Post-thrombophlebitic syndrome is a serious disease, even effective medications prescribed by doctors in this case do not allow getting rid of it. It is not surprising that the alternative treatment of this pathology has not become very popular and has little coverage in the literature.

Nevertheless, if you understand, it becomes clear that this syndrome includes the symptoms of venous insufficiency, varicose veins of the lower extremities and trophic ulcers, whose treatment in the people is actively practiced as an important addition to the basic treatment. It turns out that such recipes for the treatment of the above pathologies will be useful for patients with PTFs. Let's consider, what alternative ways of struggle with a postthrombophlebitic syndrome are offered to us by alternative medicine.

Treatment of varicose veins by immature tomatoes. When vascular asterisks appear on their feet, which are a sign of both primary and secondary varicosity, compresses from green tomatoes will be useful. Immature tomatoes contain the antioxidant lycopene, improving the condition of the vessels, increasing their elasticity and preventing atherosclerotic changes. Thanks to it, the walls of the vessels become more durable and elastic, resistant to stresses. In addition, such treatment is the prevention of thrombosis.

The treatment consists in applying thin slices of tomato to the sick bladder at night. They need to be bandaged to the leg and left until the morning. Over time, varicose cones decrease and disappear.

Sucking. Vitamins C, P, B6, E, trace elements and many other valuable substances useful for the health of blood vessels and skin are found in many vegetables and fruits. It is not for nothing that such products are recommended to actively include in the diet of patients with PTFs. When processing vegetables, the bulk of nutrients passes into juice, so juices are considered the most useful for patients, especially since they are much easier to digest.

Patients with varicose veins are advised to drink both juices of individual vegetables and mixtures of juices that complement the healing properties of each other. For example:

  • A mixture of carrot juices (100 g) and spinach (60 g). Bioflavonoids of carrot juice (among them there is a routine, the properties of which we have already mentioned) strengthen the vessels, increase their tone and elasticity, and spinach contributes to the purification of vessels and improves their contractile function.
  • In the previous recipe, half the norm of spinach juice can be replaced with beet juice. This composition will replenish the stores of vitamins and trace elements, improve the blood composition, remove swelling and stabilize the pressure.
  • A mixture of spinach juice (40 g), turnips (can be used as root, and leaves and leaves) and watercress (20 grams each) will help stabilize the water-electrolyte balance, improve metabolism in the body tissues, dilute blood, prevent gluing thrombocytes and formation of thrombi, as well as dissolve already formed clots of blood.

Drink juices in a dosage of at least 500 g per day. In this case, we are talking about freshly squeezed juices, since after some half an hour the amount of vitamins in them sharply decreases.

For venous insufficiency, cucumber juice is also considered useful, which is recommended for ¼ cup 2-3 times a day.

Sea salt from leg swelling. To reduce pain and swelling of soft tissues, alternative medicine recommends doing saline lotions. In st.l. Sea salt is bred in 1 liter of water, soaked in a soft cloth and wrapped around her aching leg. The procedure is carried out 3-4 times a day as the material dries.

Fruits and berries against blood clots. The use of foods with a high content of vitamin C positively affects the state of the blood vessels and reduces blood coagulability, which is the prevention of thrombosis. The most valuable products in this regard include raspberry, currant, dog rose, lemon, apples. Among the vegetables, the leaders are sweet pepper and parsley. These tasty and useful gifts of nature with varicose veins and PTFE are also effective medicines.

Rich in ascorbic acid, fruits and vegetables should be eaten fresh, because the vitamin is destroyed by heat. You can also lubricate your feet with a slice of lemon as a local treatment.

Alum and soda for varicose veins and trophic ulcers. Useful for these pathologies are baths, in which add 200 g of soda and 70 g of burnt alum. The water should be slightly warm (no more than 38 degrees).

On the basis of soda, you can make foot baths, removing the heaviness and pain in the legs. In this case, for 5 liters of water, the temperature of which is not more than 40 degrees, take 6 tablespoons. Soda. The procedure is carried out for an hour.

Treatment of trophic ulcers. Such hard-healing leg wounds in patients with PTF can be treated:

  • with the help of compresses from cabbage leaf with buttered sea buckthorn oil,
  • a mixture of equal parts of honey and fresh chicken protein (applied to a wound, covered with burdock or cabbage leaves, wrapped in film and bandaged overnight, the course needs about 7-8 procedures)
  • yolk ointment, which is prepared from equal parts of fresh chicken yolk and 5% iodine solution (the agent can only be applied to the wound, changing the dressing every day until the wound is healed),
  • (for half an hour they lower the leg into a light pink solution of potassium permanganate, and then for another half an hour they keep the diseased limb in a composition made from 1 l of water and 100 ml of calendula tincture (in the end, you can still make a bath with a tincture of eucalyptus, after which the wound is bandaged)) .

