Treatment of purulent tonsillitis should not be carried out independently. It is especially important to start treatment in time when the following symptoms occur simultaneously or partially: headache, aching joints, general increased weakness, difficulty swallowing food (and then liquid), elevated temperature of about thirty-nine degrees.
Purulent tonsillitis is a series of upper respiratory tract diseases that are infectious in nature. This disease affects the palate and tonsils, where the inflammatory process begins, caused by various microorganisms, most often streptococci. With tonsillitis, the lymphoid tissue of the larynx turns red and swells, and therefore narrows. And purulent plaque appears on the tonsils.
Purulent tonsillitis is characterized by a sharp increase in temperature (sometimes up to 39 degrees), a sore throat, and a deterioration in the general health and well-being of the patient, similar to a fever. In this case, the cervical lymph nodes enlarge and become painful, and the neck swells. A rash may appear on the skin, and abdominal pain may also occur. Tonsillitis is most often accompanied by the appearance of a cough and runny nose, although in some cases it does without these unpleasant symptoms. If tonsillitis is not treated in time, the spread of infection throughout the body can cause dysfunction in the heart, as well as provoke problems in the joints.
Purulent tonsillitis is easy to catch, so you should not have close contact with a person who currently has such an infection. The bacilli that cause the disease are transmitted by airborne droplets, as well as through the use of the patient's utensils and personal hygiene products. It is also worth noting that the bacterial infection that can cause purulent tonsillitis is transmitted through unwashed hands, fruits and vegetables.
Manifestations of angina are noticed a week after infection with bacteria. But sometimes this period is reduced due to weakened immunity in sick children and adults. Pathogenic microorganisms spread throughout the human body at an accelerated rate. Therefore, it is very important to start treatment in a timely manner, as well as to follow all the instructions of the attending physician. If you neglect the correct therapy, you can get serious consequences for the body, such as kidney disease, cardiovascular dysfunction, rheumatoid manifestations and, in some cases, symptoms of blood poisoning.
Of course, it should be noted that not all people are equally susceptible to the effects of pathogens. There are groups of people who risk "earning" the disease more often than others. These include smokers; people who have suffered tonsil injuries, adults and children with weakened immunity; people living in dusty and rarely cleaned rooms; as well as those who constantly or temporarily endure prolonged hypothermia. Also, adults and children who have circulatory disorders in the capillaries, which causes poor enrichment of tissues with useful substances, most often suffer from tonsillitis.
According to statistics, the most severe outbreaks of this disease occur in early, cold spring and rainy, damp autumn. Every year, approximately fifteen percent of the world's population suffers from this disease.

Treatment of purulent tonsillitis in adults
There are some differences in the use of methods for treating infectious diseases in adults, children and pregnant women. Adult patients can be prescribed more effective treatment that cannot be used for children and expectant mothers.
Treatment of purulent tonsillitis in adults is complex and requires the use of all groups of drugs that can cure this infectious disease.
In the treatment of purulent tonsillitis, solutions for gargling, sprays with antiseptic action, and antibacterial drugs are used. Antibiotics can also be used locally in the form of sprays, as well as orally in the form of tablets or in the form of intramuscular injections. An effective method is considered to be the use of corticosteroids, as well as antipyretic and pain-relieving drugs.
In addition to the above-mentioned medications, there are also folk medicine methods that you can turn to if you wish. Folk methods include gargling with aqueous solutions of various tinctures, decoctions and infusions of medicinal herbs. Lubrication of the affected areas of the larynx with certain drugs is also effective. No less effective is chewing honeycombs, propolis, and eating bee products.
The patient's diet is of great importance in folk medicine. It is recommended to constantly use the patient's menu vitamin infusions and teas, as well as herbal decoctions that have antipyretic, anti-inflammatory and bactericidal properties.
All the treatment methods recommended in this section can be found below in the relevant sections.
Treatment of purulent tonsillitis in children
Treatment of infectious diseases in children requires a more balanced approach and the use of more gentle medications than in adults.
Treatment of purulent tonsillitis in children should be carried out only under the supervision of the attending physician. Usually, specialists recommend the use of antibacterial, general tonic and antihistamine therapy. Antibiotics in this case should have a broad spectrum of action to avoid complications caused by the spread of infection throughout the child's body. Antihistamines also help prevent serious consequences for the entire body. General tonic drugs help strengthen the patient's immune defense and improve the body's resistance to infections.
