Indications for ultrasound of the spleen
- Splenomegaly (enlargement of the spleen).
- Education in the left side of the abdomen.
- Closed abdominal injury.
- Pain in the left upper half of the abdomen (it is necessary to perform an abdominal radiography in the vertical position of the patient, including both halves of the diaphragm to exclude intestinal perforation).
- Suspicion of subdiaphragmatic abscess (fever of unknown origin).
- Jaundice in combination with anemia.
- Echinococcosis (parasitic disease).
- Ascites or coagulated fluid in the abdominal cavity.
- Suspected of a malignant process, especially with lymphoma and leukemia.
