What do we know about salt? It is an acute taste of natural origin, coming on sale in the form of small transparent crystals. It must be said that in the kitchen salt is an indispensable food additive used in cooking most of the dishes and preserving them. Yes, many people know that salt is a known preservative, but what are the reasons for these properties of the food product? The fact that salt is a wonderful antimicrobial agent that practically dries bacterial cells, which causes their death. It is this property of a popular food product that doctors take into account when salt is recommended for angina.

Today we will talk about how salt can be used in inflammatory diseases of the throat and what gives such treatment.

Angina and salt

In order to understand what can be useful salt in angina, it is necessary to understand what the above disease is. Angina, it is scientifically acute acute tonsillitis, is one of the inflammatory diseases of the throat with localization in the region of the pharyngeal ring. At the same time, reddening of the near components (sky, tongue) is observed first, but the process quickly spreads over the palatine tonsils, on which vesicles and pustules can appear under the influence of a bacterial or viral infection.

Despite the fact that the sore throat usually starts after the body, legs, or throat is undercooled (if the person breathed open mouth in the cold or drank a very cold drink), the main cause of the disease is considered to be bacteria and viruses (less often fungi of the Candida genus). It can be zabyte microbes, obtained by airborne droplets from a sick person, or their "rodnenkie" conditionally pathogenic microorganisms, waiting for their time for a long time.

The supercooling of the body in this case acts as a provoking factor, which reduces the immune defense of the body. And as soon as immunity gives slack, microbes begin to multiply actively. A weakened immune system that inhibits the multiplication of bacteria, viruses and fungi until this point, will no longer be able to perform its crucial function. Microorganisms begin to multiply actively and release substances that cause inflammation and suppuration in the throat.

There are several varieties of angina, which differ in their manifestations and course. But in all cases, the most symptomatic symptom of angina of any form is a sore throat, which is especially noticeable when swallowing, as well as using sharp or hot dishes. In the vast majority of cases, angina is accompanied by a strong fever, fever, weakness, redness of palatine arches, tonsils and tongue, a feeling of aches in the body, and sometimes submandibular lymph nodes may increase. With purulent forms of tonsillitis on the tonsils there is a whitish coating with purulent foci.

What can salt help with angina? It would seem that if pathogenic organisms, accumulating on the surface of the mucous throat, cause its inflammation and sore throat, then it is often enough to gargle with clean warm water to remove all this "evil spirits" from the throat and completely heal. Alas, in fact, such rinses do not bring the expected result, because they are able to remove mostly inactive and dead bacteria, not to mention the more tenacious viruses deepening into a living human cell, and fungi.

But if rinsing with water does not bring benefit even with the usual superficial (catarrhal) tonsillitis, what in this case is it better to gargle with purulent sore throat, pain, cold?

The name "purulent angina" suggests that the disease was caused by a bacterial infection, because it contributes to the appearance of foci of necrotic tissue filled with purulent contents. Most often, the disease causes a conditionally pathogenic microorganism, which is commonly referred to as Staphylococcus aureus. The danger of this bacterium is that by actively multiplying, it releases dangerous toxins that cause not only inflammation, but also cell death. Hence the appearance of purulent foci (pus - this is dead cells mixed with inflammatory exudates).

For treatment to be more effective, one water is not enough. She and her hands can not wash away all bacteria without the help of soap, and what can we say about the throat. A warm drink can only reduce pain a little and help fight dehydration due to a strong temperature increase.

To remove as many pathogens as possible, water must have special properties so that at the site of the lesion it creates conditions unsuitable for the life of bacteria. For example, adding vinegar to the water, we achieve an increase in acidity in the throat, and soda, on the contrary, makes the environment alkaline. For bacteria is not suitable as too acidic, and alkaline environment, so they weaken and they can easily be removed from the throat.

Salt with angina acts somewhat differently. This substance in a solution based on simple water can not only kill microorganisms that have accumulated on the surface of the mucous throat, but also those pests that have deepened inside the cells. How does she do it? It simply draws them to the surface together with the liquid from the tissues inside the oral cavity, and then it drains the microbial cell, disrupting the metabolic processes in it and leading to death.

So those who think that the salt solution acts in no way more efficient than simple water, are very mistaken about this. No wonder because during the Great Patriotic War in the absence of antibiotics doctors purulent wounds were washed with salt than saved the lives of many soldiers.