Of the antibiotics, the following names are usually recommended for use by children:
- flemoxin-solutaba,
- sumameda,
- supraxa,
- amoxiclav,
- amosina,
- augmentin.
The most effective drugs in this group are considered to be Flemoxin-Solutab and Sumamed.
When the first symptoms of the disease are detected, children are recommended to rinse their throats with warm aqueous solutions of salt, salt and soda, furatsilin or potassium permanganate. This should be done at least once an hour. You can use rinses more often.
Among the effective means, experts recommend inhaling steam over a vessel with hot water, with soda dissolved in it and with the addition of bay leaf. This procedure should be done three or four times a day.
In addition, children, just like adults, are recommended to drink plenty of fluids. It is desirable that it be clean warm water and vitamin infusions, herbal teas and berry fruit drinks.
It happens that a child with purulent tonsillitis experiences severe pain in the throat. Because of which he refuses to drink and eat, as well as take medications. In this case, it is necessary to consult a doctor about prescribing painkillers that can relieve pain symptoms in an inflamed throat. In some cases, specialists recommend administering antibiotics intramuscularly, although in this case such a measure will be an additional stress factor for the sick child.
So, if parents notice a sharp deterioration in their child's health, which is characterized by weakness and lethargy, high temperature and severe sore throat, they need to urgently show the child to the doctor and begin to follow his instructions. The usual treatment regimen for the disease in children is practically no different from the methods of treating purulent tonsillitis in adults.
It happens that parents may be mistaken about the fact that purulent tonsillitis can be treated without antibiotics. And herbal remedies, gargles and inhalations can cure such a serious disease. This is a big mistake that can lead to deterioration of the child's health in the form of complications from tonsillitis, undermining his health for the rest of his life. Experts recommend a combination of folk and traditional methods of treating purulent tonsillitis, which will give a stable result and help to avoid consequences.
Treatment of purulent tonsillitis during pregnancy
Treatment of purulent tonsillitis during pregnancy begins with a consultation with a specialist. And only a doctor can decide whether or not to prescribe antibacterial drugs to a pregnant woman.
The use of antibiotics during pregnancy is highly undesirable. Therefore, if there is an urgent need to use them during this period, preference is given to drugs with local action. Aerosols belong to this category of drugs for the treatment of purulent tonsillitis. The tablet form of antibacterial drugs, as well as injections for intramuscular and intravenous injections, are considered undesirable during this period of a woman's life. And they are prescribed only for vital indications.
Antibiotics that are applied locally are considered the safest during pregnancy. One of these drugs is the aerosol "Bioporox". It is recommended to spray it on the affected area of the throat two or three times a day.
In addition to antibacterial therapy, expectant mothers are recommended to gargle with the following remedies (three to four times a day with each remedy):
- warm aqueous solution of salt,
- chamomile or sage decoctions.
These rinses should be alternated with rinsing with antiseptic solutions:
- miramistina,
- chlorhexidine.
The following types of gargling are also recommended:
- Take half a glass of water, in which one tablespoon of three percent hydrogen peroxide is dissolved.
- In the second glass, pour either one teaspoon of calendula alcohol tincture per glass of water, or one teaspoon of Rotokan per glass of water.
- It is necessary to alternate rinsing from these two glasses in one procedure of rinsing the throat. In this case, take a sip of water from the first glass, gargle the throat while pronouncing the letter "o" or "e". After which the solution is spat out and the larynx is rinsed in the same way with the second solution.
A pregnant woman should drink a lot. It is best if it is warm, non-acidic drinks - infusions and decoctions of medicinal herbs, pure or alkaline mineral water, vitamin infusions.
To reduce high body temperature during purulent tonsillitis, it is recommended:
- drinking linden blossom decoction,
- wiping with a mixture of vinegar and water (in a 1:1 ratio).
A pregnant woman should take preventive measures to recover as soon as possible even before being examined by a specialist. The best step would be to rinse the throat with a warm saline water solution, preferably as often as possible.
