Symptoms of measles encephalitis
The measles encephalitis develops acutely, often on the 3-5th day after the onset of the rash. The body temperature to the beginning of encephalitis can already be normalized, and often note a new rise of it to a high level. Consciousness is confused. In severe cases, there are severe disorders of consciousness, psychomotor agitation, hallucinations, coma, sometimes generalized convulsions. Detect meningeal symptoms, lesions of II, III and VII pairs of cranial nerves, paresis of limbs, coordination disorders, hyperkinesis, conductive sensitivity disorders, impaired pelvic organs. In the cerebrospinal fluid, the protein content, pleocytosis, and its pressure are often increased.
The current is heavy. Mortality reaches 25%. The severity of encephalitis does not depend on the course of measles.