How to treat sore throat with salt?

Treatment of sore throat usually means frequent rinsing of the throat with saline solution or formulations in which salt is one of the medicinal components. If you grab the disease immediately and rinse regularly, you can prevent the spread of the infection inside the body and do without antibiotics.

Why did we speak about antibiotics? The fact is that the bacterial form of pathology is much more common than the viral or fungal form. And such an infection is usually treated with potent antimicrobial agents called "antibiotics."

It must be said that the pharmacodynamics of salt is similar to the same antibiotics, salt also kills germs, though in a slightly different way. But rinses we can achieve only the destruction of microbes in the mouth. If they penetrate deeper into the respiratory tract and blood, the salt will already be powerless against them.

The pharmacokinetics of table salt and sea salt were not considered by scientists, since saline solutions are used primarily for local treatment. Drinking plenty of salt inside can cause harm to human health (increase blood pressure, lead to the appearance of edema, provoke the development of tumor processes and even cause death if one occasionally use about 250 g of salt), so that as a medicine for internal intake salt is not used categorically recommended.

But back to the treatment of acute tonsillitis. Gargling with a solution of salt, of course, helps to fight with perspiration and sore throat, but not as effectively as we would like. It is customary for the people to calm down the pain with the help of heat. If it is a question of pain in the throat, then apply such acting means, as compresses (wet and dry).

It is clear that with regard to salt, you can only talk about dry compresses. By itself, salt with angina can not penetrate through the skin inside to fight bacteria. For these purposes, rinse the throat with saline. But the salt can keep the heat for a long time, so you can warm up, fall asleep in a linen bag, tie it up and use it to warm up the sore spot.

But the fact is that with angina with various kind of warming up you need to be careful. What does heat do? Reduces pain, and it's good. But warming up also increases the temperature (and it is already high in angina, and even so it is difficult to knock down) and contribute to the expansion of blood vessels (increase blood flow, and therefore accelerate the spread of infection throughout the body). At the first signs of angina and the absence of temperature, heat will help relieve pain and reduce inflammation without causing special harm. But with the development of the inflammatory process and all the more so when the angina enters the purulent form, any warming procedures will only exacerbate the situation.

It is necessary to understand that the question is not so much whether it is possible to heat sore throat with salt, how much affects the very possibility of carrying out warming procedures. It is difficult for a person far from medicine to judge the nature of the disease and the consequences of the procedures, so it is always necessary to discuss the possibility of conducting them with a specialist.

But with regard to rinses, a deep cleansing of the throat from the pathogenic microflora multiplying there will be useful in any form of pathology and at any stage of it, since it will reduce the probability of infection spreading inward, in contrast to warming up.

Another way to use salt in angina is inhalation. They can be carried out in two ways. Dissolve in one liter of hot water 2 tablespoons. Salt and breathe over steam for 5-10 minutes (you can use a nebulizer) or inhale the white "smoke" rising above the grinder during the grinding of the salt crystals in the flour.

Wet and dry inhalations with salt are not a specific treatment for angina, although they help fight bacteria in the throat and nose. Such procedures are usually prescribed for inflammatory diseases of the lungs and bronchi, because it is possible to penetrate deep into the respiratory system only in this way. By the way, the inhalation of microparticles of salt is a good prevention of many respiratory and bronchopulmonary pathologies. It's not for nothing that doctors recommend that you go to the sea in the summer, because there's even air soaked in salt. And his very inhalation is considered curative.

And one moment. With inhalations, it is preferable to use non-cooked, and sea salt, which does not necessarily have to go to sea resorts. Sea salt is now actively sold in pharmacies and stores (not to be confused with bath salts!), So getting an effective medicine for inhalation is not difficult.

The same can be said about the rinsing of the throat with angina. If possible, it is also better to use them with the use of sea salt. It is always necessary to pay attention not to its quality. The most useful salt is considered to be a greyish color (which indicates a rich mineral composition) without any additives.

Why sea salt, and what is it better than a cook? In principle, salt is a salt (scientifically sodium chloride), and antibacterial properties are characteristic of this substance, regardless of the place of its extraction. Just in the composition of sea salt, there is additionally a lot of other useful minerals: magnesium, potassium, bromine, selenium, etc., necessary for our body for normal functioning and maintenance at the height of immunity.

