What if you have muscle pain with a cold?
A hot foot bath with the addition of one or two tablespoons of mustard powder will help relieve discomfort and muscle aches with colds. If the muscles ache with colds, alternative means will help alleviate the condition: ointment from juniper and laurel leaves, infusion of flowers of sweet clover, tea from thyme, consumption of onion and garlic. Vitaminotherapy, especially the intake of vitamin C, activates the defenses of the body, which contributes to a speedy recovery. The natural source of vitamin C are the fruits of dog rose and black currant.
Associated symptoms of muscle pain in colds are nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, fever. The degree of expression of these symptoms can range from insignificant to quite strong. As part of complex therapy to eliminate muscle pain in the presence of concomitant symptoms, antiseptic drugs are used - resorption tablets, sprays for irrigation of the pharyngeal mucosa, nasal sprays and ointments.
Since the source of colds are viruses, it is advisable to take antiviral drugs (amyzon, anaferon, arbidol). Immuno-fortifying agents will help to overcome the disease faster and normalize the condition. Tincture or Echinacea syrup well helps to strengthen the body's defenses.
A massage with natural honey is a good way to reduce pain. Honey removes toxins from the body, honey massage improves blood circulation, after this procedure a powerful warming effect comes in and muscle pain recedes with cold. To carry out such a massage is simple enough: evenly apply a layer of honey on the surface of the palms, then for a few seconds, strongly press them to the back of the patient, continue the procedure for five to seven minutes. After the massage, the back should be washed with warm water and covered with a warm blanket.
In combination with the massage, aromatic oils have a good effect for relieving muscle pain in colds. The most commonly used oil is eucalyptus, sage, fir, tea, wood, lavender. Oils can be rubbed with whiskey, wrists or neck area, and can also be used for inhalations. They have not only antibacterial, but also a relaxing property, which positively affects the general condition.
Good help is also rubbing with anti-cold balms - Dr. Mom, Linkas, Zvezdochka. Thanks to the active substances contained in their composition, balsams have a distracting, local anesthetic effect, as well as anti-inflammatory and antiseptic effect. Ointment is applied to the painful areas and superimposed on the top with a warm bandage. With pronounced symptoms balm can be used for inhalations.
Another effective tool to eliminate muscle pain with a cold is to visit the bath. In a bath under the influence of high air temperature, the blood supply of tissues improves, protective functions of the body are activated. Remember that visiting a bath is strictly contraindicated at an elevated body temperature. On the head wear a felt hat, do not wet your hair, after a bath drink a hot tea or herbal infusion.
