Diseases of the eyes (ophthalmology)

Secondary glaucoma

Secondary glaucoma is a group of diseases that occur in the most diverse pathological processes in the eye.

Hypotension of the eye: causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

Hypotension of the eye occurs as a consequence of other diseases of the eyes or the whole body. Intraocular pressure may decrease to 7-8 mm Hg. Art. And lower from the true figures.

Primary glaucoma

Congestive glaucoma is the most common form of glaucoma. With her, a number of characteristic changes in the anterior part of the eye are found.

Pigmentary glaucoma

The most important pigment, contained in biological tissues and providing skin color, is melanin. The pigment layer contained in the eye absorbs excess light that is not used by the retina in the process of the visual act.

Congenital glaucoma

Congenital glaucoma is genetically determined (primary congenital glaucoma), it can be caused by diseases or injuries of the fetus during embryonic development or during childbirth.

Peripheral uveitis: causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

Peripheral uveitis isolated in a separate nosological group in 1967. Primary inflammatory focus is localized in the flat part of the vitreous and the peripheral part of the choroid in the form of perivascular in the retina.

Treatment of uveitis

In cases of uveitis, chronic etiologic diagnosis, early etiotropic and pathogenetic treatment with immunocorrective agents and substitution immunotherapy are important for the prevention of chronic course, bilateral eye injury and relapse of uveitis.

Symptoms of uveitis

Acute anterior uveitis is characterized by photophobia, pain, redness, decreased visual acuity and lacrimation. Chronic anterior uveitis can occur asymptomatically or with a slight reddening and a sensation of "floating points" in front of the eyes.

Uveitis

Uveitis - inflammatory disease of the choroid - the most frequent pathology of this area of the eye. Uveitis occurs in 57-30% of cases and is one of the main causes of poor vision and blindness (25-30%).

Choroiditis: types

The symptoms of multifocal choroiditis and panoveitis are similar to those described above in the syndrome of ocular histoplasmosis. It also includes chorioretinal foci of atrophy, peripapillary scars, choroidal neovascularization, and linear margins on the periphery.
