The main task of physiotherapy for migraine is to stop a headache attack by normalizing vascular tone. The capabilities of hardware physiotherapy at the time of a pain attack are limited. One of the optimal treatment methods in this case is the method of information-wave exposure using the Azor-IK device.

Migraine is a hereditary or acquired vascular disease of the brain, characterized by periodically occurring headaches, mainly in one half of the head. This pathology is based on a violation of vascular innervation, so the vessels react inadequately even to common irritants. In this case, either a vasospastic or vasoparalytic reaction occurs. There are simple, ophthalmic, ophthalmoplegic, associated, vestibular and abdominal forms of migraine.

The impact is carried out on bare skin. The impact method is contact, stable.

Fields of influence: I - IV - paravertebrally, two fields on the right and left at the level of CII, - ThIII, V - VI - on the right and left in the temporal region.

The radiation modulation frequency is 10 Hz.

The exposure time for fields I-IV is 10 minutes, for fields V-VI - 5 minutes.

During the non-attack period, patients undergo appropriate courses of physiotherapy procedures in outpatient settings.

For the vasospastic form of migraine, the following is prescribed:

  • diadynamic therapy in the projection area of the upper cervical sympathetic nodes;
  • amplipulse therapy in the projection area of the superior cervical sympathetic nodes;
  • electrophoresis of the collar zone with novocaine, euphyllin, seduxen;
  • darsonvalization of the head and collar zone;
  • magnetic therapy of the cervical-collar zone;
  • laser (magnetic laser) therapy of the cervical-collar zone.

For the vasoparalytic form of migraine, the following is prescribed:

  • calcium chloride electrophoresis of the collar zone;
  • general ultraviolet irradiation according to the basic scheme;
  • carbon dioxide baths;
  • circular shower;
  • contrast baths.

At home, the attending physician may perform electrophoresis of appropriate medications, magnetic therapy, and information-wave therapy during the inter-attack period of migraine.

Electrophoresis is performed using the Elfor-I (Elfor™) device. In the case of vasospastic migraine, the collar zone is treated with a solution of novocaine (0.25%), euphyllin (2%), and seduxen (0.25%). The direct current density is 0.01 mA/cm2, the procedure duration is 15 minutes. The course of treatment is 10 daily procedures. For any form of migraine, endonasal electrophoresis of solutions of vitamin B1 (2%), calcium chloride (2%), and diphenhydramine (0.25%) is indicated. The current strength is 0.01 mA/cm2, the procedure duration is 15 minutes. The course of treatment is 15 daily procedures.

Magnetotherapy is performed for the vasospastic form of migraine using the "Pole-2D" device. The technique is contact and stable. The paravertebral action is performed on one field on the right and left at the level of CIII - ThIII and on one field on the shoulder area. The action time for one field is 10 minutes.

During the inter-attack period of migraine, information-wave impact is also carried out using the Azor-IK device. The impact method is contact, stable on exposed skin.

Impact fields: I - IV - two fields paravertebrally on the right and left at the level of CIII - TIII; V - VI - on the right and left in the temporal region. Radiation modulation frequency: for the vasospastic form of migraine on I - IV fields 10 Hz, for the vasoparalytic form 80 Hz; on V - VI fields for any form of migraine 10 Hz. Exposure time on I - IV fields is 10 minutes, on V - VI - 5 minutes. The course of treatment is 10 procedures daily, once a day in the morning.

It is possible to carry out the procedures sequentially on the same day at home for migraines during the inter-attack period of the disease (the interval between procedures is at least 30 minutes):

  • medicinal electrophoresis + information-wave impact;
  • medicinal electrophoresis + magnetic therapy;
  • short-pulse electroanalgesia (in the morning) + medicinal electrophoresis (in the evening).