Sea salt with angina acts more effectively due to its ability to heal wounds in the throat, to reduce the allergic reaction (and inflammation can be regarded as the reaction of such a plan to the stimulus, which is the substances produced by pathogens), strengthen the tissues of the body, improve the nutrition of cells. It is believed that rinsing with sea salt will not only destroy the pathogenic infection, but also contribute to the rapid recovery of the mucosa after its damage by pathogens. And those particles of salt that will be swallowed, thanks to their rich mineral composition will bring additional benefit to the body.

Salt for cleansing throat

Gargling is a very important procedure for a disease such as angina, because most of the pathogens accumulate in the area of the tonsils. If they are actively removed from there, the disease will be much faster and easier. The less bacteria in the body, the weaker the phenomenon of intoxication, which is usually associated with a strong deterioration of health: headaches, general and muscle weakness, rapid fatigue.

With the need for a rinsing procedure, we sorted out and considered the question of why it is better to use not pure water for rinses, but a saline solution. It remains to be seen what the effective and safe proportions of salt will be when rinsing the throat with angina, for the saline solution is a general concept, and for different purposes, the compositions of different concentrations are used.

To rinse the sore throat, you can take both ordinary salt (stone, extra, iodized) and sea, which is considered even more effective, because such a procedure will carry not only a purifying, but also a fortifying nature. Prepare the rinse composition with the calculation that the water was not less than 1 cup, otherwise the effectiveness of the procedure is reduced.

How to prepare a healing solution for washing the throat? Take 1 glass of water, warm it to a slightly hot state (about 45 degrees) and throw 1 tsp there. Any salt. Stirring the composition thoroughly before dissolving the grains, we check that its temperature is about 38-42 degrees, and proceed to rinse the throat, which can be done every 1-2 hours.

A distinctive feature of sea salt is that it is enriched with iodine. This microelement is also a strong antiseptic (it negatively affects the proteins that are the building blocks of a bacterial cell) and promotes the healing of microscopic wounds on the inflamed mucous throat. This additionally speaks in favor of gargle rinse with sea salt.

If there is no good sea salt at home and there is no one to go after her to the store, you can make a composition similar to the seafood, but not so rich in microelements. To rinse the throat with salt and iodine in the angina in the finished salt solution, the preparation of which we have already disassembled, add 3 or 4 drops of iodine and mix thoroughly before use.

I do not need to add iodine much. This is unlikely to enhance the effectiveness of the procedure, but it can cause a mucous burn, which will only intensify the pain and sore throat. But we use rinses just to remove these unpleasant symptoms, and not to strengthen them.

Alternatively, instead of water, you can take a well-brewed and well-strained natural tea (remember that strong welding can also exhibit the properties of an antiseptic, while it has a beneficial effect on the mucous membrane, which makes it possible to apply it even on sensitive eye tissues). Tea with salt in angina used for rinsing is identical to the usual salt solution, taking the components in the same proportions. But to get a better effect, you can advise you to take leaf tea, but not packaged with a dubious composition.

Quite often, instead of salt, soda is used, which is also an antiseptic, plus it also softens the throat, removing the symptoms of persecution and pain. Soda is taken in the same proportions as the salt. But gargle with soda solution is often not possible, so as not to disturb the microflora of the oral cavity. Soda washings can be carried out 3-5 times a day.

Gargling with soda and salt at the beginning of the disease helps to remove up to 2/3 of pathogenic microbes. Doctors recommend combining these two components in one recipe for rinsing. Salt in the medicinal composition will be a natural antibiotic, and soda will create an alkaline medium in the throat, which will become an obstacle for the reproduction of the remaining bacteria.

For the composition of "soda + salt", we need to take 1 glass of warm water and add to it a half teaspoon of soda and salt. Some sources say that salt can be taken more - 1 teaspoon, but this composition is more suitable for the treatment of adult patients.

Any rinse composition containing salt will be effective both in superficial (catarrhal) and purulent form of angina. But in the latter case, it is better to use a complex composition based on sea salt and soda or its more popular variant: salt + soda + iodine.

