Warts on the hands are mainly the result of the human papilloma virus, transmitted through direct contact with an infected person or through common objects. The incubation period of the disease can be several months. Warts on the hands are most common among children and adolescents. Psychological stress, increased sweating, and damage to the skin can also contribute to the development of the disease.

Warts on the hands can be simple or flat.

  • Common warts on the hands. In addition to the fingers and hands, they can affect the head area. Such formations look like dense rounded nodules (from three to ten millimeters) with a rough surface. Usually, these neoplasms do not cause pain, and can be pink or light brown in color.
  • Flat warts on the hands. Usually do not exceed three millimeters in diameter. In addition to the hands, they can also appear on the face. Such formations are usually small in size, have a round shape and a smooth surface, the color can vary from flesh to yellow.

To diagnose the disease, you should first consult a dermatologist. Based on the general clinical picture and examination of the affected areas, the doctor can make an accurate diagnosis and prescribe competent treatment. PCR diagnostics can be prescribed to determine the type of virus that caused the disease.

Physiotherapeutic treatment methods

  • Electrocoagulation - the procedure for removing neoplasms is carried out using electrodes, which, when heated under the influence of current, destroy neoplasms. At first, a dry crust remains on the affected area, which prevents infection and bleeding and eventually comes off. The electrocoagulation method makes it possible to get rid of warts in one session.
  • Laser destruction – this method gives a 100% result of wart removal after the first procedure, characterized by rapid healing, no bleeding, minimal risk of scarring and pigment spots. After the procedure, it is forbidden to visit a solarium, sauna, bathhouse, or sunbathe for two weeks. Contraindications: diabetes, immunodeficiency, pregnancy, cancer, herpes.
  • Cryotherapy is a procedure of freezing with liquid nitrogen, carried out with a special applicator. During the procedure, the wart becomes pale and dense. Painful sensations are usually short-lived. It is also possible to carry out a procedure of skin shading with cryomassage.

Surgical treatment

One of the methods of surgical removal of warts on the hands is scraping. It is carried out using a sharp Volkman spoon. After the procedure, the affected area is treated with a solution of silver nitrate. Acetic, salicylic and lactic acid are used to cauterize warts on the hands. In some cases, the operation is carried out using a scalpel under local anesthesia. After removing warts surgically, it is forbidden to visit a sauna, bathhouse, sunbathe in the sun and in a solarium for two weeks. Surgery is prescribed when other treatment methods are ineffective.

As folk remedies for treating the affected areas, they use onion juice, apples, garlic, celandine grass, calendula flowers, wormwood, rowan, etc. A fairly effective way to remove warts is beeswax. The wax must be melted in a teaspoon and applied to the damaged area for thirty minutes. To carry out this procedure, you need to use only natural products.

Warts on your hands not only cause psychological discomfort, but can also pose a threat to your health. Therefore, at the first signs of new growths on the skin, immediately seek help from a dermatologist.
