Sea-buckthorn is not in vain considered an unusually useful berry, despite its sour, cheek-biting taste. It is a natural storehouse of useful vitamins and minerals, which contributes to the rapid recovery of body strength and recovery of patients.
Particularly appreciated sea buckthorn for the high content of vitamin E, unusually beneficial for the skin and mucous by its ability to stimulate the regeneration processes in them. The use of sea buckthorn and its oil in angina helps in a short time to restore the damaged mucous membrane of the throat and tonsils.
Sea-buckthorn is considered an excellent fighter with hypovitaminosis and is able to significantly increase immunity in a short time, creating conditions for angina to quickly recover and preventing complications of the disease and its transition to a chronic form. It is also an excellent prophylactic for the revelry of viral and bacterial infections.
But the sea-buckthorn berries have a very sour taste, and their use can be an additional irritant for the inflamed mucous, while the sea-buckthorn oil has a more tender taste, has an enveloping and no less pronounced regenerating effect, with tonsillitis relieves inflammation in the throat and the pains caused by it .
You can consume seabuckthorn berries and oil prepared from them both in the acute phase of the disease and during the recovery period, because they will promote a faster recovery and will not give the angina chances of complications. With purulent angina, the local application of sea buckthorn oil is possible only after cleansing the tonsils and throat from a specific plaque and crusts containing a bacterial factor. After all, in itself, sea buckthorn, although it can remove inflammation, has no appreciable bactericidal properties.
To combat bacterial infection, tea tree oil is more suitable, but again it needs to be applied after removal of pus and membranes.
Let's see what are the possibilities of using sea buckthorn oil in acute tonsillitis:
- For gargles of a throat we take 1 glass of warm water, we plant in it 1 ch.l. Sea buckthorn oil and a thin throat solution several times a day with an interval of 20-25 minutes. The next day you can find that the pain in the throat has disappeared, and the red color of the mucous membranes has become less saturated.
- For steam inhalations (in the absence of high temperature), take 1 to 2 tablespoons per 1 liter of hot water. Sea buckthorn oil. Breathe over the steam for 10 minutes, repeating the procedure 2-3 times a day.
- To lubricate the throat, the oil is used in its pure form. Dip a finger in it with a bandage wound on it beforehand, and carefully lubricate the tonsils. This procedure is most effective after the rinsing of the throat and cleaning it from bacterial plaque.
- For instillations in the nose, oil is also not diluted unless it is used to treat children who need to dilute any essential oils. In each nostril you need to drip 2-3 drops of oil and lie on your back for a while, so that the oil gradually drips down the back wall of the pharynx, creating a protective film on it.
- For compresses on the neck, oil can be used both in pure form, and diluting it with water or other oil. After applying a moistened wipe on the neck of the napkin, on top of it, polyethylene is applied and further insulated with a woolen cloth. Compresses can be done twice a day: in the morning and before bedtime.
Inside, you can take fresh berries with honey or sugar, compotes and drinks on their basis, which will positively affect the ability of the body to fight the disease.