The diet of a pregnant woman during the treatment of purulent tonsillitis also refers to therapeutic measures. Experts recommend eating gentle and liquid food, which is represented by broths, boiled porridges on water, jelly, vegetable and fruit purees. Food should be warm, but not hot. Spicy and sour food, as well as smoked foods and marinades are strictly contraindicated during the period of healing from purulent tonsillitis.
Here are some herbal infusions and decoctions that are recommended for pregnant women to drink:
- One tablespoon of sage leaf is poured with a glass of boiling water, infused in a thermos for an hour. After which this infusion is used to gargle the throat, and also taken half a glass fifteen minutes before meals three times a day.
- One tablespoon of chamomile flowers is poured with one glass of boiling water. Then it is infused in a thermos for half an hour, and then filtered. This infusion should be used to gargle four times a day, and also drunk as tea with honey, half a glass several times a day.
- One tablespoon of black elderberry fruits is poured with a glass of boiling water. It is infused in a thermos for twenty minutes, filtered and one tablespoon of honey is added to the infusion. The drink is taken a quarter of a glass four times a day.
- Two tablespoons of black elderberry are poured with two glasses of boiling water and placed in a water bath for half an hour. After which the decoction is cooled and filtered. It should be taken at night, half a glass at a time.
- One tablespoon of crushed stems and flowers of meadow cornflower is poured with half a liter of boiling water. After that, it is left to infuse in a thermos for two hours, and then filtered. The infusion is drunk one glass three times a day half an hour before meals.
Pregnant women are not recommended to use warming compresses on the throat area, as well as to independently remove plaque from the tonsils. Such self-therapy measures can only aggravate the disease and delay recovery.
Pregnant women need to remember that purulent tonsillitis is a dangerous disease not because of its symptoms, but because of possible serious complications for the entire body. Complex therapy that is not carried out in time can cause problems with joints, heart and kidneys.
It is very important for a pregnant woman to take care of herself and stay in bed until she has fully recovered.
Here are some folk remedies that are recommended for use in cases of purulent tonsillitis during pregnancy.
Inhalations and aromatherapy
They are used in the initial period of the disease, as well as at the stage of recovery, in the absence of fever in the patient. You can use rosehip, eucalyptus, thyme, hyssop and chamomile oils. The inhalation procedure is as follows. Water is heated in a container, a few drops of the selected oil are added to it. After that, you need to lean over the container and cover your head with a towel. You need to breathe in the vapors of essential oils through an open throat for a few minutes, and then go to bed under a warm blanket. The only caveat is individual intolerance to oils. Therefore, you need to carefully monitor your own feelings and immediately stop the procedure if something goes wrong.
Inhalation over potatoes
The procedure is simple: boil potatoes in a small amount of water until a smell appears (namely, from the tubers). After that, a couple of drops of fir oil or a pinch of cinnamon are added to the broth. This steam is inhaled through the nose and mouth for ten to fifteen minutes. Then you need to immediately go to bed, and then drink a glass of very warm vitamin tea.
Treatment of purulent tonsillitis without fever
In the vast majority of cases, purulent tonsillitis is accompanied by elevated temperature. It happens that some patients do not experience an increase in body temperature, and the pathological process occurs against the background of normal body temperature (or slightly elevated, for example, up to 37 - 37.2 C). Such a picture of the disease is observed in patients with a strong and stable decrease in immunity. Usually, purulent tonsillitis is characterized by the appearance of fever - high temperature in combination with chills and severe weakness of the patient.
In some cases, purulent tonsillitis can be confused with other diseases or conditions. For example, food debris found in the larynx can be mistaken for pus on the tonsils. This problem is easily eliminated by drinking a few sips of water.
In some cases, the patient's condition may worsen due to burns or injuries to the larynx, in which a certain coating appears on the mucous membrane of the pharynx. In this case, the body temperature does not rise, the coating turns out to be fibrous - tightening the surface of the wound. In this case, the person's condition can be confused with purulent tonsillitis.
With chronic tonsillitis, purulent plugs may appear in the larynx, which are easily mistaken for plaque on the tonsils, which characterizes purulent tonsillitis. It can be said that such plugs can form even in healthy people, not only in patients with chronic tonsillitis. In some cases, the existing purulent plaque on the tonsils does not characterize purulent tonsillitis at all, but the defeat of the tonsils by fungal infections, symptoms of Venchan's angina, signs of syphilitic tonsillitis, manifestations of stomatitis. Therefore, if white plaque appears on the tonsils and there is no elevated body temperature, you should not hastily diagnose yourself with "purulent tonsillitis".
