Ultrasound diagnosis (ultrasound)

Bladder ultrasound

Indications for bladder ultrasound: Dysuria or frequent urination. Hematuria (wait until the bleeding stops).

Preparation for ultrasound of kidneys and ureters

Preparation for ultrasound examination of the kidneys and ureters is aimed at creating optimal diagnostic conditions. Modern ultrasound equipment has a very high resolution and information capacity, however, the echogenicity of some areas, zones, organs and systems due to anatomical features is difficult without preliminary preparation.

Ultrasound of kidneys and ureters

Indications for ultrasound of the kidneys and ureters: pain in the kidneys or along the ureters, suspected renal tumor (large kidney), non-functioning kidney according to urography

Ultrasound signs of gastrointestinal pathology

If there is more fluid, the lateral recesses (the spaces between the parietal peritoneum and the colon) will be filled with fluid. As the amount of fluid increases, it will fill the entire abdominal cavity.

Ultrasound of the gastrointestinal tract

Where to get an ultrasound of the stomach, who is prescribed this procedure, and how the examination is carried out, we will consider these questions.

Ultrasound signs of a normal spleen

When the spleen is of normal size, it is difficult to obtain a complete image in one section. The splenic hilum is the starting point for the correct identification of the spleen. The splenic hilum is defined as the entry point of the splenic vessels.

Spleen ultrasound

Indications for ultrasound examination of the spleen: splenomegaly (enlarged spleen), formation in the left half of the abdomen, closed abdominal trauma.

Pancreatic ultrasound

Indications for ultrasound examination of the pancreas: pain in the epigastric region, acute and chronic, jaundice, formation in the upper abdomen.

Ultrasound of the gallbladder and biliary tract

Indications for ultrasound of the gallbladder Pain in the right upper quadrant of the abdomen: suspected presence of stones and/or cholecystitis. Jaundice. Palpable formation in the right upper quadrant of the abdomen.

Ultrasound signs of liver pathology

In micronodular cirrhosis of the liver, there is a diffuse increase in echogenicity and deformation due to scarring of the portal and hepatic veins. This is often associated with portal hypertension, splenomegaly, ascites, and dilation and varicose transformation of the splenic vein. The portal vein may have a normal or reduced diameter intrahepatically, but may be enlarged in the extrahepatic region.