All 3 components: salt, soda and iodine are very useful in angina due to their ability to fight disease-causing organisms, to remove inflammation, to accelerate the regeneration of mucosal tissues, it is important only to observe safe but effective proportions during the preparation of cleansing neck solutions. Usually 200-250 ml of warm water is advised to take 1 tsp. Loose components and 2-4 drops of iodine. A well-mixed compound without grains of salt or soda throat is recommended to rinse 3, and if necessary, 4 times a day.

It should be understood that the effectiveness of the throat rinse depends not only on the concentration of the medicinal solution, but also on many other factors that should always be remembered. The procedure will bring appreciable benefits only if its implementation will be correct and the main regular.

Rules for the preparation and implementation of the procedure for cleansing the throat with angina with medical preparations

How, according to doctors, you need to do gargling with salt and other antiseptic compounds with angina correctly:

  • Let's start with the water. This is an important component of solutions for rinsing the throat, on the quality of which the effectiveness of solutions depends. Tap water may contain a lot of various additives that will reduce the effectiveness of other components of the solution and promote the reproduction of bacterial microflora. For rinses it is better to take distilled, purified, mineral (without gas) or at least boiled water.
  • In addition to the quality of water, its temperature is also important. Angina is an inflammation of the tissues of the throat, which as a result becomes more sensitive to various kinds of irritants. Hot and cold water also belong to the category of such irritants. Cold water reduces the local immunity of the mucous throat, and hot water can cause it to burn. Ideally, water should have a temperature of no more than 45-50 degrees. But the most pleasant for the sick neck is water, heated to 38-40 degrees. It will gently moisten the drying mucous throat and soothe irritated tissues.
  • On the basis of clean, warm to warm water (220-250 ml), we prepare a therapeutic solution, which we use in one procedure in full. If the composition is left, it needs to be poured, and the new one should be prepared immediately before rinsing.
  • If there is a choice between cooking and sea salt, it is better to choose the latter. But in this case it is better not to add iodine to the solution.
  • When the solution is prepared and has a suitable temperature, it's time to start rinsing. To do this, breathing in the air, we take a small amount of rinse composition in the mouth (about 1.5-2 tablespoons) and tilt the head back so that the water does not pour out, but gets deep into the throat. Now for half a minute we hold the solution in the throat, but we do not just hold it, but we try to make the medicine water and the amygdala affected by the disease, and the tongue, the sky. To do this, breathing out the air a little, say the sound "Y", whose pronunciation allows you to release the passage of water deep into the throat. On hearing this is perceived as "ryi" in French.
  • You should try to hold water in your throat for at least 30 seconds, so you can rinse the larynx and neck well. And salt, soda and iodine at this time will begin their therapeutic effect. On expiration, spit out the solution and repeat the procedure again until we empty the whole glass.
  • If the rinse is done by the baby, and he can not stand for 30 seconds, do not force the baby to rape. Let spits water before. If necessary, you can reduce the amount of solution used. It will be worse if the child has a vomiting reflex or an aversion to rinses.

Correction of the dose is a kind of compromise. Simply, the procedure will have to be carried out more often.

  • Even if the rinse composition does not contain harmful ingredients, you should try not to swallow it. First, soda, salt and iodine are needed in limited quantities. And secondly, along with the solution, pathogenic microorganisms also enter the stomach, and this is the reverse effect of the expected and is not at all useful for recovery. After rinsing, on the contrary, we want to prevent the spread of pathogens into the body.
  • To prevent ingestion of the liquid composition, you must first inhale enough air to last for at least 30 seconds, and during the rinse, gradually exhale air, which will not allow water to enter the esophagus. Do not during the rinse, also be distracted and talk.
  • After the glass is empty, the rinsing procedure can be considered finished. But for half an hour the components of the composition remaining on the walls of the throat will have their curative effect, so during this period it is not recommended to consume water and food.
  • The number of rinses a day, depending on the composition used, is better discussed with the doctor in charge. We need only say that it makes no sense to do less than 2 procedures a day. When angina doctors advise to gargle more often, 5-6 times a day with an interval of 2-3 hours. At the very beginning of the rinse with salt solution with angina can be done every 30 minutes.

It seems to be nothing complicated, and if not to be lazy, the fight against the disease with the help of rinses will go more efficiently, and recovery will come sooner. Regular rinsing in the first days of sore throat will help prevent the passage of the catarrhal form into purulent, which is treated much more heavily and gives dangerous complications.