Treatment of purulent tonsillitis without fever involves the same procedures that are used for purulent tonsillitis with fever. First of all, you need to start gargling every hour with the following solutions:
- aqueous solution of furacilin,
- aqueous solution of potassium permanganate,
- warm aqueous solution of salt,
- warm water solution of salt and soda.
After that, you need to see a doctor to get antibiotics and other medications to relieve the symptoms of the disease. The use of antipyretics in this case will not be necessary, and this is already good news.
Purulent tonsillitis: home treatment
At home, to quickly recover from the disease, it is recommended to adhere to the following rules of therapy:
- Bed rest. The patient must stay in bed, as he will suffer from increased weakness, which is a consequence of the high temperature. Also, the limited diet, which must be followed for a speedy recovery, does not contribute to increasing the body's tone.
- A large amount of liquid that must be drunk per day. The patient should drink at least two liters of clean water per day. It is also useful to drink fruit drinks without sugar with honey, compotes without sugar, freshly prepared juices and mineral alkaline still water.
- Introducing gentle foods into the diet that do not injure the inflamed throat. Such dishes include jelly, boiled liquid porridges on water, mashed potatoes, other vegetable purees, broths, etc. Spicy, hot and cold dishes should be excluded from the patient's diet for the duration of the illness.
- Drinking and eating food and drinks that contain a large amount of vitamins. This measure is necessary to activate the patient's immune defense for a speedy recovery. Vitamin foods include honey, honeycombs, and other bee products. Vitamin infusions of medicinal herbs, rose hips, freshly prepared juices, and mashed berries without sugar (or with honey added) are also good. Healthy berries include cranberries, raspberries, black currants, and lingonberries.
Purulent tonsillitis is a serious infectious disease, so for a speedy recovery the patient needs to be provided with the best conditions. Home treatment of such serious illnesses helps the patient to quickly gather strength to activate immune processes and cope with the disease.
Medicines for the treatment of purulent tonsillitis
Patients and their relatives who want to alleviate the condition of a loved one need to know that medications for the treatment of purulent tonsillitis are prescribed only by a specialist and only individually, taking into account the specific picture of the patient's disease. The doctor also takes into account the general condition of the patient, as well as the state of affairs with other organs and systems of the body of the person who has come to him.
Therefore, self-medication for such a serious disease as purulent tonsillitis is completely unacceptable. Because taking medications without consulting a doctor can do more harm to the patient than help him recover.
For purulent tonsillitis, the following groups of drugs are used:
- Medicines for local treatment.
- warm gargling solutions;
- lozenges;
- aerosols with antiseptic properties;
- aerosols containing antibiotics.
- Antibiotics – in tablet and injection form.
To combat viral or bacterial infections, antibiotics and antiviral drugs are used orally or intramuscularly.
- Corticosteroids.
This type of medication is used for severe swelling of the larynx and difficulty swallowing. To relieve pain in the throat and problems with swallowing food, it is recommended to use corticosteroids. Practice has shown that this type of medication has no side effects in the treatment of purulent tonsillitis, and is also distinguished by good effectiveness in the fight against the disease.
- Antipyretic agents.
- Painkillers.
When treating purulent tonsillitis, a comprehensive treatment method is used to achieve the best effect. This means that it is necessary to use drugs from different groups - both local and antibacterial, and if necessary - corticosteroids, antipyretics and painkillers.
So, let's take a closer look at some of the drugs that can help in the treatment of purulent tonsillitis.
