The main symptoms of muscular-tonic syndrome are decreased tone, in which the muscles become soft, saggy, and their contractile activity is impaired. In the early stages, there is simply a violation of muscle function, in which it is difficult for a person to make certain movements, since the affected area does not obey, the muscle is not able to contract and perform movements. In later stages of muscular-tonic syndrome, complete muscle atony occurs, in which it is impossible to perform movements, as a result of which the ability to move is impaired, disability and limited movement develop.

Cervicalgia

It is a violation of the normal condition of the cervical spine (cervical spine). Thus, this pathology can be accompanied by a decrease in muscle tone, a violation of the normal, natural position of the vertebrae. Often accompanying factors are pain syndrome, which progresses rather quickly and radiates to various parts of the spine, back. The pain is especially intense in the paravertebral muscles, it can also radiate to the lower back, buttocks, sciatic muscles, pelvic area.

The nature of the pain can differ dramatically from any other pain. Quite often, there is a shooting pain, which is especially pronounced when turning the neck, bending to the side. Many people have a dull, aching pain in the neck. But sometimes they also note a sharp, piercing pain, which from the neck area diverges along the entire length of the nearby nerve, and gives to the sternum, collarbones, and sometimes to the intercostal muscles, along the spine.

Thoracalgia

It is a pathology of the thoracic spine, in which there is a decrease in muscle tone of this section (the leading symptom). At the same time, other accompanying symptoms include pain, decreased sensitivity, and limited movement.

In the development of this pathology, an important role is played not only by the immediate causes that cause a decrease in tone, but also by predisposing factors such as a sedentary lifestyle, poor nutrition, alcohol abuse, smoking, and emotional stress.

The fast pace of modern life, numerous neuropsychic loads, have an adverse effect on people's health. The resulting overstrain - stress, entails various physiological disorders, which are most clearly expressed at the level of the vertebral spine (psychosomatics). It is these disorders that subsequently become the root cause of all further diseases, further decrease in tone, disability.

Dorsopathy

It is a disorder of muscle tone and sensitivity of the back and side surfaces of the body. The pathology is most intensely expressed in unilateral paralysis, asymmetries, and disorders of vital tone. It may be accompanied by pain, decreased overall muscle sensitivity, joint contractures, muscle and skeletal stiffness.

Sciatica

It is a lesion of the lumbar spine, in which the sciatic nerve is also involved in the inflammatory process. Pinching of the sciatic nerve by inflamed and swollen tissues can also be noted. There may be many reasons. But one cannot ignore the fact of a significant decrease in the motor activity of modern man. Mechanized production, close transport interchange. The availability of an increasing variety of vehicles - all these are the advantages of a modern lifestyle, which, however, are not without their drawbacks.

They save human labor, however, they result in numerous undesirable consequences for the body, entail detraining of the body, and as a consequence - the development of inflammatory processes, decreased muscle tone. Based on the reasons, it is easy to conclude that the main means of treating pathology is increasing motor activity. In this case, the best proven methods are active-passive gymnastics, hatha yoga, qigong, and therapeutic physical culture.

Lumbago with muscular-tonic syndrome

It is a lumbar spine injury, which is accompanied by an inflammatory process and decreased muscle tone. The main reason for the development of such a condition is insufficient motor activity. Thus, scientists have calculated that a modern office worker spends approximately 1.4 and 2.3 hours of his time per day on static and dynamic movements. The rest of the time is spent on sedentary work and sleep.

Modern living conditions are characterized by a sharp decrease in the share of physical labor and equally sharp nervous tension. All this leads to the development of lumbago, pain, and atony.

Cervical osteochondrosis with muscular-tonic syndrome

The essence is in the violation of mobility and functional state of the cervical spine. There is an intensive deposition of layers in the cervical spine. All this contributes to the violation of blood circulation, tissue nutrition, as a result of which the muscles do not receive the necessary amount of nutrients, oxygen. At the same time, a large number of by-products of metabolism, carbon dioxide are retained in the muscles. Also, the cause of such a condition can be neuropsychic overstrain, decreased vascular and muscle tone. Currently, there are more professions that require intense attention, an increased degree of responsibility. At the same time, nervous tension is growing and increasing.

Neuropsychic stress entails a violation of hormonal regulation, shifts the hormonal balance. As a result, arterial pressure increases, vascular spasms develop, and premature wear of the blood anticoagulant system occurs.

