It is impossible to prevent the onset of menopause, but a woman can reduce the severity of the unpleasant symptoms that accompany this condition by taking care of her own health in advance.
Prevention of menopause involves leading an active lifestyle and following a healthy diet. You should also do various exercises to maintain good physical shape. These measures will help improve your well-being and health, and will be an effective prevention of unpleasant symptoms of menopause.
Drugs for the prevention of early menopause
Since menopause develops as a result of the fading of ovarian function (the main factor is a decrease in the production of the female sex hormone estrogen), drugs prescribed for the prevention of early menopause usually contain estrogens. These drugs have their own special specifics - the dosage of hormones must be selected in accordance with the woman's age, and the regimen for taking the drugs depends on whether the patient continues to menstruate.
The course of HRT treatment during menopause always includes another additional hormone – progesterone. This component is necessary to provide the uterus with protection from excessive exposure to estrogens.
Most often, the following medications are prescribed in such cases: Divina, Angelique, Ovestin, and in addition Femoston and Divisek.
Prevention of osteoporosis during menopause
A very important component of osteoporosis prevention is physical activity (and it should be dosed). The most useful exercises are swimming, walking, and playing games. At the same time, it is contraindicated to run long distances, jump, and do strength training, because such exercises greatly overload the skeletal system. In addition, you need to quit smoking, because smoking interferes with the absorption of calcium.
It is also necessary to follow a diet - eat foods that contain a lot of calcium (such as milk and other dairy products) and vitamin D (there is a lot of this substance in eggs and fatty fish).
To maintain the necessary level of vitamin D and calcium in the body, you need to take medications containing these substances, such as Calcium D3 Nycomed, Upsavit calcium, and also Natecal D3 and others.
Calcium preparations are contraindicated only if the patient has hypercalciuria or hypercalcemia. In other cases, the medications are prescribed in a maximum dosage of 600 mg (converted to pure calcium (usually this dose is contained in 1 tablet)) per dose. Tablets should be taken with food, because when taking calcium drugs on an empty stomach, there is a risk of kidney stones. At the same time, studies have shown that with the correct use of calcium drugs, such complications do not occur. The standard regimen for taking medications is 2-3 times a day.
Prevention of menopause after 40 years
Prevention of menopause after 40 years of age includes some rules that must be followed.
Firstly, you need to very carefully control your weight, maintaining it at the optimal level for your body. This can be done with the help of a moderate diet - with limited consumption of animal fats, and also salts with carbohydrates and alcoholic beverages.
It is absolutely forbidden to allow sudden weight fluctuations, either downwards or upwards. It is also important to normalize bowel function – for this, you should eat dried fruits (such as raisins and dried apricots with prunes).
In addition, the following medical procedures are also mandatory:
- gynecological examination;
- taking a smear test;
- undergo an ultrasound procedure to determine the condition of the reproductive system organs.
All these procedures must be done regardless of whether a woman has any manifestations of climacteric syndrome.
It is also important to regularly do therapeutic exercise, do gymnastic exercises, walk (about half an hour a day 5 times a week). In addition, at least 2 times a year go to massage treatments.
