Diseases and conditions that lead to a change in the number of CD8-lymphocytes in the blood

Increase in the

  • Autoimmune diseases
  • Systemic lupus erythematosus 
  • Sjogren's syndrome, Felty
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Systemic sclerosis, collagenoses
  • Dermatomyositis, polymyositis
  • Cirrhosis of the liver, hepatitis
  • Waldenström's disease
  • Acquired hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia
  • Mixed connective tissue diseases
  • Activation of antigraft implantation immunity
  • Primary immunodeficiency states

Decrease in the indicator

  • Acquired secondary immunodeficiency states:
    • bacterial, viral, protozoal infections with protracted and chronic course of tuberculosis, leprosy, HIV infection, malignant neoplasms
  • Heavy burns, injuries, stress
  • Aging
  • Treatment with cytostatics and immunosuppressants
  • Ionizing radiation (in acute period)
  • Enhancement of suppressor activity of cellular immunity