- Warm rinses include the following:
- use of furacilin solution - one tablet of the product is crushed and dissolved in a glass of warm water, rinse once every two hours;
- using potassium permanganate (or potassium permanganate) - take a knife-tip of powder, dissolve it in a glass of warm water, mix well and gargle four times a day;
- rinsing with iodine, salt and baking soda at the same time - dissolve a teaspoon of salt in a glass of warm water, the same amount of soda, and drip two or three drops of iodine, rinse once an hour;
- use of chlorophyllipt solution - a teaspoon of the product is diluted in a glass of warm water and the inflamed larynx is rinsed three times a day;
- using chlorhexidine - first gargle with boiled water, then with a tablespoon of the drug for half a minute; after which you should not eat for two to three hours;
- use of stopangin - take one tablespoon of the antiseptic in your mouth and gargle with it for half a minute from two to five times a day; it is also recommended to lubricate the sore throat with this remedy using a cotton swab on a pencil;
- use of miramistin - gargle with a tablespoon of the drug for a minute two to five times a day;
- gargling with stomatodin - gargle the inflamed throat with one tablespoon of the preparation for half a minute from two to five times a day; also lubricate the inflamed larynx with this medicine;
- use of eucalyptus alcohol infusion - fifteen drops of the product are diluted in a glass of water, and the throat is rinsed once an hour.
- From lozenges with local action you can use:
- lysobactom,
- neoanginoma,
- pharyngosept,
- chlorophyllipt,
- travisilom,
- Doctor Mom tablets,
- Imudon.
- It is also recommended to use the treatment of tonsils with the following medications to get rid of pathogenic plaque and disinfect:
- using hydrogen peroxide - twice a day;
- using stomatodin - two or three times a day;
- using oily chlorophyllipt - the throat is treated two or three times a day;
- Lugol's solution, which will be discussed below.
- The following antiseptic sprays are recommended:
- Miramistina,
- Pharyngosepta spray,
- Angal S spray,
- Chlorophyllipt spray,
- Stopangina spray,
- Ingalipta,
- Tantum Verde,
- Ingalipa.
Purulent tonsillitis: treatment with Lugol's solution
Purulent tonsillitis is a disease in which disinfection of the affected part of the larynx with local solutions is strongly recommended. One of the most common remedies is Lugol's solution (or aerosol). This medication contains molecular iodine, which has an antiseptic and local irritant effect. Due to the above qualities, Lugol's solution or aerosol has a bactericidal effect. Which helps to cope with the manifestations of purulent tonsillitis. It should be noted that this drug is not recommended for use during pregnancy.
Treatment of purulent tonsillitis with Lugol is carried out as follows. If Lugol is used in the form of a spray, then the affected areas of the larynx, as well as the mucous membrane of the pharynx and mouth are irrigated with it. Such injections must be done from two to six times a day.
The injection mechanism itself is as follows. Before pressing the sprayer, the patient needs to inhale and hold his breath, and then press the sprayer once. After that, it is recommended to refrain from drinking and eating for half an hour. If the medicine accidentally gets on the mucous membrane of the eye, they need to be thoroughly rinsed with running water, and then do the same using sodium thiosulfate.
If you have Lugol's solution, which is packaged in a bottle, you need to take tweezers. You need to attach a cotton swab to it, which is then dipped in the liquid. If you don't have tweezers, you can simply wrap a pencil in cotton wool and also wet it with the solution. After that, the patient needs to open his mouth wider so that it is convenient to lubricate the affected surface of the pharynx with the medicine. Particular attention should be paid to applying the solution to the tonsils and oral cavity.
You can also use another method that our grandmothers used. Take a piece of sterile cotton wool, dip it in the solution, place it in your mouth and suck it for a few minutes.
If Lugol is used at the initial stage of the disease and in complex treatment, it is a very effective means of relieving the symptoms of the disease. You can also use Lugol's solution or aerosol when the sore throat has not yet developed into purulent. In this case, you can avoid prescribing antibiotics and get by with a minimal set of healing agents. If the patient has a high temperature that lasts for several days, it is inappropriate to treat sore throat only with Lugol's solution. Such symptoms indicate severe inflammation and a powerful, constantly developing infectious process in the larynx. In this case, it is necessary to connect antibiotics that are used orally.
Treatment of purulent tonsillitis with antibiotics
Antibacterial drugs for the treatment of angina are a necessary measure for the fastest recovery from this serious infectious disease. If you ignore the doctor's recommendation and try to treat angina with other means, such self-medication can harm the patient. Since complications after purulent angina are very significant and spread to many organs and systems of the human body.
In foreign practice, it is common to use antibiotics by injecting drugs into a vein. In our country and neighboring countries, most often, purulent tonsillitis is treated with antibiotics by oral use of drugs in tablets and intramuscular injections.
