Herpes during pregnancy: what do you need to know about this disease?

Some people have frequent herpes outbreaks, while others have them very rarely or never at all. The herpes virus manifests its presence in the body much more actively during pregnancy, which can negatively affect the process of bearing a child and even disrupt the normal development of the fetus.

Twin and identical twins.

A multiple pregnancy is one in which two or more fetuses develop simultaneously. If a woman is pregnant with two fetuses, she is called a twin, with three fetuses, she is called a triplet, etc. Children born from a multiple pregnancy are called twins.

Perineal tears during childbirth

Perineal ruptures can be spontaneous, occurring without external influence, and violent, occurring as a result of childbirth operations and improper provision of childbirth assistance.

Cervical cancer in pregnancy

The combination of cervical cancer and pregnancy occurs with a frequency of 1 in 1000-2500 pregnancies. The pregnancy rate in patients with cervical cancer is 30%.

Pregnancy and ovarian tumors

Ovarian tumors occur in 0.1-1.5% of pregnant women. Their structure is different: cysts, actual ovarian tumors, ovarian cancer. The onset of ovarian neoplasm formation is extremely difficult to determine, since clinical manifestations are most often not expressed, if there is no pain when the cyst is shifted or around the cyst stalk.

Pregnancy and uterine fibroids

Uterine myoma (fibromyoma) develops quite often (in 0.5-2.5% of cases) during pregnancy. The tumor consists of muscle and fibrous cells in various combinations and is benign.

Pregnancy with genital anomalies

Pregnancy often occurs due to diseases such as narrowing of the vagina, chronic inflammation of the uterus and its appendages, immaturity and malformations of the uterus, tumor processes in the pelvic organs, etc.

Anemia in pregnancy

Anemia during pregnancy is a pathological condition characterized by a decrease in the number of red blood cells and/or hemoglobin per unit volume of blood. The frequency of this pregnancy complication is observed, according to various sources, in 18-75% (on average 56%) of women.

Cervical lacerations

In primiparous women, minor ruptures of the cervix lead to a change in its shape; in multiparous women, they heal by primary intention, leaving no traces. Large ruptures are accompanied by bleeding of varying intensity.

Obstetric injuries: injuries during childbirth

In case of pathological labor, untimely and incorrect obstetric care, birth injuries often occur: damage to the external and internal genital organs, as well as adjacent organs - the urinary tract, rectum, pelvic joints.