That the treatment did not turn into new problems

So far, we have talked about effective salt rinses in angina, mainly in adults. I must say that such procedures have practically no contraindications to the use and side effects.

Salt and soda are considered to be hypoallergenic components of solutions for throat rinses with angina. But with iodine you need to be careful. In some people this component can cause allergic reactions. Plus, an overdose of iodine in the composition for washing mucous membranes is fraught with a burn of tender tissues and an intensification of the pain syndrome.

What should alert you during and after the rinsing procedure? Occurrence of red small itchy spots on the body (urticaria), runny nose, coughing, sneezing. Tearing eyes and swollen eyelids can also be evidence of an allergic reaction to components of the rinse composition.

If, after rinsing, the sore throat does not decrease, but on the contrary increases, dryness of the mucous membranes and strong irritation are noted, the reason is most likely in the wrong proportions of the therapeutic components of solutions: excess iodine, salt or soda. Highly concentrated solutions will not remove the symptoms of persecution, but, on the contrary, cause them, irritating the sensitive mucous throat. If the sky and tonsils are very red after the rinsing procedure, you should always contact your doctor who will tell you what will help to remove irritation.

Is it possible to use salt formulations to rinse your throat during pregnancy? Rinsing with soda and salt definitely will not harm either the mother or the baby in her womb. But about iodine it can be said that it can be used in rinsing solutions only if the woman is confident that the substance will not cause her allergic reactions, which are especially dangerous during pregnancy.

Moreover, some doctors advise to refrain from using iodine even in local solutions for the first 3 months of pregnancy. It is believed that it is during this period that the endocrine system of the future little man is actively forming.

Can babies gargle with salt with angina?

Salt is a wonderful antiseptic that effectively fights streptococcal and staphylococcal infections, which are usually associated with sore throat. It is these conditionally pathogenic microorganisms that settle in the area of the tonsils and, under suitable conditions, begin to actively develop there, provoking an inflammatory process.

It is about these types of angina that we are talking about when a child is sick. Bacteria in the oral cavity are recorded with unwashed handles, and immature immunity, additionally weakened in cold wet weather, can not prevent their reproduction. And who is our great fighter with insolent streptococci and staphylococci? Of course, salt, which means that it should act as an effective auxiliary medicine for angina.

But is it not dangerous to rinse with salt in childhood? Are not dangerous if the child learns to carry out the procedure correctly, without swallowing the rinse solution. When this happens, it's hard to say. Some kids even at 3 years old can rinse their neck by themselves, spitting out water, and others are required for training for 5-6 years.

By itself, the salt is not dangerous to the child. The use of salt for the treatment of children is identical to that of adults. The rinse composition is made from 200-250 ml of water and ½-1 tsp. Salt taking into account the age of the child. Even if a child swallows a little such a composition, it is unlikely that you will need to worry much about this.

Allowed children with angina also do the lavage of the throat with compounds containing not only salt, but also soda. The recipe remains unchanged: for one glass of warm water take on a half teaspoon of soda and salt.

But iodine is included in solutions for irrigation or washing the throat of babies, if you follow the instructions you can not before the child turns 5 years old. In this case, the rinsing technique of the child should already be well mastered, so as to avoid swallowing the components of the solution. After the ingestion of iodine is fraught with problems with the thyroid gland.

To supplement the treatment options for a sore throat in a child with such an effective procedure as rinsing the throat, the baby should be taught beforehand in the form of a game, and then seriously, explaining that in this way the disease can be quickly ejected from the neck.

Analogues of salt for the treatment of angina

Treatment of sore throats in adults and children is a laborious process. But you can not not cure the disease, because it is angina that is famous for its complications on the heart, kidneys, joints, lungs, eyes and ears. And the faster the pathogen is removed from the body, the less likely the complications.

Benefit salt with angina, used to rinse the throat, helps prevent dangerous complications, removing pathogens at the very entrance to the body - in the throat. But who said that salt is the only antiseptic that can be used to effectively clean the sick neck. We already know about the useful properties of soda and iodine, but there are other compounds for washing the site of localization of pathogenic microflora in angina, and they use completely different components.

One of the fairly well-known components of a healing solution for gargling is hydrogen peroxide. The aqueous solution of the drug preparation is quite an effective remedy, but at the same time it is also unsafe. In high concentrations, peroxide will destroy not only pathogens, but also our relatives.

