Thrush is a very common infectious disease that is caused by yeast-like fungus of the genus Candida. Along with drug therapy, gynecologists often practice douching with thrush: as practice shows, this method is very effective in combating fungal infection.
About how and what you need to syringe, let's talk in this article.
Treatment of thrush with douching
Treating thrush with douching - washing the vagina with a certain liquid is a very common method of treatment. However, it can not be used by everyone.
It is not recommended to use syringing:
- women in menopause due to excessive dryness of the vaginal walls;
- during pregnancy, as there is a risk of infection from a future mother to the baby;
- in the period of menstrual bleeding because of the danger of deeper penetration of microbes;
- the first month after the abortion or the birth of the child (during this period, the sex organs are more vulnerable to infection);
- before going to the gynecologist (this can make it difficult to diagnose your disease).
Before you start using douching, you should consult a doctor and discuss your specific illness.
If you want to douche yourself, carefully read the instructions on packages with ready-made solutions.
If you want to use a self-prepared alternative remedy, immediately before douching, cool it to a warm state (not hot!).
Self-treatment with douching represents a certain proportion of the risk of a deeper spread of the infection, which in the future will be more difficult to cope with.
The best option in the treatment of thrush will be the use of medication prescribed by a doctor, in conjunction with the douching technique.
How to do syringing with thrush?
It is advisable to start douching procedures 2 times a day (after awakening and before going to bed), then gradually go to one time, after - a day before the complete rejection of the procedure. The optimal number of procedures is 8-10.
In hospital conditions, the procedure is carried out with the help of Esmarch's mug: this douching is more effective, but at home it is somewhat difficult to use this device. Therefore, either visit the gynecologist for the procedure, or spend it at home, using a conventional syringe - a rubber pear with a removable tip.
It is forbidden for syringing to use a pear that was previously used for making enemas: if you do not have another one, you will have to buy a new one. The tip of the syringe must be disinfected before use: for example, boil it, or treat it with an antiseptic.
We fill the pear with the prepared solution, we are located in the bathroom on the back, putting our feet on the edges of the bath. The procedure can be performed and sitting, slightly bending forward, but this position is slightly less effective. The tip should be inserted as carefully as possible so as not to affect the mucosa. Relax and begin a gradual, non-aggressive solution. The duration of one procedure is about 10 minutes. The optimal amount of the injected solution is from 200 to 300 ml. After douching, it is recommended to lie down for 15-20 minutes.
If the symptoms of yeast infection do not disappear after 7 days from the beginning of douching procedures, you should consult a doctor. Perhaps the thrush was present in the vagina on the background of some other infection, or the treatment was not done correctly.
Douching during pregnancy from thrush
Most doctors are of the opinion that douching during pregnancy from thrush should not be done. There are several reasons for this:
- there is a risk of air ingress through the uterine neck during syringing;
- the passage of infection from the vagina to the fetus is possible, which threatens damage to the fetal membrane;
- During the procedure, the normal flora of the vaginal fluid can be washed out, which significantly weakens local vaginal immunity. As a consequence, the development of a secondary infection.
If you still decide to use douching during pregnancy from thrush, consult a gynecologist, together choose an effective and harmless solution for the procedures and try to follow the doctor's recommendations exactly. The procedure is carried out slowly and with minimal pressure on the pear. The course of syringing during pregnancy is no more than 5 days.