The most common list of antibiotics for the treatment of purulent tonsillitis is as follows. Experts recommend using:
- erythromycin,
- phenoxymethylpenicillin (or otherwise, penicillin type V),
- amoxicillin,
- clarithromycin (in the presence of allergic reactions to drugs of the penicillin group),
- clindamycin.
When used locally, it is best to use antibiotics in the form of aerosols. The most common of these is the drug Bioporox. According to the instructions, it can be used in the form of injections on the affected area in the larynx, two to three injections, one or four times a day.
The choice of antibiotic for the treatment of purulent tonsillitis depends on many factors, primarily the general health of the patient. If, for example, the patient has some kidney or liver diseases, this becomes an obstacle to the use of some names of antibacterial agents.
You should also know that there are certain types of antibiotics that are not compatible with the simultaneous use of certain contraceptives (for example, combined birth control pills). You must inform your doctor about their use so that he or she can prescribe the most appropriate antibiotic treatment option. Or the specialist will be able to suggest another type of contraception for the period of time when you need to take antibiotics.
So, here is an extended list of antibiotics used in the treatment of purulent tonsillitis. In alphabetical order, this list looks like this:
- azithromycin,
- amoxiclav,
- amoxil,
- amoxicillin,
- augmentingramox,
- benzylpenicillin,
- bicillin,
- josamycin,
- clarithromycin
- lincomycin,
- midecamycin,
- midecamycin acetate,
- ospamox,
- roxithromycin,
- spiramycin,
- sumamed,
- phenoxymethylpenicillin,
- Flemoxin,
- chemomycin,
- hiconcil,
- erythromycin,
To understand the dosage of the drug, as well as the duration of treatment, it is necessary to be examined by a doctor, as well as to read the instructions attached to the drug.
Folk treatment of purulent tonsillitis
In order for folk remedies to be effective, they should be used at the first signs of sore throat. At the beginning of the disease, it is recommended to use beaten cabbage leaves, which are applied externally to the projection of the places affected by the infection. After that, the cabbage leaves are wrapped in a scarf made of natural wool, and the patient lies down under a blanket to rest.
In parallel with this, it is recommended to chew some honeycomb. If you don't have any, regular natural honey will do, which is good to dissolve in your mouth. Honey has excellent bactericidal properties that help to cope with the infection that has settled in the larynx.
If the symptoms of the disease are already advanced and the sore throat has developed into a purulent one, then it is necessary to use other methods of combating the disease. Folk treatment of purulent sore throat recommends using the following methods:
- Gargle at least six times a day for three to five minutes with the following “potions”:
- freshly prepared beetroot juice with one spoon of vinegar, which is diluted in a glass of clean water;
- a solution of hydrogen peroxide in water - one teaspoon per glass of clean water;
- calendula flower decoctions - one teaspoon of dried (or fresh) flowers should be poured with a glass of clean water and brought to a boil, after which the decoction is removed from the heat, filtered and used as directed;
- a decoction of fresh or dried rose petals - the medicine is prepared in the same way as in the previous case;
- a solution of salt with salt - take half a teaspoon of each product and dissolve in a glass of water, add a drop of iodine; this product has excellent qualities in reducing inflammation, as well as in neutralizing pathogenic microorganisms;
- kombucha infusion;
- infusions of chamomile flowers and sage infusion - take a tablespoon of any one raw material and pour a glass of boiling water over it, then leave it in a thermos for one hour and use as directed;
- It is good to use for these purposes an alcohol solution of Rhodiola rosea, which is diluted in half a glass of water - thirty drops of tincture for the required amount of liquid;
- Garlic infusion in water is an excellent antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory agent; it is prepared simply and quickly - garlic is crushed in a press and filled with water, left for half an hour and then the throat is gargled with the resulting liquid.
- Compresses that are placed on the neck in the area of projection affected from the inside of the larynx:
- The most effective method is to mix one part aloe with two parts honey and three parts vodka; then pour the liquid onto gauze, wrap it around your throat, cover it with film on top and wrap it in a scarf.
- Inhalations:
- you need to breathe in the steam from water in which soda is dissolved and bay leaf is infused;
- you can breathe in the steam from boiled potatoes;
- It will be effective to use steam from boiled milk.
- Chewing propolis as a powerful antibacterial agent. Which also contains substances that can stimulate the patient's immunity.
