Fungal skin diseases (synonyms: mycoses, dermatomycoses).
Skin diseases caused by pathogenic fungi are called dermatomycosis.
Fungi affect the skin, hair, nail plates and internal organs. There are several classifications of fungal diseases of the skin. Some are based on the generic and species belonging to fungi, others - on the location of the pathological process.
Allocate:
- keratomycosis (multicolored lichen, knotty trichosporia);
- dermatomycosis (epidermophytia, rubromycosis, trichophytosis, microsporia, favus);
- Candidiasis (candidiasis of skin, mucous membranes and nails, chronic generalized (granulomatous) candidiasis in children, visceral candidiasis);
- systemic (deep) mycoses (histoplasmosis, chromomycosis, actinomycosis, etc.).