To improve venous outflow, patients at home are advised to do a simple exercise: climb to the socks, so that the distance from the heel to the floor is about 1 cm, and land sharply back. Such heels of the heel on the ground stimulate the movement of blood up the veins. Perform exercises need daily from 3 to 5 times a day with a complex of 30-40 repetitions, consisting of lifting to the socks and landing.

The flow of blood from the feet to the heart is facilitated by the well-known exercise "Birch". You need to lie on your back, then raise your legs and trunk up, leaning on the shoulder blades and stay in that position for several minutes.

As prevention of blood clots in the treatment of PTFs, varicose veins, thrombophlebitis, the popularity of such a branch of non-traditional medicine as hirudotherapy has also gained popularity. Treatment with leeches helps to purify and dilute the blood, not for nothing that is allocated by these unusual worms hirudin has been actively used for the manufacture of medicines.

Herbal Treatment

Even more popular in the therapy of venous diseases, the symptoms of which are characteristic of postthrombophlebitic syndrome, have received herbal treatment. We have already mentioned the vegetative preparation "Venoton", which contains several medicinal herbs, which help to strengthen the vessels. Special attention deserves such a plant as a horse chestnut, flowers and seeds of which are used to make effective for varicosity and venous insufficiency infusions.

To prepare the tincture, take 500 g of alcohol and 50 g of flowers or 100 g of crushed fruits of the plant. Insist the composition in a cool place, periodically shaking it, then filter and take inside 3 times a day for 2 tsp. This should be done before meals for a week, after which a two-week break and a repetition of the course are recommended. The same tincture with success is used as an external agent for grinders.

Alcoholic tincture of the sweet clover is prepared on the same principle. Take it you need 50 ml, spreading in half a glass of cool water.

The hazelnut or hazel is used for PTFE in the form of infusion, for the preparation of which mono leaves and bark of the plant are used. 2 tablespoons pre-chopped raw material is poured into a glass of boiling water and kept warm for 3 hours. Take the medicine after meals 3-4 times a day for 50 ml.

To clean the vessels, it is possible to prepare a medicine on the basis of another component of the preparation "Venoton" - Japanese Sophora. Based on its flowers or fruits, alcoholic tincture (50 g of ground vegetable material per 50 ml of quality alcohol) is prepared, which is infused over a month. The filtered composition is taken daily for 1 tsp. Within a month. Then they take a break for 7 days and repeat the course.

To rub the sick legs with swollen vessels, you can prepare an alcoholic tincture of Kalanchoe leaves. Fresh leaves in the amount of 50 grams are washed, crushed and filled with alcohol. After 10 days, the tincture can be used for the intended purpose.

Treatment of venous insufficiency against the background of postthrombophlebitic syndrome can also be carried out with plant collections. One such effective collection is a mixture of herbs yarrow and melissa, bark of buckthorn and bilberry flowers. For a glass of boiling water we take 60 g of a mixture of herbs (all plants need to be mixed in equal proportions), we insist for an hour and take 2 times a day for ½ cup.

Treatment with herbs is a way to fight the disease, given to us by nature. But it should be borne in mind that many plants are powerful allergens, so if skin itching, redness and rashes on the body from such treatment should be abandoned or used other plants that do not cause side effects.

Tinctures of herbs on alcohol are not intended for the treatment of children and adolescents, as well as people with ulcerative inflammatory diseases of the stomach, liver and kidney diseases. Applying any alternative recipes, it is worthwhile to consult a doctor beforehand, because they also may have contraindications associated with concomitant diseases or hereditary disorders in the body.

Homeopathy

Caution should also be observed for those who seek help from homeopathic remedies. These medications are not ordinary. And although they are considered safer for the body than most classical medications, when they are prescribed, homeopathic physicians take into account many factors and features of the patient's body, so there are no standard prescriptions and treatment schemes here. It is thanks to this that homeopathic treatment gives more lasting results, helping to fight not only the symptoms, but also the cause of the disease. However, effective treatment will be only in case of professional prescription of medicines.

Post-thrombophlebitic syndrome is considered a disease that does not lend itself to complete cure. But homeopathy does not cure the disease in the full sense of the word. Its goal is to activate the healing powers of the patient's body, resulting in self-healing. At the same time, the results of such treatment, if the patient believes in his recovery, sometimes surprise even experienced doctors.

