Initially, tuberculous bowel disease can occur asymptomatically or with mildly specific general symptoms: a violation of appetite, nausea and heaviness in the stomach after eating, weakness, malaise, subfebrile fever, increased sweating, swelling of the intestine, unstable stool, uncharacteristic abdominal pain. Later the pain becomes more constant, it is localized more often in the right ileal region and near the navel. On a secondary tuberculosis lesion of the intestine with more pronounced pulmonary manifestations are often not paid attention. In advanced cases, palpation is determined by dense painful thickening of the cecum and the terminal part of the ileum, sometimes a right-sided formation is palpated in the right ileal region. With a lesion of the rectum, tenesmus and false urges are possible; In the area of the anus or mucous membrane of the intestine, tuberculous ulcers that do not tend to heal.
With tuberculous mezadenitis, the pain is localized to the left and down from the navel and along the mesentery of the small intestine. To suspect a tuberculous bowel disease in a patient with an open form of pulmonary tuberculosis, a larynx, a pharynx, can occur with the appearance of abdominal pain, dyspeptic disorders, unstable stools or with characteristic palpation data.