Means for syringing with thrush
As a rule, for syringing with thrush, astringent and anti-inflammatory solutions and liquids are used, which are sold in pharmacies or prepared independently at home.
Among the alternative means of special popularity are herbs: chamomile, St. John's wort, oak bark, string, calendula, egg. Pharmacy products also produce a good effect. Among them - hydrogen peroxide, furatsilin, manganese, boric acid. From home remedies good reviews were obtained about baking soda, saline solution.
Douching soda with thrush is perhaps the most common. This procedure is used for dysbacteriosis of the vagina, with candidiasis and even in order to increase the chances of a woman becoming pregnant. In order to prepare a soda solution, we take half a teaspoon of baking soda and divorce it in 200-300 ml of water. The water for the solution must be necessarily boiled and warm, but not hot. The procedure is practiced 1-2 times a day for a week, but no more, otherwise you can cause great damage to the vaginal microflora, washing away the natural protective barrier on the mucous membrane.
Douching with hydrogen peroxide with thrush is not such a common, but no less effective method. Hydrogen peroxide is a powerful antioxidant that destroys almost all known types of pathogenic bacteria, including viral and fungal infections. Such a solution inhibits the viability of anaerobic microorganisms living inside the vagina, which greatly facilitates the overall condition of the disease. In order to prepare the liquid for the procedure, we mix a tablespoon of peroxide and 0.5 liters of water (warm and boiled) and do syringing. If the fungal infection there were abundant secretions, the procedure helps almost immediately. However, if you are not sure of the reason for the discharge, the method should not be used without first consulting a gynecologist.
Douching with chlorhexidine in thrush can be done only with symptoms of mucosal irritation due to thrush, as well as with vaginitis, erosion and some venereal infectious diseases. Actually, the fungal infection and viruses chlorhexidine does not work, so the cause of vaginal candidiasis does not directly cause this remedy. For syringing, 0.02% of chlorhexidine is used, 200 ml for one procedure.
Douching with potassium permanganate at the thrush brings an effect due to the antiseptic (disinfecting) property of the drug. When preparing the solution it is extremely important to observe the dosage: a too concentrated solution of potassium permanganate can adversely affect the mucosa and lead to irreparable consequences. The same applies to a poorly filtered solution with grains of the preparation. The correctly prepared solution for syringing should be light pink and transparent, but, in no case is it dark. Do not douche with potassium permanganate too often: you can dry the mucous membrane.
Douching with boric acid for thrush is not recommended for pregnant and lactating women, as well as for those with kidney disease. All the rest can use boric acid in two ways:
- buy in the pharmacy network special vaginal capsules with a solution of boric acid and apply them according to the annotation to the drug;
- prepare the solution from a glass of boiled water and 1 teaspoon of boric acid powder. The procedure should be carried out 1-2 times a day.
Douching with furatsilinom with thrush will not save you from a fungal infection, but it will ease the condition, relieve itching and temporarily stop the discharge. In order to prepare the solution, take 1-2 tablets of furatsilina, grind them to a powdery state (to better dissolve) and add in 200 ml of warm boiled water. After dissolving the furacilin solution it is desirable to filter out, getting rid of undissolved particles. Douching with the solution is carried out as usual.
Douching with kefir in case of thrush is a rather risky method of therapy from the point of view of official medicine. Of the many myths folded about the benefits of kefir for syringing with thrush, the truth is only that kefir contains lactobacilli useful for the vaginal flora. However, in addition to them, a lot of other microorganisms and substances are present in kefir, which do not have a positive effect on the mucous membrane. Thus, you can not only not cure, but also aggravate the situation. To improve the composition of microflora, kefir is best used inside, but not as a syringing.
Douching with salt at the thrush can remove signs of inflammation, but, unfortunately, salt does not affect fungal infection. Therefore, it is advisable to combine douching with salt with thrush with other antifungal agents, both systemic and topical. Usually take sea or, as a last resort, table salt. Dilute a teaspoon of salt into a glass of warm boiled water and use for syringing. Make sure that large salt crystals are not present in the solution: if any, the liquid must be filtered out. To enhance the effect in the syringing liquid, you can add a 0.5 teaspoon of soda to a glass of water.
Douching with vinegar for thrush helps restore the natural level of the vaginal environment. In order to prepare the vinegar liquid for syringing, we dilute 2 tablespoons of vinegar (preferably apple) in 1 liter of boiled water at room temperature. Actually, this solution does not destroy such fungi, however, they will slow down their development a little.
Douching with chlorophyllipt for thrush is a great way to relieve inflammation and cope with foreign bacteria. For this purpose, use an alcohol solution of chlorophyllipt, which can be purchased at a pharmacy. To prepare douching fluid, take 1 tablespoon of the drug and mix with 1 liter of boiled water. Use this fluid is not only for douching, but also for the treatment of external genitalia.
Syringe serum with thrush is performed in order to resist the development of symptoms of the disease. For the procedures we use the freshly prepared goat's milk serum. Half a liter of fresh (!) Serum is brought to a boil (do not boil) and cool to a warm state. Douching is done in the morning and evening for 10 days. Before each procedure, you should prepare a fresh portion of whey. Syringing with serum restores and renews the microflora of the vagina, eliminates the processes of decay. Before using the procedure, a gynecologist should be consulted.

Let cool for 45 minutes, filter. Prepare the prepared medicine with boiled water to the original volume (one glass). Infusion can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Douching 1-2 times a day, best at night, until the symptoms disappear completely.

Actually, the fungus does not act on the fungal infection, therefore it is recommended to combine it with calendula and yarrow for a more pronounced and persistent antiseptic effect. Chamomile well removes signs of inflammation, soothes and heals damaged mucous membrane, eliminates the sensation of itching, as well as puffiness and soreness caused by inflammatory reaction. In order to prepare a douching solution, 4 tablespoons dried camomile is placed in a container, we add a glass of boiled water, cover with a lid and hold in a water bath for half an hour, after which we cool and squeeze 10 minutes. Add boiled water to 200 ml and perform douching procedures. In addition to dry chamomile, you can buy a ready-made special solution from this plant - romazulan. For syringing dilute 1 ½ tablespoons of this solution in 1 liter of boiled water and use, as usual. Romazulan, in addition to extract from chamomile, contains essential chamomile oil, which provides effective removal of the inflammatory process and relief of the main symptoms of irritation of the vaginal mucosa.
Douching with oak bark when thrush is caused by astringent, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic properties of phytopreparation. When a solution comes from the oak bark to the mucous membrane, the tannin substance interacts with proteins, which leads to the formation of a protective film that protects the vaginal walls from further irritation. This property allows you to slow down the course of the inflammatory process and relieve the sensations of discomfort in the vagina. Presence of tannins in the preparation promotes denaturation of protoplasmic proteins of pathogenic bacteria, which provokes a delay in their development and death. To make the decoction enough 2 tablespoons oak bark, which we put in a container, add a glass of hot water and cook in a water bath for about half an hour, cool it to a warm state, filter it, dilute it with boiled water and use it for syringing.

Douching with citeal during thrush
The use of medicinal antiseptic citeal in the treatment of thrush is due to three active components of the drug: chlorhexidine, hexamidine and chlorocresol. These substances are known for their pronounced fungicidal, bacteriostatic and antitrichomonic properties. The complex effect of the drug can destroy all types of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, as well as fungi and herpes simplex viruses.
After a one-time syringing, the bactericidal effect of the drug is maintained for 18 hours, without irritation of mucous membranes and disturbance of the natural PH of the vaginal environment.
The cytology before the syringing procedure is diluted with pure boiled water in a ratio of 1:10.