Cervicobrachialgia with muscular-tonic syndrome

It is a decrease in the tone of the cervical spine (neck). At the same time, the muscles of the bronchi are also involved in the process. Narrowing of the bronchial lumen occurs, which entails shortness of breath, lack of oxygen, attacks of suffocation, spasms.

Quite often observed in teenagers. This is due to the fact that modern teenagers have a low level of activity (hypokinesia). This develops especially intensively in high school students. Hypokinesia has a particularly negative effect on the state of the muscular system, entails a decrease in vitality. This leads not only to atony, but also to a delay in the development of the main functional systems of the body, persistent disruption of metabolic processes, and a decrease in performance. However, one should not go to extremes - excessive physical activity also negatively affects health. Hyperkinesia is also a serious problem that negatively affects health.

Cervicocranialgia and thoracolumbago with muscular-tonic syndrome

It is a disorder of muscle tone in the cervical and occipital regions. There can be many reasons. The main one is the incorrect position of the head and neck during sleep, insufficient motor activity, and overeating.

Overeating is typical for modern man, and is essentially anarchism, a relic of past centuries. It is considered a bad habit that has a negative impact on health. Overeating leads to excess body weight, physical inactivity, physical inactivity, and, as a consequence, high morbidity. The main means of therapy is regulation of the diet, massage of the cervical-collar zone, as well as a sufficient level of motor activity.

Thoracolumbago is a disease of the thoracic and lumbar spine, which is accompanied by decreased muscle tone and pain.

Muscular tonic syndrome on the right, on the left

Characterized by decreased muscle tone on both sides of the spinal column. Treatment is mainly symptomatic, aimed at increasing muscle tone, relieving pain if present, and eliminating spasms. For this purpose, massage, manual therapy sessions, warming ointments and creams, some medications, therapeutic exercise, isotonic, health-improving gymnastics, and active-passive techniques are used.

Muscular-tonic syndrome in a child

Decreased muscle tone in children can be caused by both congenital and external factors. Thus, congenital factors are most often incurable and are genetically determined. It is noted that such conditions often progress and end in paralysis and disability. Decreased muscle tone occurs as a result of insufficient training of the body, neuropsychic overstrain, lack of vitamins, minerals, and metabolic disorders.

Stages

Conventionally, three stages of development of muscular-tonic syndrome can be distinguished.

The first stage is characterized by a moderate decrease in muscle tone. As a rule, the tone decreases on both sides of the spine. Atony can also affect the muscles of the limbs. At the same time, there is a feeling of pressure, discomfort in the area where muscle tone is significantly reduced. Moderate pain may appear when staying in one position for a long time, during prolonged sleep, when trying to get up, with sudden and careless movements.

The second stage implies a rather pronounced decrease in tone, in which movements become difficult, pain increases, and becomes quite persistent. The situation is alleviated by moderate physical activity and intensifies with sudden movements and attempts to stand up.

At the third stage, the pain radiates rather quickly, affects the nerve. The inflammatory process and edema also develop. This is the third, chronic stage, in which the inflammatory process can constantly progress. There are a number of conditions under which the situation becomes more complicated and progresses. In the absence of adequate treatment, the condition can progress to disability. As for a positive outcome, it is also possible. But in this case, long-term treatment is required, which must necessarily be comprehensive. It must include medication, physiotherapy, homeopathic remedies and mandatory physical activity.

Moderate muscular-tonic syndrome

The main indicator of moderation is the average degree of muscle tone reduction, as well as controlled pain, which can be easily relieved with various medications. In this case, the muscles have a flaccid appearance, are soft and sagging, as a result of which their contractile activity decreases. This condition is reversible. The condition can be improved with the help of proper physical activity. It is regular exercise that is the key to muscle tone control and an indicator of the health of the nervous and musculoskeletal systems.

Severe muscular-tonic syndrome

A rather pronounced condition, which is characterized by the development of a strongly pronounced inflammatory process, decreased muscle tone and reduced contractile activity of muscles, and impaired nerve conduction. The pain is usually sharp, acute, more pronounced during the daytime, and also after a person has been in one position for a long time. A characteristic feature is that the pain is almost impossible to relieve. At least, it is practically not eliminated by physical exercise, but requires special treatment, such as injections, the use of local remedies. Most often, ointments, gels, creams and other medications are used.

