Often, when no medications help with severe back pain, many people think about turning to the world's leading specialists. Spine treatment in Israel is carried out using the most modern methods that restore the spine and allow the patient to live a full life without pain and movement disorders.
Where does the treatment begin? First of all, the patient is examined. All necessary examinations can last up to several days if the disease is severe. The patient is required to undergo magnetic resonance imaging on the latest generation device.
In Israel, it is possible to successfully treat congenital pathologies, traumatic or inflammatory changes in the spinal column. The doctor selects the method and treatment plan directly for each patient individually.
Treatment of the spine in Israel is carried out for the following pathologies:
- radiculitis;
- spondylosis;
- intervertebral hernias;
- inflammatory process in the sciatic nerve;
- osteochondrosis;
- spinal deformities;
- spinal column injuries;
- Schmorl's nodes;
- degenerative changes in the spine.
Treatment of spinal hernia in Israel
Patients diagnosed with a herniated disc are initially prescribed conventional medication in combination with physical therapy. If such therapy is ineffective and there is no positive dynamics of the pathology, most often they resort to surgery - discectomy.
The purpose of this operation is to eliminate the excess pressure that the hernia exerts on the nerve endings, which causes significant pain.
The operation is primarily offered in the following situations:
- when the patient feels constant weakness in the legs, which prevents him from moving or even standing;
- when drug therapy over a period of 1.5 months has not been successful;
- when the hernia causes significant pressure on the nerve;
- when the pain becomes so severe that the patient can no longer bear it, and standard analgesics no longer help.
Surgical intervention for hernia is performed using general anesthesia. Usually, the patient is offered inhalation or intravenous anesthesia.
In order to get to the damaged disc, the doctor will have to remove some of the ligaments and tissue of the vertebra.
Of course, the doctor will try to save the disc by removing only a small element of it. If this is impossible, the disc is removed and a special bone implant is inserted in its place, which can be made from natural human bone or from artificial materials.
After the operation, the patient can stay in the clinic for a maximum of 1-2 days, and return to work in a month. Of course, at first, the person will have to avoid physical activity, especially on the spine. Upon discharge, the doctor will familiarize the patient with a set of procedures that will help to recover more quickly after the operation and get back "in action."
Discectomy is a common operation in Israel, which is performed when a disc is prolapsed. If the disc is unstable, the spine can be immobilized with screws or fixed to each other by fixing the vertebrae.
Methods of spine treatment in Israel
In Israel, many surgical procedures are performed to treat the spine:
- vertebroplasty of the spinal column – the introduction of a special bone cementing substance through the skin into the affected vertebra;
- fusion of vertebrae - is performed to eliminate movement between two specific vertebrae, which will prevent further formation of bone growths and nerve damage, and also reduce pain;
- laser disc plastic surgery – disc reconstruction using laser radiation, which promotes the growth of cartilage cells and regeneration of the intervertebral disc;
- disc removal using an endoscope and microendoscope is an operation that does not require standard tissue dissection, and the procedure is performed using special instruments that are inserted between the vertebrae and into the intervertebral disc through small incisions;
- minimally invasive methods of treating compression fractures of the spine (kyphoplasty) – performed through a small puncture in the skin under local anesthesia, the operation lasts 40-60 minutes;
- radiofrequency interruption of nerve conduction – cutting off the median branch of the nerve using an electrical discharge, which relieves the patient from pain;
- microsurgical interventions in the lumbar region – microdiscectomy, which is performed through a small incision (up to 3 cm), using a special microscope and microsurgical instruments;
- transforaminal fusion - removal of a degenerated intervertebral disc in cases of spinal instability or degeneration of discs or joints;
- lumbar implant installation;
- electrothermal therapy method;
- introduction of drugs directly into the cerebrospinal fluid system;
- cold plasma nucleoplasty;
- Corpectomy – eliminates pain caused by damage to the vertebrae and pressure on the nerve endings, and also eliminates spinal deformity.
Highly qualified Israeli specialists will determine the best treatment option with minimal risk of complications for patients and the most comfortable rehabilitation period.
Clinics in Israel for spine treatment
We present to you a number of leading Israeli clinics that provide qualified treatment of the spinal column.

Cost of spine treatment in Israel
Of course, the cost of spine treatment in Israel may depend on many factors, so the cost should be discussed separately in each specific case. It is quite difficult to accurately name the price for some types of pathologies: this is determined only after all diagnostic procedures have been carried out and after consultation with the doctor who will carry out the treatment.
We will give only an approximate cost of the main procedures for treating the spine:
- preliminary examination – from $300;
- specialist consultation – from $600;
- magnetic resonance imaging procedure – from $1,550;
- computed tomography procedure – from $850;
- surgical intervention to eliminate a spinal hernia – from $30,000;
- surgical intervention to eliminate a herniated disc in the cervical spine – from $33,000;
- hernia correction – from $15,000;
- correction of hernia in the cervical spine - from $23,000;

Reviews of spine treatment in Israel
As for reviews about spinal treatment in Israel, they are overwhelmingly positive.
Olya, Orenburg: For six months now, people in a foreign country have been taking care of my back health, but they have become like family to me. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone for their literacy and good attitude towards all patients without exception.
Sveta, Voronezh: Thank you to everyone who helped me get my husband Sergey back on his feet. And to those who organized the trip to Israel, to those who met and accommodated us, conducted examinations, treated us, looked after us, thank you to everyone. Now my husband and I are happy because we are healthy, and because we have become convinced that there are decent and professional doctors in the world who truly care about the health of their patients.
Anya: Only in Israel did they agree to operate on my daughter with congenital problems in her spine. We went to another country at our own risk, but there they accepted us as their own, they said that everything would be fine. And so it turned out. My daughter now plays and frolics, like all children her age. Thank you again.
Alexander: Of course, we were afraid to fly so far, but it was a hopeless situation. Now I think, why didn't I do it earlier and torture myself for so long? Here, real specialists took care of me. And here, a month later, I'm home, and I feel great, probably like in my youth.
Treatment of the spine in Israel is, as a rule, a guarantee of recovery in most cases. Many call such treatment the highest quality at quite acceptable world prices. Although our health, as we know, is priceless.
