One of the possible causes of whitish discharge from the urethra in men is urethritis . With this disease, an infectious lesion of the urethral mucosa occurs with a viral or bacterial infection. This leads to the development of the inflammatory process and the formation of tissue edema. [1]
The risk group for this pathology includes people who have a high chance of contracting sexually transmitted diseases. Urethritis is formed against the background of inflammation of the organs of the urethra and due to exacerbation of chronic infections of the body.
In addition to pathological discharge, the disease has the following symptoms:
- Discomfort when urinating (pain, burning, cramps).
- Discharge with urine of blood or pus.
- Adhesion of the edges of the urethra.
- Unpleasant sensations when the urethra comes into contact with underwear.
- Redness of the area around the urethra.
In addition to urethritis, the appearance of white fluid from the urethra occurs against the background of ureplasmosis, chlamydia, mycoplasmosis, balanitis, balanoposthitis and various STDs.
This problem is diagnosed by a urologist. The doctor examines the patient, collects an anamnesis and gives direction to a complex of laboratory and instrumental studies. Based on the results of the diagnosis , a treatment plan and preventive recommendations are drawn up.
White discharge during and after urination in men
The process of emptying the bladder is urination. Normally, it does not cause pain and is not accompanied by the discharge of any liquids other than urine. The male urethra is a tube that removes fluid from the bladder and at the same time protects the organ from urinary tract infections. Part of the urethra passes through the prostate, so any pathological processes in the prostate gland are reflected in the process of urination.
The appearance of white discharge during or after emptying the bladder may indicate problems such as:
- Inflammatory diseases of the genitourinary system
- Inflammation of the urethra.
- Prostatitis (acute, chronic).
- Stones in the prostate.
- Inflammation of the bladder.
- Tumor lesions of the urinary tract.
- Venereal diseases.
- Pyelonephritis.
- Infectious diseases:
- Chlamydia.
- Candidiasis.
- Trichomoniasis. [2]
- Ureaplasmosis.
- Prostatitis. [3]
- Cystitis.
- Gonorrhea. [4]
Let's take a closer look at some of the possible diseases:
- Urethritis is inflammation/infection of the urethra. In addition to pathological discharge, it is accompanied by pain, problems with urination. In most cases, infection occurs during unprotected intercourse and is caused by bacteria or chlamydia. Without timely treatment, there is a risk of the infection spreading to other parts of the genitourinary system.
- Cystitis is an inflammation/infection of the bladder. The urethra, prostate, kidneys may be involved in the pathological process. The disease develops due to mechanical or chemical irritation of the mucous membrane, hormonal changes in the body, violation of the rules of intimate hygiene. It is manifested by frequent urge to urinate, burning, discharge of white discharge of various consistency. [5]
- Pyelonephritis is an inflammation or infection of the kidneys (the organ in which urine is formed). Manifested by a feverish state, dull fights in the kidneys and secretions. [6]
To establish the cause of the violation, a laboratory study of the separated fluid and instrumental diagnostics of the organs of the genitourinary system are carried out.