- Regular intake of freshly prepared juices - carrot, carrot-apple, beetroot-apple, beetroot-carrot-apple, pumpkin, pumpkin-apple.
- By constantly drinking anti-inflammatory infusions, such as chamomile infusion, linden blossom infusion,
During the treatment of angina, it is important to use a comprehensive approach, that is, a combination of different methods of therapy. At the same time, of course, it is necessary to remember that a patient with purulent angina is shown rest and bed rest. And only in this case will he be able to begin to accumulate strength to fight the disease and get better.
Fast treatment of purulent tonsillitis
Since purulent tonsillitis is a serious infectious disease, it cannot be cured quickly. But it is possible to speed up the recovery process and avoid unpleasant complications. The main thing is that the patient must strictly follow the rules of proper therapy, then the result will be visible in a short time.
First of all, you need to stick to bed rest and stay in bed all the time. Secondly, with the appearance of the first signs of unpleasant symptoms, you should start doing throat inhalations and gargling. Thirdly, you need to consult a doctor and follow all his requirements for taking antibiotics that a specialist prescribes.
Fast treatment of purulent tonsillitis involves the following manipulations with a sore throat. Immediately after the first symptoms appear, namely sore throat, high temperature, etc., you need to buy an oil solution of chlorophyllipt. They need to treat the affected tonsils, be sure to carefully remove the pustules. For these purposes, the pencil needs to be wrapped in a cotton swab, moistened in the solution and treated with them the necessary places in the larynx. This should be done at least four times a day. After the first day of such a procedure, the patient feels much better.
Effective treatment of purulent tonsillitis
Effective treatment of purulent tonsillitis requires prompt action at the first symptoms of the disease.
Every hour it is necessary to resort to gargling with a warm solution of salt in water. It is possible to do this more often, it all depends on the patient's desire to recover. The effectiveness of such treatment has been noted even in the late stages of purulent tonsillitis. What can we say about the initial stage of the disease, when the disease can be dealt with in a few days! With constant gargling, viruses or bacteria are washed out with the help of a liquid for gargling.
In addition to antibiotics prescribed by the doctor for oral administration, it is necessary to take care of the preparations for resorption and aerosols for the larynx. Their action is local, and therefore effective. Such medications act directly on the source of the disease, which is an undoubted advantage when choosing a means of therapy. If you use means for resorption and irrigation of the larynx, pathogenic microorganisms are swallowed, that is, removed from the affected areas. Although the patient needs to know that these drugs do not replace gargling, therefore, you should not replace gargling with them. It is best to combine these two methods of local therapy.
Purulent tonsillitis is characterized by high activity of pathogenic microorganisms, which begin to spread throughout the patient's body. To avoid complications, it is necessary to drink plenty of fluids to prevent bacterial intoxication.
Antibiotics for purulent tonsillitis must be taken orally or by injection. The occurrence of lesions in the larynx, tonsils and oral cavity indicates that the patient's immunity has decreased, and microbes have been able to overcome a number of protective barriers. In order to effectively suppress the pathogenic microflora and quickly recover, it is necessary to carefully follow the instructions of the attending physician and take the medications prescribed by him.
For a speedy recovery, the patient needs strength and a positive psychological attitude. Constant pain, which is present with purulent tonsillitis, can exhaust the patient and prevent him from eating and drinking normally. This state of affairs is unacceptable for the treatment of the disease. Therefore, in case of severe and debilitating pain, it is recommended to take analgesics (painkillers), which can relieve pain and help the patient regain his strength. Analgesics are taken before meals, fifteen to twenty minutes before eating. Analgesics also help to cope with high temperature (over 38.5 C), as well as symptoms of fever. If the patient experiences a drop in temperature and a decrease in pain to bearable levels, it is better to stop taking painkillers and antipyretics.
If you follow the above recommendations, as well as all the doctor's instructions, the disease may subside in a few days. But you should not rest on your laurels. Since the patient's body is weakened, it is necessary to continue to stay in bed, rest a lot, drink plenty of fluids, especially vitamin infusions, fruit drinks, and unsweetened teas. And also continue to gargle and take antibiotics for as long as the attending physician prescribed.
Treatment of purulent tonsillitis is a labor-intensive but necessary process that requires the patient and his relatives to take a reasonable approach to their health, as well as to follow the correct therapeutic measures.
