Today, more and more problems appear in dermatology that are not a separate disease, included in the International Classification of Diseases, as a separate disease. Rather, they can be considered as a syndrome, or a separate symptom, which is a separate diagnostic sign, and in most cases is a sign, or an early harbinger of some disease in the body. Cracks on the fingers should be included in such phenomena.
The main treatment consists of providing proper care, observing hygiene rules and proper nutrition. Without these conditions, further treatment is impossible. It is also necessary to use special therapeutic agents aimed at healing cracks and preventing the development of inflammatory and infectious processes.
It is also important to remember that fungal diseases are practically incurable. In advanced cases with extensive damage to the extremities, treatment is very difficult. At the very least, treatment takes a long time, which is associated with the need to remove areas affected by fungus and use complex procedures. Therefore, you should always remember that the sooner treatment is prescribed, the more effective it will be. Therefore, when the first signs of cracks of any localization appear, you need to see a doctor as soon as possible. An essential condition for successful treatment is compliance with all recommendations and strict adherence to the treatment regimen prescribed by the doctor.
What to do if a crack on your finger doesn't heal?
The methods and means of treating cracks are very diverse. The choice of one or another method of treatment depends on the cause that caused the cracks to appear, the stage of development of the pathology, the general condition of the patient's body. In no case should you self-medicate, since it can only worsen the condition. You cannot use ointments, solutions, smear cracks with iodine or brilliant green, or cauterize them with anything without a doctor's prescription without prior consultation with a doctor.
It is important to know that peeling, cracks, blisters, oozing and itching on the hands, fingers, and in the interdigital areas can be caused by diseases of various etiologies. Therefore, treatment should first of all be aimed at eliminating the pathology.
It is also important to remember that self-medication not only masks the disease and prevents the doctor from making the correct diagnosis, but can also cause a sharp exacerbation of the disease. An experienced doctor will not begin treatment without laboratory confirmation of the suspected diagnosis. Therefore, the main thing to do with cracks is to see a doctor and strictly follow his recommendations.
Remedies for cracked fingers

The main ointments and creams that contain sea buckthorn have wound-healing properties. This is the basis of all highly effective healing creams, since sea buckthorn is a rich source of vitamins and minerals that have wound-healing properties. This includes cosmetics from the Velvet Hands, Gentle Velvet, Green Pharmacy, Forest Doctor, and Siberian Herbalist lines.
Ointments and creams based on cinquefoil, comfrey, and chondroitin also have excellent healing properties. They can be produced under various commercial names, depending on the company and country of manufacture. The cream "Traumalgon" has proven itself well, which includes such components as badyagi extract, nettle. Propolis, pepper and eucalyptus oils, arnica, and camphor. It has not only a wound-healing effect, but also an antibacterial and warming effect. It contains a large amount of provitamin, due to which it has wound-healing, nourishing and regenerative properties. Glue for cracked fingers
There is a special medical glue (kleol) that is used to heal wounds, post-operative sutures, ruptures and damage to the integrity of the skin. It is applied to the skin after preliminary treatment with disinfectants. After application, a thin film is formed that resembles glue. It kind of "glues" the skin, promoting its healing. Such a film creates a microclimate underneath that is optimal for wound healing. It also prevents infection of the wound and its injury, which promotes accelerated healing.
Vitamins
If any cracks or damage to the integrity of the skin appear, it is necessary to take vitamins, since most of them are directly or indirectly associated with a violation of vitamin metabolism and their deficiency in the body (or complete absence). Cracks of any localization are associated primarily with a deficiency of vitamins A, E, PP. Therefore, it is recommended to take vitamins in the following daily concentrations:
- Vitamin PP – 60 mg
- Vitamin A – 240 mg
- Vitamin E – 45 mg
- Vitamin C – 1000 mg.
Aevit for cracks on fingers
Cracks can be a sign of a lack of vitamins A and E. They can be taken separately during treatment, or they can be taken in the form of a complex drug Aevit, which includes both vitamins of the group and vitamins of group E at the same time. At the same time, they are selected in optimal proportions and represent an optimal form, the most effective, and the most absorbed by the body. Take 1-2 tablets per day, depending on the severity of the pathology, age, individual characteristics of the body. The course of treatment is at least 28 days (a full biochemical cycle, during which a complete renewal and restructuring of the body occurs).
Physiotherapy treatment
Physiotherapy helps to cope with cracks quite effectively and in a short time. It is used as part of complex therapy, or after the main treatment is completed, but scars or small, unhealed wounds and microcracks remain on the skin.
The main methods of physiotherapeutic treatment are ultrasound, microcurrents, and waves of various lengths. Electrophoresis is used, with the help of which drugs are introduced directly into the damaged tissue. The depth of their penetration is regulated by microcurrent. Peeling, scrubbing, diamond microdermabrasion, cosmetic massage, and liquid nitrogen massage (cryomassage) have proven themselves quite well. Cryoprocedures, thermal procedures, grinding, mechanical and chemical cleaning, restorative and wound-healing masks are indicated. Laser procedures and phototherapy have proven themselves well.
Folk remedies

It is recommended to steam your hands for an average of 10-15 minutes, after which they are taken out and gently blotted (but not wiped!) with a soft towel. You can use soft cotton or disposable paper towels, as they have a more gentle effect on the skin. After this, be sure to apply a nourishing or wound-healing cream.

Surgical treatment
Surgical methods are rarely used, mainly when conservative methods are ineffective. But they can be the only way to solve the problem, for example, when a wound becomes infected, an infection progresses, erysipelas develops, and when a benign or malignant neoplasm develops. Both benign and malignant neoplasms are removed. Surgical methods can also be used in cases of vascular pathology.