Probably, all adults know about the good antibacterial properties of peroxide. Not for nothing because it is regularly used to disinfect wounds and scratches. But the skin on the body and the mucous throat have different density and sensitivity. And what is quite safe for the skin of the hands, can damage the mucosa.

Rinse throat with hydrogen peroxide provides some caution and compliance with safe solution concentration. And a solution with a concentration of only 0.25 percent is considered safe.

Since the pharmacy solution of hydrogen peroxide usually contains 3 percent of the active substance, it must be further diluted with rinse water to the desired concentration, which we obtain by diluting 1 tbsp. (about 15 g) peroxide in 165 grams of purified water.

If we take the drug not in the form of a solution, but in tablets, to prepare the medicinal composition for the rinsing procedure for the same amount of water, one tablet of hydroperitis should be taken.

It must be understood that hydroperite is not a relatively harmless kitchen salt and it is not worth leaving its remnants in the goal, not to mention that it is impossible to swallow such a compound. Thus, purification of the throat with peroxide must be carried out in 2 stages. First, rinse is carried out with a peroxide solution on water (hydroperit), and then the throat and mouth are rinsed thoroughly with decoctions of anti-inflammatory herbs (sage, chamomile, calendula and other medicinal plants can be used).

If it is a purulent angina, the purification procedures can be combined with the treatment of tonsils with a more concentrated peroxide solution (1.5 tsp 3% solution per ¼ of water). A match with a bandage wrapped on it, moistened in a solution, requires processing only the tonsils. Such treatment should be done only after consultation with a doctor and very briefly (twice a day for a couple of days).

Hydrogen peroxide for washing the throat can be used to treat children, as well as during pregnancy and lactation. But doctors still recommend in these periods to prefer safer means, useful for angina, for example, use the same table salt or sea salt or use a solution of furacilin (2 tablets or capsules diluted with hot water, after dissolution, the composition cools down to the desired temperature).

As an anti-inflammatory agent using infusion of chamomile, alternating rinsing with this infusion, and cleaning procedures using antiseptics.

Another popular drug for angina is chlorophyllipt. It along with furatsilinom, "sea water" (and so often called a solution of salt, soda and iodine), hydrogen peroxide and other effective antiseptics are often prescribed for rinses with purulent sore throat.

"Chlorophyllipt" is a preparation based on the extract of eucalyptus leaves, which is available as an antiseptic 2% oil and 1% alcohol solution, a spray or tablets for absorption. All these forms can be used to treat angina, since they have antibacterial (against staphylococci, and the causative agent of purulent angina is considered to be Staphylococcus aureus), anti-inflammatory, immunostimulating and other useful actions.

Tablets are used as an antiseptic only for resorption. Swallow whole or chew the medicine can not. Applied pills for the treatment of adult patients for 1 week. The daily dose is 5 tablets.

The spray is used to irrigate the affected throat. The procedure is carried out 4-5 times a day. The course of treatment is usually 5 days.

1% solution of chlorophyllipt in angina can be taken orally, diluting 1 tsp. Of the preparation in 25 ml of water. Multiplicity of admission - 3 times a day.

This solution is used for rinsing. Rinse the throat with chlorophylliptom using a dilute solution. A glass of warm water is taken only 1 tsp. 1% alcohol solution and rinse with a throat composition 2 or 3 times a day.

2% oil solution can be used to treat tonsils and purulent plaque removal with a cotton swab dipped in a cotton swab or a match with a wrapped piece of bandage or for ingestion (4 times a day, one teaspoon of undiluted substance). In addition, the solution can be instilled in the nose.

Chlorophyllipt can also be used to treat children and pregnant women, but you should always check for allergies.

