Injuries and poisonings

Closed spinal injuries: causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

In the occurrence of various spinal injuries, four main mechanisms of action of damaging violence should be distinguished: flexion, flexion-rotation, extension and compression. Each of these types of violence leads to a certain form of spinal injury, each of which can be classified as either stable or unstable injuries.

Recurrent polychondritis: causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

Relapsing polychondritis is an episodic inflammatory and destructive disease that primarily affects the cartilage of the ear and nose, but can also affect the eyes, tracheobronchial tree, heart valves, kidneys, joints, skin, and blood vessels.

Muscle-facial pain syndrome.

Musculo-facial pain syndrome may be observed in patients without pathology of the temporomandibular joint. It may be caused by tension, fatigue or spasm of the masticatory muscles (medial and lateral pterygomandibular, temporal and masseter).

Intra-articular temporomandibular joint disorders

Intra-articular disorders - anterior displacement of the articular disc relative to the condylar process. Symptoms: localized pain in the joint and limitations of jaw movement.

Hypoplasia of the condyle

Condylar process hypoplasia is a facial deformity caused by a decrease in the height of the mandibular branch.

Hyperplasia of the condyle

Condylar process hyperplasia is a disease of unknown etiology characterized by persistent and accelerated growth of the condylar process when its growth should be minimal or complete. The growth eventually stops on its own.

Temporomandibular joint disorders

The term "temporomandibular joint disorders" is a collective term for conditions of dysfunction in the jaw joint area or pain of the jaw and face, usually in or around the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), including the masticatory and other head and neck muscles, fascia, or both.

Multiple chemical sensitivity syndrome

Multiple chemical sensitivity syndrome (idiopathic environmental intolerance) is characterized by current, vague symptoms attributed to exposure to low-level, chemically unrelated substances commonly found in the environment.

Lead poisoning (saturnism)

In lead poisoning, often minimal symptoms at first can later lead to acute encephalopathy or irreversible organ damage and usually result in cognitive deficits in children.

Iron poisoning: symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

Iron poisoning is the leading cause of poisoning death in children. Symptoms begin with acute gastroenteritis, progressing to a latent period, then shock and liver failure.