Chronic muscular-tonic syndrome

A characteristic feature of a chronic condition is a temporary improvement or deterioration of the condition, which occurs under the influence of various factors. In this case, acute inflammation must first develop. Gradually, the acute process subsides. But if it is not cured completely, it will move to a more severe stage, which can last for years, but then an exacerbation of this condition will occur. As a rule, an exacerbation occurs under the influence of various factors that trigger the development of the disease. For example, this can be severe hypothermia, excessive nervous and mental stress, heavy physical exertion, and even poor nutrition, excess weight. It is worth noting that the number of people who experience a chronic decrease in muscle tone as a result of excess weight increases sharply. In this case, the main treatment is sports and physical education. Only 10% of obesity cases are associated with metabolic and hormonal imbalances (in this case, proper nutrition and an endocrinologist's consultation are required). In the remaining 90% of cases, the cause is insufficient physical activity and overeating.

Forms

There are several types of muscular-tonic syndrome. Their distribution by types depends on which of the spine sections or body parts is subject to decreased tone. Thus, muscular-tonic syndrome of the cervical-occipital section, cervical spine, thoracic and lumbar sections is distinguished. Separately, damage to the lumbar spine in combination with sciatica (damage to the sciatic nerve) is distinguished, in which the pain spreads to the buttocks, pelvic area, thighs, and sometimes even the shin.

There is also a reflex syndrome, which affects other parts of the body, depending on the affected area (segment) of the body. Spondylogenic syndrome, in which the intervertebral region (intervertebral discs) is also subject to pathology, is worth mentioning separately. Pain syndrome, which is accompanied by severe pain, sometimes spasms, is worth mentioning separately. In addition, the syndrome can be primary or secondary, depending on the origin and source of damage.

Muscular-tonic syndrome of the spine, or spondylogenic

Often the cause is improper nutrition. In particular, high-calorie, cholesterol-rich food, food. Saturated with fatty acids, easily digestible carbohydrates contribute to the aggravation of the pathology. Infiltration develops (the walls, muscle fibers are saturated with fatty components). This leads to the development of atherosclerosis, decreased tone. This contributes to the development of obesity, as a result of which diseases are much more severe, more difficult to treat.

There is information that obesity is one of the factors that complicates the course of the disease so much that it is practically untreatable. This leads to the fact that atony constantly progresses, and subsequently paralysis develops. It all ends in disability.

It is a decrease in muscle tone, as well as the development of an inflammatory process, damage to the intervertebral discs. In addition to a decrease in tone, a nerve is pinched between two adjacent vertebrae. Accordingly, pain occurs, which is acute. Without treatment, it can become chronic. The condition can be partially alleviated with the help of physical rehabilitation (massage, therapeutic exercise). Mandatory drug treatment and physiotherapy are also required.

Muscular-tonic syndrome of the thoracic region

To eliminate this pathological condition, the main condition is to maintain the required level of physical activity. When doing physical exercises, you must adhere to strictly defined rules. Classes should begin with the simplest and end with more complex ones. Exercises should be complicated gradually. You should also strive to ensure that the load is placed on all muscle groups - arms, legs, torso.

Reflex muscular-tonic syndrome

It is important to monitor your breathing – it should be rhythmic, deep, and should match the tempo of your movements. After doing the exercises, you should pause for 30-40 seconds to give your muscles a little rest.

Secondary muscular-tonic syndrome

Constant physical activity is required to increase muscle tone. The easiest way to maintain an optimal level of physical activity is walking. It is a proven aid to exercise. It has been proven that to maintain normal vitality, each person should walk at least 10 kilometers per day.

Everyone knows about its benefits today. In recent years, this type of physical culture has gained many fans. Just a few years ago, the figure of a person in a tracksuit running along the city streets made many passers-by smile. Now we are used to such a picture. According to statistics, every third person who independently practices physical culture is interested in running. About the same number of people of different ages prefer to run, so to speak, in an organized manner - in sections, health groups, clubs.

Muscular tonic pain syndrome

Pain is well relieved by swimming and water procedures, hydromassage. The most effective is swimming in cool water at a temperature of not less than 20 degrees and not more than 24 degrees. It is this water that has the maximum effect on the body. This is not only about stimulating the endocrine system, toning the nerve centers and increasing the body's thermoadaptive capabilities, but also about the active hydrodynamic massage of the body and blood vessels, which we subject ourselves to when swimming. Pain is relieved during the release of anti-inflammatory factors, endorphins.
