Diseases of the ear, throat and nose (otolaryngology)

Acute ethmoidosphenoiditis: causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

Acute etmoidosphenoiditis is an acute non-specific inflammation of the mucosa of the posterior cells of the latticed bone and the sphenoid sinus, arising either primarily on the basis of acute banal or influenza rhinitis, or as a consequence of (very rarely) acute transient inflammation of the anterior sinuses. Mostly adults are ill.

Sharp fronts

Acute frontitis is characterized by acute inflammation of the mucous membrane of the frontal sinus, which passes through the same stages (catarrhal, exudative, purulent) that are characteristic of other sinusitis.

Acute inflammation of the ethmoid labyrinth (acute rhinoethmoiditis): causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

Acute rhinoetmoiditis also has another name - acute anterior ethmoid rhinosinusitis, reflecting the anatomical localization of the inflammatory process of a rhinogenic nature, affecting the anterior cells of the latticed bone.

Acute antritis (maxillary sinusitis)

Acute antritis is an acute inflammation of the predominantly mucous membrane and the submucosal layer of the maxillary sinus, sometimes extending to the periosteum and in rare cases, with a particularly virulent infection, to the bone tissue with transition to a chronic form.

Diseases of the paranasal sinuses: causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

Diseases of the paranasal sinuses of the nose are more than one-third of all pathological conditions of the ENT organs. If we consider that most of these diseases are accompanied by diseases of the nose that either precede the diseases of the paranasal sinuses of the nose and are their cause or are their consequence, then their number significantly increases

Malformations of the nasal septum: causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

Virtually all healthy people have some deviation of the septum of the nose, which, however, does not cause them any anxiety. Pathological are only those curvatures of the septum of the nose that interfere with normal nasal breathing and entail certain diseases of the nose, paranasal sinuses and ears. Deformities of the septum are extremely diverse

Meningocele

Meningocele is a type of pathological condition that refers to anterior cerebral hernia caused by congenital deficiency of bone tissue in the bottom of the anterior cranial fossa during embryonic development under the influence of certain external (infection) and internal (genetic) causes, resulting in a delay in the closure of the protero-vertebral brain plates

Atresia and narrowing of the nasal passages: causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

Atresia and narrowing of the nasal passages can be congenital or acquired. In the latter case, they can be caused by inflammatory-purulent diseases of a nonspecific and specific nature, culminating in a scarring process with the formation of synechia or total scar membranes completely excluding one or both halves of the nose from the respiratory process.

Dysplasia (deformity) of the external nose: causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

The nose pyramid is the most prominent part of the face, playing along with other main recognizable external organs of the head (eyes, mouth, ears) the most important cosmetic role in the well-being of the individual physiognomic image of man.

Noma: causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

Nomoma (cancrum oris) is a disease in which necrotic tissue causes extensive defects in the soft and bony tissues of the orofacial region, a kind of moist gangrene that currently occurs only in underdeveloped and developing countries.