What drugs can help to achieve the same good results with PTFs, which are characterized by the symptoms of varicose veins and venous insufficiency:

Pulsatilla. This homeopathic remedy is the drug of choice for venous pathologies. It helps to combat the symptoms of secondary varicose veins: the appearance of a vascular reticulum, swelling of large veins, pain and tingling in the legs, the appearance of a bluish shade of the diseased limb. This drug is more suited to tearful people with a labile mood, who are complaining of a deterioration in the stuffiness.

Witch-hazel. A drug prescribed in the same cases as the previous one, if the constitutional and psychological features of the patient are not characteristic of Pulsatilla. The main symptom in prescribing the drug is the drawing pain, characteristic of venous stasis.

Carbo vegetabilis. Homeopathic medicine, which is prescribed when Pulsatilla and Hamamelis are ineffective. It is characterized by the appearance of large bluish or purple seals (knots) on the veins, redness of the skin of the legs.

Calcium fluoride. A medicine that is effective in expanding the veins, if the patient feels relief only at rest, and from the heat it becomes worse. It is especially useful for those with a weakened valvular apparatus of venous vessels.

Arnica. This remedy can be prescribed to patients with reddened, hot lower extremities experiencing pain during palpation of affected areas.

Graphite. This drug is prescribed for those who suffer from severe swelling of the legs due to lymphovenous insufficiency and are prone to developing erysipelas. The drug comes to the rescue and patients with lymphedema, which increases the leg several times.

Cadmium sulfuricum. A fairly toxic drug that, along with mercury and zinc preparations, can be prescribed to patients with trophic ulcers. With the same problems, the drug Kardusmarianus is fighting.

Viper. A homeopathic remedy that helps with a feeling of flaring in the legs, which only takes place if the limb can be raised.

With varicose veins and PTFs, the preparations of the German homeopathic company Heel: Esquelus-Heel, Hamamelis-Gommakord, Hamamelis-Sablé-Heel, may also prove useful. All these medicines are indicated for venous stasis, varicose enlargement and venous inflammation, thrombosis, the appearance of inflammation on the skin, eczema and ulcers caused by trophic disorders.

In pharmacies, you can find a complex preparation of the Ukrainian manufacturer "Vienna-Gran", the very name of which speaks of his specialization. The instructions say that this homeopathic remedy is prescribed for varicose veins and post-thrombophlebitic syndrome, as well as complications caused by these diseases. Homeopaths actively prescribe it to women whose illness was provoked by pregnancy or childbirth.

It is believed that the drug, which includes Witch Hazel, Escula, Pulsatilla and Acidum Fluoricum, increases the elasticity and tone of the venous and lymphatic vessels, normalizes blood and lymph flow, stimulates metabolism in tissues and prevents trophic disorders. Due to its use, the rheological properties of the blood are improved (coagulability decreases and fluidity increases, which is the prevention of blood clots).

The drug has a positive effect on the work of the endocrine glands, contributes to the normalization of the hormonal balance, because failures of this nature are risk factors for the development of many pathologies, including venous ones.

Witch hazel in the preparation helps to remove the unpleasant sensations of varicose veins: pain, burning, heaviness in the legs and feeling of overflow of veins. Pulsatilla fights with soreness and swelling, reduces the severity of trophic disorders, helps to heal trophic ulcers. To combat the effects of impaired tissue nutrition and accelerate healing of wounds and ulcers on the body, Acidum Fluoricum is included in the formulation. A Esculus helps to remove swelling, restore the sensitivity of the limbs, treat trophic ulcers, strengthen the walls of blood vessels.

According to the standard scheme of the drug, it should be taken 3 to 6 times a day for 4-6 months with the option of repeating the course after a month. The preparation is produced in the form of homeopathic granules, which are taken once a day for a quarter of an hour before meals or an hour after it. The granules are kept under the tongue until dissolved or dissolved in water.

The dosage of the preparation, as well as of other described above means, is individual, which once again speaks in favor of the need to seek counseling and prescribing treatment to a qualified homeopath. And since we do not have so many good doctors of alternative medicine, we must approach this issue very responsibly.

It should be understood that homeopathic treatment does not provide immediate recovery, because the dosages of such drugs are very small, but in therapy according to the "wedge-knocked out" therapy, they can not be exceeded. The result of traditional treatment of PTFS can be seen not earlier than in 2 months, when acute symptoms decrease, and the treatment courses will have to be repeated on a regular basis. Treatment with homeopathy can last six months or a year, but its effect persists for a long time.