What other means can be used for topical treatment of angina, along with solutions of salt:

  • A light pink solution of potassium permanganate (manganese) is used to rinse the throat (it can dry out the mucous membrane, so you will additionally need to lubricate the throat with sea-buckthorn oil).
  • Boric acid (1 teaspoon per 1 glass of water). In the composition, you can add soda.
  • Natural apple cider vinegar is also considered an effective means for gargling with angina if safe proportions are observed: 1 tsp. Vinegar on a glass of water (table vinegar is better not to take, it can damage the mucous and cause a burn, as well as an overdose of apple).
  • Garlic infusion - a rather cruel composition, which is hardly suitable for treating children. For 1 glass of boiling water we take 2 small, large chopped cloves of garlic, we insist for an hour and use it to rinse the throat.
  • Beetroot juice with apple cider vinegar (2 tablespoons vinegar per 1 glass of freshly squeezed beet juice) is used to rinse 3-4 times a day.
  • To alleviate pain and sore throat, you can also use freshly squeezed lemon juice (we take 2 parts of juice on 3 parts of water).
  • Infusions and herbal medicinal herbs (chamomile, linden, calendula, plantain, sage, wormwood, elderberry, mallow, etc.), as well as herbages can be used for rinsing and ingesting with angina.
  • Medicinal products can also be changed for rinses in accordance with the instructions:
  • "Rotokan" - 1 tsp. Preparation for 1 glass of water,
  • "Miramistin" - 1 tbsp. Undiluted drug for the procedure (enough for children 1 teaspoon, until 3 years old children are diluted 1: 1 with water),
  • "Chlorhexidine" - 0.05% solution adults are used to rinse the throat in pure form, the children are diluted with water in a ratio of 1: 2 (up to 6 years) or 1: 1. It should be remembered that the drug is not used together with other antiseptics and can cause darkening of the enamel of the teeth.

Preparations used to rinse the throat in undiluted form with small volumes should be used in the second stage of the procedure. After a small amount of liquid can not wash out of the throat accumulated there bacterial plaque. The first step should be a thorough rinse of the throat with clean water or a herbal infusion that will remove some of the pathogens from the area of the lesion. The rest of the work will be completed by effective pharmacy antiseptics.

Choosing the most effective means for gargling with angina and other diseases, one should also remember about its safety, especially if the drug is used during pregnancy and lactation or with its help the child is treated. The most safe and effective are the products based on sea salt, drugs "Chlorophyllipt", "Rotokan" and "Miramistin" in the absence of allergic reactions to components.

Reviews

Cooking salt is a remedy that has been used to treat sore throats since time immemorial. So they treated our parents, ourselves, and with the help of salt we treat our children. And we need to say that we successfully treat, without worrying that salt will harm our child.

What is so popular with this tool, whose place on the kitchen shelf? Probably its availability and efficiency. Many readers note that if the sore throat is suddenly caught, and there is no way to go to a pharmacy for specialized medicines, salt always helps, because she is the chief assistant in the kitchen, which means she is always at hand.

To doubt the effectiveness of salt against germs and fungi is not necessary, because every mistress knows that salt is the best preservative, i.e. It causes the death of microbes that cause food spoilage and the formation of mold (fungus). In the same way, the salt solution (water and salt) used to purify the throat with angina is also effective. It kills (dries the cells) of microbes and does not prevent the multiplication of infection in the throat where it is warm and humid than this place and attracts pathogens.

With regard to the effectiveness of washing the throat with salt formulations, you can even find such reviews where people claim that saline solution helped them more than pharmacy antiseptics. In addition, this drug is optimal for those who are too sensitive organism with a tendency to allergic reactions.

Many mothers use solutions based on salt (it does not matter whether it is cooked or sea) in order to gargle with their babies, considering them the safest means. The main advantage of such drugs is considered to be a minimum of side effects. Different formulations with salt are advised for the treatment of children and adults by many doctors.

When it comes to purulent angina caused by a staphylococcal infection, there is hardly a more effective and safer means than "sea water", which includes salt, soda and iodine. Prepare a remedy at home is not difficult, but the benefits of it are obvious. The composition kills bacteria, moisturizes the throat, removes perspiration and pain, softens and helps to remove purulent plugs, contributes to more effective control of the disease and prevents complications that arise if the infection penetrates or multiplies excessively (especially streptococci), causing a malfunction in the immune system .

If there are negative reviews that claim that saline did not help in the treatment of sore throat, then the reason is most likely in irregular rinses and lack of basic treatment. It is necessary to understand that salt with angina is not the number one remedy or a panacea for the disease. The fact that it helps to prevent the spread of infection in the early days of binge infection does not mean that treatment should be limited to salt rinses alone. Treatment of sore throat involves a comprehensive approach, and rinsing with antiseptics is only one of its components.
