary is located.
The cause of this pain may be a ruptured ovary or its torsion, as well as malignant or benign formations on the ovary. These pains can be very strong, and in case of a ruptured ovary, simply unbearable. They can intensify with irritation of the abdominal cavity by blood or ovarian ischemia. The more blood accumulates in the ovary, the stronger the pain in the peritoneum. This pain can be localized on one side, in the form of paroxysms. But in rare cases, constant, long-lasting pains also occur.
Pain with adhesions
Abdominal pain in the middle of the cycle may occur due to the emergence of pathogenic organisms that provoke inflammation of the internal organs. In addition to pain, a woman may see mucus coming out of her genitals - transparent, whitish or with bloody discharge. The latter is a sign of serious diseases of the reproductive system.
After a woman has had inflammation of the genital system, as well as operations, she may have chronic or acute diseases, she may also have adhesions. If these adhesions are torn due to a blow or physical overexertion, the woman may experience severe pain. This pain may cause a state close to shock.

The causes of this disease are treatment with infertility hormones. These hormones may include clomiphene, gonadotropin, and others. Swelling of the stroma may also be observed, and a large yellow cystic body may form.
