Tooth enamel is the tissue that covers the dental crown. Its main function is to protect the teeth from mechanical and chemical damage. The thickness of the enamel in the chewing part of the tooth is a maximum of 1.7 mm, it is much thinner on the sides, and there is almost no neck at all. Since it constantly falls under the aggressive negative impact of environmental factors (which causes problems such as mechanical damage, washing out of fluoride and calcium particles from the enamel), strengthening tooth enamel is a necessary procedure for every person.
Means for strengthening tooth enamel
There are many means of strengthening tooth enamel. Among them, the use of certain foods.
Sesame seeds can remove plaque on the teeth and strengthen the enamel. They contain a lot of calcium, which protects teeth from destruction.
Hard cheeses contain a lot of phosphates and calcium, they have a low level of salt. These properties help maintain the pH balance of the oral cavity, eliminating excess acid, which promotes the growth of bacteria in the mouth.
Kiwi contains a lot of vitamin C, which is very important, as the deficiency of this element in the body reduces the level of collagen production. Because of this, the tissues are more easily exposed to bacteria, bleeding from the gums begins, and even periodontal disease may appear.
Celery, horseradish, shiitake mushrooms, onions, as well as green tea have antibacterial effect, help to clean teeth from plaque, protect the mouth cavity from the reproduction of bacteria that cause caries, and also eliminate the unpleasant odor from the mouth.
Healing toothpastes for strengthening enamel of teeth
Therapeutic toothpaste has some differences from the preventive one - it contains a much higher concentration of active substances. Healing toothpastes to strengthen the tooth enamel, such as LACALUT fluor, PRESIDENT Unique, Biocalcium, Sensodyne Repair & Protect, Colgate Sensitive Pro-Relief, Biorepair are not only suitable for the prevention of caries, but also treats its initial stage - petiolescent white spots colors that appear on the tooth enamel.
Such petty spots are a consequence of the demineralization of enamel. They arise because the enamel tissue has lost a lot of trace elements. Among the medicinal substances that are able to restore the demineralized areas of tooth enamel and strengthen its strength - a combination of calcium and fluoride.
Gels for strengthening tooth enamel
Such remineralizing, enamel-reinforcing gels as Elmex Gelee, ROCS Medical Minerals, LACALUT fluor Gel, Splat Likvum-Gel, Tooth Mousse help to heal the gums and strengthen the enamel. Due to poor quality food, poor ecology and poor oral hygiene, the flora in the mouth may be disturbed. Low-abrasive gels with a high concentration of therapeutic elements can be used for prevention or as a treatment. They are usually applied in the form of applications. To improve the quality of remineralizing therapy, you can use kappa. After application, approximately 1 hour is not allowed to drink.
Vitamins for strengthening tooth enamel
To strengthen the enamel, vitamins B6 and B12 are suitable - they have a positive effect on the condition and functioning of the gums, bones and teeth.
As a means to promote the renewal and strengthening of enamel, acts as vitamin D3. This element helps a better absorption of calcium and phosphorus (and these substances are the basis of tooth enamel).
Strengthening of tooth enamel by alternative means
There are various alternative methods to strengthen the enamel of the teeth. Among the most radical measures - cleaning the dental tissue with the white pulp of lemon peel. But this method is recommended to use only if other options are not possible at all, as this substance aggressively affects the gums and teeth.
Brush your teeth with water-soaked powder, which is obtained from 2 crushed tablets of activated carbon - the procedure is carried out twice a week.
Approximately 7-10 days in the evening rinse your mouth with a usual solution of soda or sea salt (1 tablespoon powder for 1 glass of warm water).
Another effective way is to stop consuming drinks (for example, sweet soda), which contribute to the development of demineralization of tooth enamel.
Strengthening of tooth enamel at home
To strengthen tooth enamel at home, you need to perform some additional procedures in addition to brushing your teeth. For example, apply a paste on the teeth and hold it for about 2-3 minutes - this method will help useful elements to absorb better in the enamel.
You can do a little gum massage. After washing your hands, massage your fingers with the gum surface with simple circular motions - first from right to left, and then vice versa. This method improves blood circulation in the gums, which in turn helps improve enamel nutrition.
Independently carrying out remineralization of teeth - it is carried out, using products containing calcium and other mineral elements. Firstly, it is milk and sour milk products, and secondly - lentils, beans, peas, beans, broccoli, celery and other vegetables, as well as fruits (it should be noted that they need fresh - only so they will be most useful) . This remineralization should be carried out by everyone, but especially it is necessary for pregnant women, since they have a higher risk of destruction of enamel.
Before you begin to strengthen the tooth enamel yourself, you should consult your dentist to get recommendations regarding the optimal drugs for your teeth containing fluoride with calcium. Also, the doctor will be able to tell you how to properly do a gum massage. Only due to proper care of the oral cavity your teeth will remain healthy and beautiful.
Strengthening of enamel in children
Strengthening the child's enamel tooth can be carried out using a fluoridation procedure.
Fluoride is an important microelement for the body, which contributes to the proper growth of teeth. In the process of fluoridation, dentists use specific compounds of this substance - fluorides. They can reduce the solubility index of tooth enamel and reduce the amount of bacteria released by bacteria. In addition, fluorides help to repair damaged enamel.
There are two methods of conducting dental fluoridation - simple and deep.
Simple fluoridation is carried out in 2 ways:
- The enamel is covered with a special lacquer containing fluorine. First, the dentist removes the plaque from the teeth, then applies the remedy to their surface and then drains them with a lamp. In order for the effect to be better, you should begin to perform fluoridation with lacquer immediately after the baby's teeth are chiselled, and repeat it regularly - twice a year.
- Imposition of special impressions on the teeth (cap). They are manufactured individually for each patient, and inside they are filled with a fluorine-containing substance, for example, a gel with fluoride and Parf Fluor Gel aminofluoride or a torech with fluoride. After that, they put the child on the teeth for about 15 minutes. For the result to be qualitative, it is necessary to perform 10-15 similar procedures.
The method of deep fluoridation is considered the most effective way of restoration of tooth enamel.
In the process of carrying out such a therapeutic procedure, a whole complex of actions is carried out:
- The teeth, as well as the space between them, are cleaned of plaque and tartar, after which they are thoroughly dried;
- Further on, they apply a drug containing fluorides, as well as copper and magnesium salts, and then dried again;
- After that, the enamel is treated with calcium hydroxide.
The molecules used in the process of the procedure go deep into the micro-pores of the tooth enamel, promoting qualitative remineralization, and also providing a long-term bactericidal effect. Deep fluoridation of the teeth should be performed at least 1 time in 12 months.
