Diseases of the heart and blood vessels (cardiology)

Acute heart failure

Acute heart failure is a symptomatic complex of rapidly developing systolic and / or diastolic heart function disorders. Main symptoms: decreased cardiac output; insufficient perfusion of tissues; increased pressure in the capillaries of the lungs; stagnation in the tissues.

Heart breaks

Heart ruptures or myocardial ruptures are observed in 2-6% of all myocardial infarction cases with ST segment elevation. This is the second most frequent cause of death in hospital patients. Usually heart ruptures occur during the first week of the disease, but in some cases are observed later (up to the 14th day).

Heart tamponade

Cardiac tamponade is a condition of reduced cardiac output due to mechanical compression of the heart.

Asystole

Asystole - cardiac arrest, accompanied by the disappearance of its electrical activity.

Sudden cardiac death

Sudden cardiac death is a cardiac arrest, an acute hemodynamic syndrome caused by a complete cessation of the pump function of the myocardium, or a state where the remaining electrical and mechanical activity of the heart does not provide effective blood circulation.

Varicose veins: treatment

Today, varicose veins are recognized as one of the most common vascular diseases. Treatment of this unpleasant and insidious disease is carried out by several methods.

Varicose veins

Varicose veins are a disease that is characterized by protruding through the skin veins, as well as thinning of the veins and the formation of subcutaneous nodules. Often the disease can be traced on the legs.

Prevention of thromboembolism in patients with atrial fibrillation: the problem of choosing an oral anticoagulant

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is one of the main causes of stroke in the elderly. Its prevalence is 4.5 million people in the European Union countries and more than 3 million people in the US with a projected increase in the number of Americans with atrial fibrillation to 7.5 million by 2050.

Pathophysiological unity of development of osteoporosis and arteriosclerosis of blood vessels

In the structure of mortality in the developed countries, the leading role belongs to diseases of the circulatory system. Cardiovascular diseases (arterial hypertension, ischemic heart disease, myocardial infarction), based on atherosclerosis, are rightly called the XXI century epidemic.

Arrhythmia

Arrhythmia is not a separate, independent disease, it is a group of symptoms united by one concept - a violation of the normal heart rhythm.
