First aid for colds at home

Most often, colds are experienced in the autumn-spring period. This is due to the instability of the weather, temperature changes, overcooling of the body and a decrease in the protective properties of the immune system. Based on this, it is very important to start treatment for a cold in a timely manner, preventing its further development.
First aid at home includes washing the nasopharynx and gargling, steam inhalation, compresses, baths, hot teas and infusions, herbal tea.
For the treatment of cough and increase immunity
- Large lemon peel and cut into slices. Grind 300 g of ginger and mix with lemon. Add to the vegetable mixture 200 g of honey, pour into a jar and leave to infuse for 2-3 hours. Take 1 teaspoon per day in pure form or as an additive to tea. [1]
- Grind 4-5 cloves of garlic to a mushy state and mix with the same amount of honey. Put the vegetable mixture in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours. Take 1 tablespoon at bedtime during the week. [2]
- Fold the fresh raspberries in a 500 ml glass jar and fill with vodka. Put the mixture for 1-2 months in the refrigerator. Take 2 teaspoons of tea at the first symptoms of the disease.[3]
To eliminate elevated temperature
- Take 30 g of poplar buds and pour 500 ml of boiling water, let it brew for 30 minutes. Add to stew a couple of lemon slices and a teaspoon of honey. Take as a tea for ½ cup 3-4 times a day.
- A tablespoon of dried flowers or clover grass brew 200 ml of boiling water. The tool should be infused for 30 minutes, then add 1-2 teaspoons of honey to it. Take ready drink 1-2 times a day.
- A couple of tablespoons of grass coltsfoot brew 500 ml of boiling water and let it brew for 30 minutes. Take 3-4 tablespoons 3-4 times a day.
Cough and sore throat
- A tablespoon of fresh mint leaves pour 300 ml boiling water and boil over medium heat for 2-3 minutes. Strain, add a teaspoon of honey and fresh lemon to the decoction. Use before bedtime as a tea.
- Crush the head of garlic and squeeze the juice out of it to make a teaspoon. Pour the juice into a glass of warm milk and mix. Take a tablespoon 3-5 times a day.
Also at home you can conduct water treatments. Baths with essential oils or vegetable decoctions will be useful. For gargling you can use a solution of salt, soda and iodine. Badger oil, turpentine and camphor oil are suitable for grinding. For inhalation, use essential oils, soda solution, boiled potatoes or fresh onion juice. If within 2-3 days of home therapy there is no improvement, then you should seek medical help.
Alternative remedies at the first sign of a cold
One of the most common ways to deal with the first symptoms of a cold is alternative methods. Consider the popular and effective healing recipes:
- 500 g of fruits of red / black currant or cranberry chop and squeeze the juice. You can add a couple of spoons of natural honey to the liquid and take it at the first sign of illness.
- Take five tablespoons of rosehips and cover with a liter of cold water. Boil over medium heat for 10-15 minutes and let stand for 8-10 hours. Strain and take 250 ml every 2-3 hours throughout the day. To improve the taste in the infusion, you can add honey or sugar. It is recommended to use broth within 5-7 days, rinsing a mouth with warm water after each reception.
- Take in equal proportions honey, hips, raspberries and currants. Pour the vegetable mixture with 100 ml of boiling water and let it brew for 10-15 minutes. Strain and take 2-3 times a day for ½ cup before meals.
- A tablespoon of dry grass and rhizomes of sabelnik bog poured 200 ml of boiling water and let it brew for 60 minutes. Strain and take 50 ml 3-4 times a day in the form of heat.
- Take flowers mother-and-stepmother and the fruits of viburnum in a ratio of 1: 2, pour 500 ml of boiling water. Boil for 5-10 minutes, strain. Take the drink hot, before bedtime 1-2 cups.
- Mix peppermint leaves, black elderberry flowers and linden flowers in equal proportions. A tablespoon of the mixture pour 500 ml of boiling water and boil over medium heat for 5-10 minutes. After cooling, strain and take 2-3 cups during the day.
- 20 g of dry, crushed eucalyptus leaves pour 50 ml of alcohol and cover in a tight dish for 7-8 days. Strain and squeeze the plant residue. Take the finished tincture of 20-25 drops, diluting in ¼ cup of warm boiled water.
- A tablespoon of dry crushed black currant leaves pour 300 ml of boiling water and let it brew for 3-4 hours, strain. Take ½ cup in the form of heat, 4-5 times a day.
