Diseases of the ear, throat and nose (otolaryngology)

Labyrinthitis (inflammation of the inner ear)

The labyrinth (otitis internal, inflammation of the inner ear) is an inflammatory disease of the inner ear that results from the penetration of pathogenic microorganisms or their toxins into it and manifests itself as a combined disturbance of the functions of the peripheral receptors of the vestibular and auditory analyzers.

Vertebral-basilar insufficiency

Vestibular dysfunction of vascular genesis (vertebral-basilar insufficiency, discirculatory encephalopathy) is a violation of the vestibular function associated with a circulatory disorder in the central or peripheral parts of the vestibular analyzer.

Benign paroxysmal dizziness

Benign paroxysmal positional dizziness is paroxysmal vestibular dizziness, the provoking factor of which is the change in the position of the head and body.

Treatment of Meniere's Disease

The main goal of treatment is cessation of attacks of systemic dizziness and defeat of the hearing organ. Depending on their severity, attacks may require hospitalization; while prescribing rest, sedatives, antiemetics, vestibular suppressants.

Diagnosis of Ménière's disease

Since the changes in Meniere's disease are localized in the inner ear, the evaluation of the condition of the hearing and balance organ is of the greatest importance in the diagnosis of this disease. When otoscopy is determined by unchanged tympanic membranes.

Symptoms of Meniere's Disease

Despite the complete similarity of symptoms, the causes of endolymphatic gypsum in each individual patient may be different. Ménière's disease is rarely seen in childhood, usually a fairly long period of time is required for the development of endolymphatic dropsy.

Causes of Meniere's Disease

The disease does not have a definite etiology. The term "idiopathic" takes the first place in the definition of this disease; the main cause (or causes) of this nosological unit depends on a number of factors that can lead to the development of endolymphatic dropsy.

Meniere's disease: an overview of information

Ménière's disease (endolymphatic hydrops, endolymphatic edema) is a disease of the inner ear caused by an increase in the amount of endolymph (a dropsy labyrinth) and manifested by periodic attacks of systemic dizziness, noise in the ears, progressive hearing loss by the neurosensory type.

Otosclerosis

Otoskleroz (otosposgio) - a disease of the body deafness, caused by a focal pathological process in the bone maze, often leading to the fixation of the base of the stapes in the window of the vestibule, manifested by progressive, usually bilateral, hearing loss and tinnitus.

Treatment of sensorineural (sensorineural) hearing loss

With acute sensorineural hearing loss, the most important goal is the restoration of the auditory function. Achieving this goal is possible only with the beginning of treatment in the shortest possible time.
