Bradycardia in children is a condition accompanied by a decrease in pulse and heart rate. In this case, the child becomes lethargic and apathetic. The danger of this condition is that the tissues and cells of the body do not receive enough nutrients and oxygen, hypoxia (oxygen starvation) develops, and trophism (tissue nutrition) is disrupted. This condition is especially dangerous for the cerebral cortex, since it is very sensitive to oxygen content.
In parallel, there is a decrease in the processes of removing by-products from the body, including carbon dioxide. As a result, the partial pressure of carbon dioxide increases, and hypercapnia develops. This condition is dangerous due to intoxication, further slowing down of metabolic processes, negatively affects the state of nervous and hormonal regulation, reduces the state of immunity, the body's resistance, and disrupts the entire biochemical cycle in the body.
The main thing to do is to determine the exact cause of bradycardia and eliminate it. That is, etiological treatment is required. To do this, you need to take the diagnosis seriously, undergo all the necessary examinations that will allow you to make a diagnosis. Therefore, as soon as there is a suspicion of the development of bradycardia, you need to contact a cardiologist. Self-medication should not be done under any circumstances, since in case of heart disease this can be dangerous and even fatal.
Medicines
In case of heart disease, self-medication should never be done, as side effects may develop, including deterioration of heart function, circulatory disorders, sudden cardiac arrest. There are precautions that must be taken to avoid harming yourself during treatment. It is important not only not to self-medicate, but also not to take any measures until a diagnosis is made.
During treatment, it is recommended to take analgin, which helps thin the blood and normalize metabolism in the blood. It prevents the risk of developing blood clots and eliminates inflammatory processes. Take one tablet 2-3 times a day, depending on the severity of the disease and the individual characteristics of the patient.
Cardiomagnyl is taken one tablet per day. This drug normalizes metabolic processes, improves heart function, regulates rhythm, heart rate, increases automatism and conductivity of the heart muscle. Contains a set of essential vitamins and minerals necessary to maintain normal functioning of the heart and blood vessels.
Corvalol is used when the heart rate slows down, as well as when there is a feeling of panic, nervous and mental overstrain, and arrhythmia. It normalizes the rhythm and soothes. It is taken depending on age, severity of the disease, and problem. For children under 1 year, 2-3 drops are prescribed, previously dissolved in a small amount of water. For children from 1 to 3 years old, the dosage is increased to 7 drops. From 3 to 12 years old, it is recommended to increase the dosage to 10-12 drops. Over 12 years old, you can drink 15-20 drops. The frequency of administration is three times a day.
Asparkam is taken one tablet 1-2 times a day. This is a drug that normalizes heart activity and increases the contractility of the heart muscle. It is recommended for children over 12 years old who are subject to high physical activity and frequent stress.
Magneli for bradycardia in a child
Prescribed to children with a slow heart rate. Magneli not only increases the heart rate when it decreases, but also decreases it when the heart rate increases. That is, the drug is aimed at normalizing metabolic processes in the heart. The composition includes magnesium, which is necessary to maintain normal contractility of the heart. This is one of the main minerals that support the functioning of the heart, stabilize the blood composition.
Suprax
It is a drug that is produced in the form of granules for the preparation of a suspension. The main active ingredient is cefixime trihydrate, which by its nature belongs to the cephalosporin group of antibiotics. Prevents the development of infectious heart diseases, myocarditis, and infectious cardiomyopathies. The drug is active against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms. It is also prescribed to reduce blood viscosity, increase automatism and contractile activity of the heart. Prescribed for children over 12 years old at 400 mg per day. It can be taken once, or the dose can be divided into 2 doses (200 mg each).
Elkar
It is a stimulant that acts as a good nourishment for the heart. It is used to stimulate maturation, heart activity in premature and newborn babies, in case of heart weakness, and also to stimulate the heart muscle during intense physical activity.
Often prescribed to athletes. Prescribed to prevent the risk of developing cardiac muscle overload, to prevent cardiac muscle overstrain. Prescribed to premature babies 10 drops, children aged 1 to 3 months - 20-25 drops, from 3 months to 1 year - 0.4-0.5 ml. For children over 1 year old, the dosage is calculated depending on body weight.
Vitamins
When bradycardia develops, it is necessary to take vitamins, since most such diseases are directly or indirectly associated with a violation of vitamin metabolism and their deficiency in the body. Heart diseases are associated primarily with a deficiency of vitamins B, H, PP. Therefore, it is recommended to take vitamins in the following daily concentrations:
- Vitamin PP – 60 mg
- Vitamin B – 240 mcg
- Vitamin H – 45 mcg
- Vitamin C – 1000 mg.
You can also buy a special vitamin complex for the heart, which contains all the necessary vitamins and microelements for the heart and blood vessels. For example, Vitrum for the heart, and other vitamin complexes.
Physiotherapy treatment
It is essential to consult a cardiologist, since in some cases physiotherapy may be contraindicated.
Otherwise, traditional methods of physiotherapy are used, which are especially effective in complex treatment. The main methods of physiotherapy are ultrasound, microcurrents, and waves of various lengths. Electrophoresis is used, with the help of which drugs are introduced directly into the damaged tissue. The depth of their penetration is regulated by microcurrent. Cryoprocedures and thermal procedures are indicated. Sometimes electrical procedures are used. It should be taken into account that electrical procedures may be contraindicated in the presence of a pacemaker. Physical therapy is also used (if the cardiologist allows it ). Active and passive gymnastics are used.

The following herbs have a vasodilating effect: stinging nettle, licorice, and galangal root.
Fireweed, lemon balm, thyme, and cherry stalks increase heart rate.
To prevent thrombosis and blood diseases, use 15 grams of fresh flower pollen. It acts as a biostimulant.

Is it possible to play sports if a child has sinus bradycardia?
Only the attending physician can say for sure, since everything depends on the characteristics of the pathology, the severity of the disease, the severity of the pathology and the stage of the disease. Usually, a moderate load is required, adapted to the individual needs of the child. Gymnastics, therapeutic physical training, various health practices can be used. Hatha yoga and qigong have a positive effect. Breathing and relaxation practices are important, which will help reduce the load on the body, minimize the impact of stress factors.
